  1. The Poll is now closed. Thanks to all who voted. I am pleased to announce that Nick Tsaroulla has been voted Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match against Crewe for his outstanding performance.

  3. Well let's hope that the snow doesn't get as far as Notts. Even if it doesn't, someone's area may get it bad. I just hope that there aren't any power cuts with the extra demand on the grid.
  4. Good win for the Notts women today against Keyworth in the Notts FA County Cup

  6. I miss my late mother's home made mince pies. The mince pies in the supermarkets don't come anywhere close to them.

Nice to read your article from near the very beginning @Chris. The site has come a long way since this post. Pleased to be a part of it right now.
  8. Good Morning. A reasonable morning with some sun, but it's been a chilly night with the current temperature of just 4 Deg. Did you know that Voyager 1 that was launched in Sept1977 is still going strong. It is traveling away from earth at approx 10 miles per sec, almost a million miles a day, & is approx 15.3 billion miles away from earth NASA are still in contact with the probe & recently fired up it's thrusters to enable it to continue to communicate with Earth. Just putting distances into context Voyager 1, at it's present speed would take 77,000 years to reach the nearest star, Alpha Centauri, the closest star system in the solar system. Alpha Centauri is 4.37 light years from Earth. Here follows is an up to date article on Voyager 1. 9. Updated injury list after Crewe match. Jodi Jones. Out till at least January 25. Curtis Edwards. Out till at least January 25. Conor Grant. Out till at least Jan 25. Scott Robertson. Ankle injury Dan Crowley. Groin Injury. Five players remain injured but they are all influential.
  10. The first goal could have been easily avoided, with two players left in defence. The penalty was never a penalty, the Crewe player slipped over on the ball. Crewe were very lucky today. Notts were unfortunate.
  11. Your Sunday Morning Weather
  12. The first 40 minutes were uneventful & even though Notts didn't create much we were comfortable enough at the back. The goal came right out of the blue and changed the game as it turned out. I think that not leaving a couple of defenders behind to guard for a quick break was a mistake. I thought Ness played well in the first half & may challenge for a regular spot going forward . The substitutions & the change of shape back to a back three helped to make Notts a little better up front, & Notts did have a few opportunities, but the penalty killed us. I think that the injuries may be beginning to hurt Notts. Jatta was definitely missed, and next week against Newport, Bedeau will be suspended for accumulating 5 yellow cards. The positive is that Jatta will be back next week, & Notts are only one point behind Crewe who sit in 2nd place. A win should see Notts back in the mix at the top once again. Just getting to the year end in contention has to be the goal now.
  13. I think that Ness had a good 45 minutes. Didzy made some difference when he came on, so did Gordon Abbott & Palmer did ok as well today. But I think Tsaroulla stood out from the rest when he had those trademark runs that almost created something for the side today. I agree with @Fan of Big Tone that Notts kinda missed Jatta on the end of those crosses from Tsaroulla. So my man of the match is Nick.
  14. @Chris I agree. The match was a farce & it shouldn't have been allowed to go ahead. Mike had trained hard but he is simply too slow at his age to be allowed in a boxing ring If anything would have happened to Mike it would have been a big tragedy for boxing and the sport may have not recovered from something like that.
  15. For today's match my player shortlist for man of the match is as follows:- Ness,McGoldrick,Brown,Palmer, Gordon,Abbott,Tsaroulla,Bedeau
  16. Notts down to six place, but just one point behind Crewe who are in 2nd place.
  17. It's a loss for Notts today. Their first loss away this season. Injuries have caught up with Notts at last. And Jatta missing too, he gives Notts such an outlet.
