Good Morning. Looks like we had a little brain last night. This morning it is cloudy being Sunny intervals. Come across this footage from Notts County History on X. 103 years ago today Notts were involved in an FA Cup semifinal against Huddersfield at Turf Moor in front of almost 50,000 spectators. Notts lost 1:3 but the brief footage of the game is remarkable & shows the Notts goal.

It was a reasonable performance from England tonight against a Latvian side that were content to get 10 men behind the ball and make it difficult for England. Latvia only managed one shot on goal in the whole match such was England's dominance. In the first half England's build up play was ok, but time after time the final ball wasn't good. It took a fantastic free kick from around 25 yards out from James to break the deadlock, that went over the wall & into the top right hand corner of the goal after 35 minutes. In the second half England's passing was much slicker & they managed to get behind the Latvian defence for Kane to tap in from a cross after 70 minutes, his 71st goal for England. Five minutes later Eze cut inside on the left & his shot was deflected into the net off a Latvian defender. This was a goal on his debut for England. So a comfortable win in the end for England & 3 points to begin their World Cup qualifying campaign. Tuchel will be pleased with the win but I'm sure he'll want that final ball to be much better.

Been out in the garden fixing our garden gate. Will be watching the England v Latvia match tonight. Chance for England two notch up their second win in as many days

Yes I watched it & as I have said the performance wasn't great but the win was important. England's build up was slow, & side to side passing at the back just like we've seen at Notts. Kane's well taken goal in the second half was the stand out.

Bit of a lazy day today. Watched the World Athletics on the Beeb & the Scotland v Greece game later on. I do like Columbo so I watched one of the TV movies. In all the films that were made & there were quite a few, he never failed to solve a case. But this movie was different because he wasn't wearing his dirty old mack, but a shirt, tie and smart suit.
