I'm wondering if players like Ruben & Dan would fit into Martin's style of play that he has brought to Notts? I know that Notts have brought in a flair player, him being Cal Roberts. Cal can play on either wings as well as in the number 10 role where he was quite successful for Scunthorpe. It will be interesting what type of players Notts finally recruit in the AM role.

In Dennis's defence he made a great start to the season in Jatta's absence then he was dropped from the starting 11 when Jatta returned. It was patently obvious that Dennis was deemed 2nd choice upfront. When a player is playing well with lots of confidence, then he's dropped, it can affect a player's confidence. As things turned out, at season's end there was only 2 goals between them, Jatta scoring 16 and Dennis 14. Personally, I do think that Jatta is the better all round player & he also fits better into Martin Paterson's system. Every player wants to play in the starting 11. Maybe it's for the best if Dennis has an opportunity somewhere else. Notts will need to ensure that he is replaced if he does go.

I remember that standing for juveniles on the terraces at Notts in 1967 were less than 2 Shillings (10p). I googled it & it was confirmed that In 1967, standing on the terraces at Notts (Meadow Lane) typically cost 3 shillings for adults (equivalent to 15p). Juvenile or children's tickets were half this price, at around 1s 6d (equivalent to 7.5p today). I used to get half a crown pocket money a week in 1967, equivalent to 12.25p today It cost me 3d to travel on the bus from Cotgrave to Trent Bridge equivalent to 1.25 p & 6d for chips & peas from the chippie (2.5p) I used to save my pocket money on non match days, so my pocket money added to birthday/Xmas gift money, & earning money from washing cars, then later on a paper round used to easily fund my match days with money to spare. How times have changed.
