  2. Woke up to an overcast morning once more. Looks like we are going to be affected by a named storm Ashley on Sunday & Monday. I used to travel abroad for my holidays quite a lot in my younger days. The Greek Islands, Crete, Corfu & particularly Kos were a favourite of mine. So we're the Canary Islands, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, particularly Lanzarote were a favourite too. In the late 60s visited Sweden, Denmark, & France with my parents In the 70s toured Spain by coach, visited the cities of Madrid, Teledo, Seville & Granada. Plus the city of Bilbao twice in the 1990s Loved Guernsey too, visited a couple of times in the late 80s In the 2000s visited the US several times to visit New York & Long Island I have visited most parts of the UK including the Isle of Wight & the Isle of Man. Nowadays I prefer to holiday in the UK. There are so many places I haven't seen & would like to visit, but would like to visit Ireland if I get the opportunity.

  8. I think they should both start the game against Wimbledon. Jatta leading the line with McGoldrick & Crowley supporting. I'm sure McGoldrick will be ok for at least 60 minutes, & if he needs to be substituted at that time, Scott could replace him if he is fit, otherwise it will be Brown or Austin.
  9. @Wheelbarrow repair man I was upset when Big Sam left, I was upset when Neil left. I was upset when Luke left. But you get over it. I just remember what they did for the club before they left. That's all that matters as far as I'm concerned. All three of them will always have my respect, & I'll listen with interest in what they have to say in important matters relating to football.
  10. @Wheelbarrow repair man When one asks on social media why a home coach wasn't chosen you get, theres a shortage of home coaches. There's thousands of home coaches up & down the Country. Like you said, what they really mean is a shortage in the PL. When one asks, what makes a good coach? There is no answer or the best coaches can handle pressure Every single coach in the land has to handle pressure, from the very bottom of the football pyramid to the very top. But as we have discussed before, A coach as to basically win the champions league to have any chance now.. Funny then that they never chose Clough, Ferguson, Paisley or Tony Barton. I wonder way?

  12. People who say there is a shortage of good home Managers/Coaches , where's the shortage? They all work hard around the Country coaching all levels of sides in the game right up to the PL. Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd & Arsenal Head Coaches are foreign, but are they really the best available. What makes the best coach. Because a side wins the PL with the most expensive players available? Phil Parkinson may get his third promotion on the trot after this season, the way things are going. Why not him for best coach? Why not him for England Manager?
  13. Every game in league 2 is going to be tough this year. Notts need to turn around the poor results we have witnessed at home against Gillingham & Port vale. I think Notts need to field their strongest side & this includes McGoldrick starting this match with Jatta. So my side would be Bass, Macari, Platt, Bedeau Abbott, Robertson, Palmer, Gordon Crowley, McGoldrick Jatta. Subs, McDonald, Slocombe, Austin, Brown, Scott, Hinchy, Tsaroulla Let's get our most potent strike force together to try to get an early lead that will force Wimbledon to come out & chase the game, that in turn should create more room for our creative players. Better to have a lead, then have to defend it, rather than concede an early goal & then have to take risks later on. I am hoping for a narrow win that Notts really need. 2:1 Notts.

  16. I don't think big Sam is being controversial. I think he is saying it as it is and unfortunately some people don't like that approach but many do. It just comes down to opinion in the end. If big Sam wanted to start a debate he has certainly done that. Debate is a good thing. I accept that many like the 3-4-2-1 system that Notts generally employ in matches. I love it when Notts are on their game & passing quickly through the lines, instead of times when they are tippy tapping it across the defensive line then making errors. I have a thread on the 3-4-2-1 system. Tuchel prefers the 4-2-3-1 style which is a little similar to the Notts system & style.
  17. I will remember Big Sam with fondness for what he did for this club. No one's perfect. People make mistakes, but even if they left the club in circumstances some didn't like. it's time to move on. I was upset myself when he left, I'm upset when anyone leaves the club. But we move on. But all this about him leaving our club is just a distraction. Big Sam has made some very good remarks & many will listen, even if some won't.
  18. @Piethagoram Foreign coaches won't go into the lower leagues because they simply won't succeed at that level.
  19. One of the best forwards to put on a black and white shirt. We knew he was Championship material & that's where he is now, at time of writing.
  20. In hindsight I think that it was a big mistake allowing young Tienan Brooks to leave the club. He was a very promising goalkeeper & he is certainly doing the business for Gateshead at the moment of writing this reply.
  21. The Reedtz brothers have been a revelation in the history of Notts County as far as I'm concerned. For what they have done for this club they deserve any success that comes their way.
