  1. Brighton 2-1 Man City A fourth successive defeat for Manchester City. It is the first time in Pep Guardiola's managerial career he's lost four games in a row. It is also the first time Manchester City have lost four successive games in 18 years, since Stuart Pearce was manager. Pep under big pressure. The Owners won't be happy. Can he survive?
  2. This was poetry in motion. What a move, & what a finish.
  3. This was a match of two halves today. Notts were brilliant in the first half, especially in the first twenty five minutes. Some of the best football that Notts have played under Stuart Maynard. The side that Stuart has put together is playing as one all over the field. The move that lead to Jatta heading his tenth goal of the season was pure class at this level, & will rightly be a contender for Notts goal of the season. Doncaster, came back into it in the 2nd half and Notts had some serious defending to do, but apart from conceding the one goal, Notts looked solid enough & were well worth a point in the end. Stuart is rightly satisfied with a point & another difficult match has been ticked off with Notts remaining unbeaten away. Another tough match follows next week at Crewe, but I'm confident that Notts will give a good account of themselves there too. We are getting closer to the new year, when hopefully, Edwards, Jones & Grant will return to strengthen the squad.
  4. Port Vale lost & Walsall drew today so Notts remain in the mix. I think the first half performance today was arguably the best under Stuart Maynard. The goal was a team goal of a very high class at this level. What is so different about this side this season is the defence, I've said it before & I'll say it again, if a team has a brilliant defence & a good goalkeeper between the sticks, they have every chance of success. Notts were under a lot of pressure in the second half but apart from the goal, they remained solid. Another game ticked off and we are closer to the new year when hopefully, Grant, Edwards, & Jones will be back to strengthen the squad.
  5. These Notts players are my shortlist for the PON Man of the Match. Brown, Austin, Bedeau, Platt, Jatta, Abbott, Bass, Macari.
  6. League table after today's matches Notts still in third place.
  7. Full time. A great point for Notts. The draw confirms Notts County are the ONLY club in the EFL who remain unbeaten away from home...
  8. Update. Update. Update goal to Doncaster.
  9. Update Doncaster 0 Notts 1. 56 mins
  10. The second half begins. CMON U PIES!!
  11. Half Time. Great team goal has Notts leading at the break. Mark Stallard: "That was just special, really special"
  12. GOOOOOAAAAAL JATTA Mark Stallard: "Goal of the season contender"
  13. The Notts team to face Doncaster.
  14. We do not know that state of play regarding injuries, but this would be my team if some players become available. Bass Macari, Platt, Bedeau Tsaroulla,Palmer,Abbott,Gordon Crowley, McGoldrick, Jatta. Subs, Mcdonald, Hinchy, Robertson, Martin, Brown, Austin, Slocombe. I think that starting 11 is the strongest considering the injuries we have. I think it may be a draw today. Possibly 1:1. A clean sheet would be even better.
  15. @Wheelbarrow repair man maybe Leicester City will be looking for a Manager soon if things don't improve for them although Big Sam or Neil might be in the running for that job too.
  16. Another dreary start to the day. Looking forward to the match this afternoon. I think this game will give us a lot of insight into Notts's promotion credentials this season.. Doncaster away will be the toughest game of the season so far. I will be listening to the game on the Radio hoping that Notts can get a positive result today. The prospect of 3000 Notts fans cheering the team on today is awesome. A PL side would be proud to have that number at an away game. In my opinion a draw would be a great result. A clean sheet would be even better.
  17. Can't disagree with what you've said @Wheelbarrow repair man A minimum of eight home players in a squad of 25 doesn't mean they'll be any home players in a PL eleven. It would be better to have a minimum home player number on the field at any one time. If it were me making the rules that number would be at least six, to ensure home players have the majority at all times. I would also ensure that there is at least one home grown coach on any first team coaching staff in the PL. It may be an assistant first team coach or Head Coach so long as there is at least one.
