I've said it before and I'll say it again. There should be a cap on spending, including transfers & wages. The cap level should be worked out for every league to ensure that a team cannot gain advantage by being able to buy all the best players. Teams being able to buy success should be confined to the history books

I get what you are saying@theAnticlough & I agree about your point regarding MP. There is also a big variable regarding all the injured players. We know three will not return, but hopefully the four that went of injured against Harrogate will be alright. If not we are in trouble. I think Norburn has another game suspended so he won't be eligible until the Newport game a week on Monday. I wouldn't play him, unless those injured players aren't available. I guess Martin will try to grind a result from each of the Salford & Cambridge games. Not sure if I would risk Norburn for the Cambridge game. I think we have to win all our home games & 2 away games out of the six for an automatic place. Every game will be very difficult.

I think that this was a great result for Notts, after the terrible performance against Oldham. I was particularly impressed because Notts has to deal with a small pitch, & adverse weather conditions too I'm pleased that the defensive partnership remained solid. Palmer & Iorpenda together were big. Tangen showed some good touches, Bennetts impressed, Belshaw, did well when called upon. I'm going for Jatta because his two goals were so important & they were poachers goals. He was in the correct position at the right time, which is so important for a striker.

@theAnticloughI think the odds for success for Notts at this time are 75% playoffs & 50/50 automatics especially after yesterday's results. I agree that the Salford & Cambridge games are going to probably decide our promotion chances Avoiding defeat is going to be paramount. Winning both or even one of those games would be massive. Also to bear in mind, other teams in the top nine are going to take points off each other, which could favour Notts.

@Chris I thought that way before yesterday's matches, but Notts winning at Harrogate & MK Dons, Bromley, & Cambridge all losing on the same day, puts Notts back in the mix for the automatics. Notts now have their own destiny in their hands again, & with teams in the top nine having to play each other, (Cambridge meet Swindon on Thursday), there are going to be lots of twists & turns between now & the end of the season. Lots of games to play for our closest rivals. Plenty of banana skins, & potential for dropping points.

It just proves what a change just one week can do in football. Notts earned a vital three points today, but in reality it was like a six pointer. All our main rivals losing within a few minutes of each other puts an entirely different complection on things at the top of league 2. There's all to play for as far as Notts is concerned. Their destiny is right back in their hands. Six games to go. Six wins for Notts and they are promoted no matter what the others do. That sounds simple, but there's going to be more twists and turns before everything comes to a conclusion. But hope now abounds.

Wow.Bromley, MK Dons and Cambridge have all lost today. It's like a six pointer for NottsUp to date table. Notts remain in third place.
