I have been wanting Notts to sign another striker before the end of the transfer window. It could still happen in the final hours, but personally, I don't think Notts will.

I think that this EFL Trophy match should be used to give some of the fringe players a chance to show what they can do. I would like to see Jarvis, Edwards, Hinchy, Kouhyar, Traoré, Macari & Hall given a go for this one. I would normally want Notts to field their strongest team possible in a cup match, however I think it is important that these players get some match time. Notts could still have their strongest players on the bench if required, but after the win against Tranmere, I think the emphasis should be on being well prepared for the Fleetwood challenge at ML next Saturday. The key areas for Notts would be the areas where these fringe players are asked to play to find out how they perform against League one opposition. I think the performance is much more important than the result.

Your Monday Weather 4cast.

A big welcome from me @Nat & welcome to our friendly community.

I was impressed with Palmer, who seems to have got his mojo back, Dennis who has become a revelation leading the Notts line. Jatta, Gordon & Grant made a difference when they came on, McDonald did well in defence. I thought McDonald, Palmer & Dennis were the standouts. But my M of the M is McDonald on this occasion. Notts were under pressure during the last 20 minutes but the defence stayed strong with McDonald featuring.

I think that Martin Paterson has to take a lot of credit for the substitutions he made in the 2nd half that made all the difference & was indirectly responsible for getting the win for Notts Of course the players had to execute the Martin's instructions but I was very encouraged by the results & I do think that this match could be a good pointer for things to come. I think it will be a tactic that Martin will pursue going forward. I also think there is a possibility that we may see two strikers take the field from the beginning of the match, especially in the home games, to give Notts more imputus.

The Kelle Roos AI overview on Google describes Roos like this."Kelle Roos is an experienced, physical goalkeeper known for being a dominant presence in goal & comfortable playing out from the back, with attributes that make him a strong shot-stopper & a capable ball-playing goalkeeper. While his exact type of goalkeeper is a blend of modern & traditional qualities, he is often characterized by his experience, commanding stature, & ability to contribute to build-up play from defense". So did Notts make a mistake with their research?

The two winning goals today.

What a winning goal.

I'm going to give Martin Paterson credit for introducing his substitutions in the 2nd half. Those changes made all the difference to the intensity & we know that Jatta can show lots of class when he's on song & we saw that today, that turned out to be a vital flick that led to the winning goal. It's always tough for Notts to get a result at Tranmere. This is our first win in a very long time, & I like the way the team toughed it out in the end to get the result. It's vital that Notts hold their own against teams such as Tranmere & Notts did it today. Well done U PIES.

League 2 Table after 6 games. Notts in 13th place, 6 points behind the leader.

A great win on the road for Notts at such a a tough place to go & get a result. Credit has to go to the players for the 2nd half display. A touch of class from Jatta helping to st up Notts's winning goal was just the reason why Notts have missed him for 5 games. For your PON Man of the Match I have selected the starting 11 plus three substitutes for you to make your choice. Those players are, Starting eleven. Roos, McDonald, Bedeau, Aljofree, Cotter, Norburn Palmer, Tsaroulla, Iorpenda, Jones, Dennis. Subs. Jatta, Grant, Gordon.

UpdateFULL TIMEA BIG WIN FOR NOTTS.
