  1. The poll has now closed. Thank you all who voted & we have a popular winner tonight. The Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match for his outstanding performance against Walsall is Club Captain, Matty Palmer.
  2. Good evening. Went shopping this morning to get some things we forgot to get delivered on Tuesday. Glad I did. Salmon sides were half price with Tesco Clubcard, so I bought three of them, saved £35. The wife cuts them into portions, bags them then we freeze them. Made 20 portions altogether. Salmon always used to be cheaper up to Xmas as shoppers tend to ignore the fish for the meat. @Fan of Big Tone looks like you got your wish, Forest well beaten last night. Their next match is Man U away on Saturday. Could lose big again.
  3. Watch out if you are traveling this Thursday Evening.
  4. @Chris If you look at the Women's table Nettleham are listed as being on the bottom, but Nettleham are now known as Lincoln City so City took the franchise from Nettleham. But looking at the League table they are still referred to as Nettleham
  5. @saddlesore Even so it's good to have you visit & express an opinion from time to time I do think that your team is one of the favourites for an automatic spot, although you just never know, which team below is going to hit some good form. We are just hoping that once we get these injured players back, we'll start winning some games & put some pressure on yourselves & Port Vale. Doncaster had a good win last night so we can't count them out either. Then there's MK Dons starting to play well too. It's going to be a very competitive league this season.
  6. Lincoln United are currently in 9th place in the league with 10 points & 3 wins from eleven games. Notts will be looking for a positive result here. Another away win would really consolidate Notts in the top six. Notts will need to be at their best defensively as an away fixture in this league is always tricky, however the ladies are full of confidence after a 5:0 away win at Solihull in their last game.
  7. Storm Darragh has been named and will hit the UK on Friday..
  8. You bring up a very important point @Fozzy regarding the return to fitness of players coming back. It will have to be carefully managed by Maynard to ensure those players don't break down again. We may not see Six of them return at once. We've already seen Robertson on the subs bench for his return & he wasn't even used. Recruiting new players in January looks like it's going to take on even more of a significance now, to ensure that Notts remain competitive.
  9. Meanwhile in League 2 final score from the only match in league 2 tonight. Fleetwood 2 Doncaster 4. So the updated league table looks like this
  10. By the way @saddlesore, are you a season ticket holder at Walsall & do you travel to away matches too? It's nice to see another Club's supporter on PON. It's says on your account your a newbie. I wouldn't call you a newbie seeing you've been on here 9 years. Lots of water under the bridge since then. I think you need an up to date badge.
  11. I've extended the poll to 9pm on Thursday to allow PON members time to vote
  12. @menzinho I see what you are saying. I just think we have to acknowledge that players like Crowley & Jones are top league one or championship level players & them being absent reduces the effectiveness of the team. Jodi had two players, sometimes three, marking him when he was going forward, this left room for Crowley to do what he does best. I think we have missed the energy of Edwards, & Grant made a difference with both Crowley & Jones in the side. The players you've mentioned are reasonable players. I think Tsaroulla & Gordon have missed Jones and Crowley in the team too. Not only them, Jatta has found it more difficult to find space without the better players being present. Players being absent have had a knock on effect all around the team, but I think the team has done as well as they could despite some of the players having limitations.
  13. An excellent Blog/ Article by @allardyces tash. Well worth a read.
  14. @liampie Lincoln United Women amalgamated with non league side Lincoln United in 2020.. Lincoln City Women, rebranded in 2019 & formerly known as "Nettleham" is affiliated to league one side Lincoln City. Notts beat Lincoln City 4:0 on the 10th November.
  15. Nice article. @allardyces tash. The Club has made great progress since last season. Could you imagine how the team would have finished if six first team players in midfield and upfront would have become injured for an extended period? It would have been a bit of a disaster to put it mildly. This season the squad is much stronger, and the players that have come in and replaced the injured have done a sterling job to keep Notts in the top six, & just a few points off second place. The reason for that is abundantly clear to me. Notts have a very good Head Coach & his staff have done wonders with the team, so that the remaining players available have been moulded into an effective unit to keep Notts in touch with the top while the injured players recover. There will always be a small number of noisy fans that will never be satisfied no matter how well the team are doing. Some would moan if Notts were ten points clear at the top. The sensible fan will know different. I'm confident that once the seven injured players return, we will see the Notts we saw at the beginning of the season, with a big difference. Those fringe players have tasted first team action and won't want to relinquish their place lightly. The players returning will know that there is going to be plenty of competition for places. That fact on its own will benefit Notts in the new year.
  16. @saddlesore Your team took their chances well. Your first goal was a little fortuitous, but the other two goals were well taken Your team had a plan and stuck to it well. Good luck for the rest of the season
