  7. The Poll has now closed. Thanks to all who cast their vote. i am pleased to announce that for his outstanding performance against MK Dons, the winner of the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match is Will Jarvis. Well done Will
  8. I noticed while reading the article that the club's turnover increased from £18.4m to £132.3m thanks to their return to the top flight after more than 30 years away, but operating costs also jumped from £39.5m to nearly £85 m as a result of winning the Championship play-off final against Coventry City. The Premier League is certainly a different Football World when it comes to financing a Club. I assume that the increase in turnover was due to primarily an increase in players wages. And what happened to the parachute payment this season? Luton look as though they may be relegated this season from the Championship so the parachute payment looks like it hasn't given Luton an advantage. It's hard to believe that it is possible that Notts could be playing them next season.
  9. I trust the Reedtz brothers have made a good appointment here. He's worked for Football Radar, so it is no surprise that he's been appointed. He appears to have plenty of experience in recruiting players. It's important that the owners have someone that they can trust to take Notts to the next level. I assume that a Head of Football is similar to a Director of Football regarding remit & duties. It's great that Stuart will have the support he needs as the season comes to a close & the important job of assessing the squad & possible incomings & outgoings begin. I wish Roberto luck in his new position & look forward with interest to what he will give to the Club.
  10. So we are now down to the last six games of the regular league season. Notts have managed to get themselves back into the promotion mix with a couple of wins on the bounce. The first of those six games is as tough as they come in this league. Colchester lie in 9th place just three points off a playoff place. They have everything to play for, so they will be a very tough nut to crack. Colchester have a similar home record to Notts this season. They have lost five matches just like Notts & have a similar defensive record at home, conceding only 15 goals. Colchester are similar to Notts in their footballing style. They like to control the game by possession based football. This may help Notts as Colchester will want to be on the front foot & this may create space for the Notts players when attacking. It Notts can remain tight at the back & exploit the space left by Colchester, it could help to facilitate a positive result for Notts. I wonder if Stuart will keep the same side that started against the Dons. Notts did very well when using the high press on Wednesday. I wouldn't be surprised if Jatta was on the bench early doors for Notts in a tactical move from Maynard.
  11. Notts now have six remaining games. These are Colchester. away Salford. home Bradford. away. Cheltenham. home Harrogate. away Doncaster. home. Six individual finals Four wins could give Notts 80 points. Could this be enough for automatic promotion? Three wins should ensure Notts a playoff spot. The permutations at this point are absolutely fascinating.
  12. Notts have now recorded 16 clean sheets.
  13. @Chris Talking about Cadburys Creme Eggs Cadbury Creme Eggs in the UK have shrunk in size and multi-packs now come with fewer eggs, while the price remains the same or even increases. Shrinking Size: A single Cadbury Creme Egg in the UK now weighs 34 grams, while in 1977, they weighed 39 grams. Source Google. Why do they do this? It's just a form of cheating the consumer isn't it.
  14. This may be a controversial opinion but I believe English football would be served much better if the Premier League & EFL Companies were forced to amalgamate to form one company that looks after the interests all four league clubs. I believe that this could result in more money for the lower league clubs when it comes to television rights, which could result in less lower league clubs getting into financial trouble. When you consider that the revenue generated for just one league is £3.64 billion compared to the revenue for 3 lower leagues being just £206 million, there is a massive disparity there. Some may say that this might make a European super league much more certain, but I say let the big six Clubs go if they wish. There needs to be a fresh realignment in English football.
  15. We can only dream of six more wins to win promotion. Now that would be something.
  16. Great performance and another clean sheet for Notts.
  17. Fantastic performance by Notts against a side that could have been very dangerous on the night.
  18. @Fan of Big Tone I bought a packet of sweets yesterday that looked like a free sample, it was so small.
  19. Just a little reminder that the Poll will close tonight at 10 pm tonight. @True Magpie @Chris @CliftonMagpie @TheSkipper @liampie @DangerousSausage
  20. Good morning. Nice to wake up this morning after such a great win by Notts the night before. It's not just the win but the performance too.
