Don't know what to make of this proposed appointment. It appears Kogan's been involved in the making of TV deals, that have broadly been unfair to the lower leagues, & basically makes the bigger clubs richer & the smaller clubs poorer. The TV revenue raised isn't getting passed down to the lower leagues as it should. It doesn't give me any confidence that this football regulator will make much difference to the status quo that we have in football at the moment.

Overcast here with rain in the air. It's 10 Deg C & there should be a high of 15 Deg C later on in the afternoon. Been out this morning running some errands for the Mrs. Bought a few goodies for the weekend. Just over 24 hours before the big match. The biggest game of the season so far. In effect it is almost a playoff decider.

Notts have done well and will finish midtable this season. They have a really good opportunity to finish with a win against Solihull. Notts finishing on 34 points would be a good effort & a big improvement on last season when Notts just avoided relegation. Solihull have struggled this season & have been relegated along with Lincoln City (Nettleham).

It's warming up over the weekend.

Notts County Women v Solihull Moors Women Sun 27 April 2025, 14:00 at Meadow Lane Stadium. Notts Women conclude their record breaking season when they meet Solihull Moors at Meadow Lane on Sunday. Notts will be looking for a decent crowd to cheer them on.

Nottinghamshire meet Sussex in a four day County Championship game starting Friday at 11 am.

More rotten luck for Notts once again.I wish Nick a speedy recovery. His absence will be a big blow to Notts as Nick has been very influential on the left as well as the right in his roll of wingback this season.

More bad news on the injury front. Nick Tsaroulla will be out for the rest of the season due to surgery on his appendix.

It's a cloudy morning here with just a few breaks & sunny intervals. We have been promised warmer weather as we go into next week. I'm very pleased to see that the blossom on our two apple trees are really wholesome this spring. Looks like the early spring weather has been perfect for blossom growth.

Another bad injury to a Notts player. Adam has returned to Notts but his contract at Notts will finish at the end of June 2025. Hope Notts will continue to support him during his recovery from such a bad injury I wish Adam well in his recovery. He's been a good servant to Notts (115 appearances & 10 goals) & the part he played in our return to the EFL will never be forgotten.

Lots of permutations in the offing in this league as we enter the last two games. There will be lots of twists and turns before those games are done.

I do expect some movement in the coaching department once the season is over.

Jatta & McGoldrick have scored 35 goals between them this season. Jatta has 18 League goals. McGoldrick has 17. And they are not finished yet.

That's your choice but many people in the UK do. And today is the traditional day to commemorate St George. So those who called today as St George's day were not wrong. Just making sure everyone knew that.

Maynard is just carrying out the playing philosophy of the owners. Stuart cut down the leakage of the goals under Williams but there is a fine balance between shoring up a defence against continuing to create chances and score goals. And no one seems to be mentioning the huge injury list all season that Notts have suffered. Our best player out of action for months and weeks at a time. I've wanted Notts to change their style to try to keep the opposition guessing, but that hasn't happened. That's my frustration.

@Fan of Big Tone The church of England has moved the date, however there are other Christian denominations in the UK & abroad that haven't . For example, Methodist churches have not changed the date of St. George's Day this yeat. The date is traditionally celebrated on April 23rd. While the Church of England has adjusted the date this year, it's not a change that affects other denominations, including Methodists. (Source Google)
