Match Report: McGoldrick’s Last-Minute Heroics Secure Dramatic Draw for Notts in Derby Thriller
I think that a draw is a fair result. Notts went at their absolute best, but they managed to get a draw out of it at the death, to preserve their unbeaten away record this season. Notts are certainly creating chances, especially in that first half, getting plenty of crosses into the box, they just need to be more incisive in the top half of the field. It's an interesting statistic that Jatta & McGoldrick have played 75 minutes together this season, & Notts have scored 5 goals & conceded 0. Is there a case that they should be playing together from the start? Maynard didn't rule that out in the future. I think it would be a good move if they did play together. They would be a very potent strike partnership.

Notts were not at their best today but managed to scramble a point at the death. I think overall a point was a fair result. Just an interesting stat that Radio Nottingham have revealed. Jatta & McGoldrick have played together just 75 minutes and during that time Notts have scored 5 & conceded 0. I think there's a case for Jatta & McGoldrick to play together from the start.

A Cause For Concern.
I get what you are saying @Wheelbarrow repair man and I agree with your sentiments. As you know, I prefer teams to play the English style, it is a fast game & exciting. I never liked watching Italy in the 70s & 80s, which is the build from the back style. As we've said before, Notts have to be more unpredictable in their style & to keep opponents guessing. Nowadays, players have to adapt to different styles, if they cannot adapt, they will be released. That's unfortunate but that's the state of the modern game. A forward has to be an attacking midfielder, winger & centre back when required in a game. Just look at Nemane, great going forward, but was left wanting in his defensive duties. He was released when a suitable offer came in.

Looks like this team is quite a defensive oriented side today. A workmanlike side, a side to grind a result out, with a pinch of smash and grab.

Stuart Maynard has named his team to face Chesterfield. McGoldrick & McDonald on the bench. No Scott.

David McGoldrick Back in Contention as Stuart Maynard Prepares Notts for Derby with Chesterfield
Massive game today. Notts will be looking for a positive result after two successive home defeats. Notts have shown good away form to date & are still unbeaten & will be keen to continue that run today. Notts have been boosted by the availability of David McGoldrick after being rested. The Notts players should get more room upfront as Chesterfield will want to attack Notts from the start. If Notts can be at their best, they should get a positive result today. I'm hoping for a 2:1 win but will be happy with a draw.
