  1. Hopefully, we won't be playing them if we get promoted. If we do have to play them next season I'm sure it will be two hard competitive games. We've also seen clubs coming down from League 1 & struggle such as Forest Green last season & Carlisle this term being relegated to the National League. Remember this one?
  2. Notts are in the playoffs & also have a chance of being automatically promoted to League one. Question is, are Notts fully prepared for League one & with it a higher financial commitment for the Club too? There is a noticeable difference between League One & League Two, though it's not as stark as the gap between League One & the Championship. League One is generally considered to have a higher quality of play, more established clubs, & potentially larger fanbases than League Two. Of the four clubs that were promoted last season from League 2, we've seen Crawley relegated back to League 2 after just one season in League 1. And Mansfield Town have struggled in League one after being promoted,& they are actually celebrating the fact that they avoided relegation. On the other hand, Wrexham have been promoted to the Championship & Stockport are in the playoffs. These two clubs have shown that with adequate investment, it is possible to be very competitive at a higher level after promotion.
  3. These are the final matches that could affect Notts's final position in league 2, & who they may face in the playoffs. Saturday 3rd May Accrington 0-1 Chesterfield Bradford 1-0 Fleetwood Carlisle 2-2 Salford Colchester 0-0 Barrow Crewe 0-1 Walsall Grimsby 0-1 Wimbledon Port Vale 0-1 Gillingham
  4. Worksop Town are one match from the National League North. They beat Ashton United in the playoff semi final tonight 2:1

  6. @menzinho I think football politics was behind Lowe winning it. Abbott being loaned out to Notts from a Premier League Club may have been a factor too, why he wasn't considered, although I hope it wasn't the case.
  7. A beautiful morning here. Looks like it's going to be a very warm one. Just looking on the news this morning there has been a big house explosion in Bristol. The terraced house has been completely destroyed & adjacent buildings are damaged too. It is a suspected gas explosion. There has been a large fire at a substation in London once again. The fire is still going strong & firefighters are trying to get it under control. There are the ongoing problems with power cuts in Spain & Portugal. Some of the power has been restored but the reasons for the outage is still unclear. One interesting story was about a Violin that was made by hand by an inmate of Dachau Concentration camp in 1942. The Violin was built by finding available wood in the camp. There was also a secret message inside the Violin & the name of the man who built it. The man actually survived being interned in the camp.
  8. In the playoffs, fourth will meet seventh & the fifth place side will play the sixth. I agree with @DangerousSausagethat teams will want to avoid Salford. Colchester could sneak in if they win & results favour them. I think other playoff teams wouldn't like playing them either. Either Bradford, Wimbledon Grimsby, Walsall, or Chesterfield could be an opponent in the playoffs for Notts, including either of the other two mentioned, if results play out in a particular way. It's a long time since we had so much uncertainty with one match to go. My pick would be to play Walsall in the Semi & Bradford in the final, but it probably won't work out like that. Let's just beat Doncaster, & hope results go our way & we can avoid the playoffs.

  11. Nightmare scenario for the millions of people in those two Countries today.. A massive power cut has hit large parts of Spain and Portugal affecting public transport, traffic lights, hospitals, shops and restaurants. Reports of long queues at cash points as card payments are not working. The power outages could go on for days. Spain-Portugal power outage latest: Power cut in Spain and Portugal doesn't seem to be caused by cyber attack, say officials WWW.BBC.CO.UK Trains, traffic lights, card payments, and phone networks were hit - the Spanish operator...
  12. Notts record 2024 top, 2025 bottom P W D L F A W D L F A GD Pt 45 12 2 9 51 42 6 5 11 38 43 4 61 P W D L F A W D L F A GD Pt 45 10 5 7 30 19 10 7 6 37 28 20 72 Interestingly, Notts have scored almost as many goals away as they did last season at the same stage Defensively Notts have conceded a total of 38 goals less than they did at the same stage last season. Notts away record this season is a big factor in Notts winning a playoff place. Notts home record although dissapointing, is no worse than it was last season. Overall I think that the improvement from last season is clear. Much better defensively, which was an absolute must. A better away record. Undefeated in 32 matches compared to 25 last season.
