  1. To be honest Wrexham, Cardiff, Swansea & Newport should join the Welsh Premier League. It would certainly benefit the other Welsh Clubs & those four clubs would have a much better chance of playing in Europe too.

  3. @Chris. I do like the idea of informing members if the site goes down. I kept checking to see if the site had come back on line, but became concerned that it hadn't after several hours. It would also be helpful to have an email that the site is back online.. As far as new members are concerned, I would suggest that a provisional membership be granted at first, because there does appear that many new members never contribute, then fall by the way side. Once a set number of contributions have been achieved, say five, or ten, the membership becomes permanent. To those who say a temporary membership may put people off, I say I don't think it would. The PON site is unique amongst available forums & all of us represent & contribute to that uniqueness every single day. I'm sure there are people out there that want to join & contribute to the site for that very reason. They just need a nudge & plenty of encouragement.
  4. He's a journeyman. Say no more.
  5. @ChrisThere are a few candidates for the number 10 position. The most creative player that we know of is Jodi Jones. Would he be as influential as him being on the wings? Not sure about that. We have the new player Whitaker who has played in an attacking Midfield role as well as attacker for Everton, but he will need time to bed in. Abbott has been tried in that position but he is a loanee, so we need someone permanent in that role There is Grant, Brown & Edwards but I'm not sure that they are creative players, especially compared to Dan & Ruben. We will just have to see how Stuart solves this conundrum on Saturday when the team is picked.
  6. Did Dan decide to leave because he saw that Notts are prepared to let go their best players for a price such as Macca, & Aaron instead of keeping players like them to build a side that could win a league? Also, it certainly looks like Notts are not prepared to pay the high wages that a player like Crowley may have asked for, when Notts were hoping to extend his contract.
  7. Don't get me wrong, I am upbeat about our promotion chances despite Crowley going to MK Dons. I accept that the Club is bigger than just one player. Players come and go, we know that. I have seen it happen hundreds of times over the years I have been supporting Notts. But I was struck by something that was said in 2023 where someone said that every Notts player has their price. I think it was from senior management. Langstaff, Nemane & Crowley have come & gone, bought on the cheap or on a free, then sold for a profit. My concern is this. If a good offer came in for Jodi next week would the owners sell? I think they would if the price was right. The three players we have brought in one for an undisclosed fee, one on a free, & the other one loan. Will the two that are permanent be developed into good players then sold on in a few years time? Is that the type of Club that we are going to be, because it very much looks like it to me. I think it could be a positive thing to ensure that the club pays it's own way & doesn't rely on it's owners to keep financing the club like we see at other clubs. But can the club climb the league pyramid doing it this way? It certainly isn't going to be done quickly like we see with Wrexham who appear to have a different model for success.
  8. Nothing like the Pink Panther to start the day.

  10. Very surprised at the move. Don't think it will work out as a good move but I might be wrong. Why didn't he go to a league 1 or a Championship Club. He's good enough in my opinion. Must be a good deal he's negotiated.
  11. I think it's very dissapointing he's gone. I don't think he's bettered himself by going to MK. The players we've signed are going to have to get used to our system & players. It may take several games for them to bed in. I'd maybe put Jodi in the number 10 role for now. Going forward we have Grant, & Edwards that can play behind Jatta, however they are both a different kind of player compared to Dan. Maybe Whitaker can take on the role that Crowley had, but as I've said, he may take several games to get used to the system, & get to know the players around him.
  12. So Dan Crowley has gone. He's been sold to MK Dons for an undisclosed fee They have been after him for a while, now they have their man. I think that Notts still have a chance of getting promotion, but it's going to be harder. I think they should have kept him till the season's end. I'm sure that there will be much discussion among Notts fans about this transfer and the implications of it.
  13. The manager merry-go-round continues. Why would manager leave a club 2nd in League 1 for a club just 2 points above the relegation places in the Championship? He must be getting a massive salary increase. Seems to me Managers aren't too bothered about getting trophies nowadays. It would be a laugh if Wycombe get promoted & Luton get relegated at the end of the season.
  14. Weather for Tuesday Morning
  15. It's not just the fact that Crowley might be going to MK Dons. It's also that they are rivals with Notts for promotion too He'll also be able to link up well with Nemane, which isn't good news for the rest of the Division either. By all means sell him. Every player has his price, but selling him to a promotion rival could come back to bite us big I would have at least put a clause in the transfer, that he couldn't play in the match against us on the 1st April at Meadow Lane.
  16. Very dissapointing if this rumour is true. The rumour that the fee is £300k would be an absolute giveaway in my opinion. The fact that the club is rumoured to be MK Dons is another body blow. Why would Notts sell to a League 2 rival? And surely Dan would want to go to a League 1 club at the very least if he was keen on leaving. If the rumour is true it doesn't make a lot of sense
  17. A new completion has been proposed called the Welsh League Cup. Four Welsh sides, Wrexham , Swansea, Cardiff & Newport who play in the English League would be joined by 12 Welsh Clubs that play in the Welsh Premier League. The winner of the competition would qualify for European competition. The FAW says the competition winner will go into the qualifying rounds of a UEFA club competition. Is this just another way to try to make money once again? Wrexham, Cardiff City, Swansea City, Newport County to enter new Welsh League Cup format with European access | Football News | Sky Sports WWW.SKYSPORTS.COM The proposal, subject to FA approval, would see Wrexham, Cardiff, Swansea and...
  18. Charlie has signed a six month contract. I'm sure that suits both parties for now. Hopefully, Charlie will impress and if Notts are happy with his performances, they will offer him a longer contract. What a great day it's been. It shows that Notts are looking towards the future & also at the same time they are strengthening the squad in vital areas. I'm very happy with his acquisition & I'm looking forward to him playing a part in hopefully a successful end to the season for Notts.
  19. More info on Zac Johnson. "Johnson began his playing career at his hometown club Sunderland and made his first appearance in the EFL Trophy on 13 October 2021 coming on as a substitute in a 2–1 victory against Manchester United U 21s". "At 16 years and 141 days old, this appearance made Zak the youngest outfield player to play for Sunderland in almost 50 years". Zak Johnson - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
