Out of the candidates available I would prefer Eddie Howe, but the question would be, Would the FA? Like you say @Wheelbarrow repair manwe've seen it all before where the FA just want a "yes" man in charge of England. I say in charge of England, but is he or she really in charge? I noticed that Carsley tried to change a few things on the pitch, & guess what, the England team played crap against Greece. Was it due to the Greeks or was it due to something else closer to home? I expect the latter. The only way individual players can be coached into a good working team is to treat the England team like a club team with players training together over an extended period, but this will never happen. The only alternative is to have the England team made up of players from up to three teams, who knows each other & play together, week in week out. They do this with the Spanish team, & guess what, they win the Euros.

Good morning. Overcast morning here again. Another bout of rain overnight. It's becoming a regular thing now overnight rain. The weather forecast says it's going to be a fine day. Hopefully the clouds will lift then break & we will see some sun later on. In the garden, our flowers are still holding on. Our prairie flowers are so hardy and last for weeks and weeks. This morning there are some Bees on them trying to get the last amounts of nectar left. Interesting to know that Bees usually travel less than a mile from the hive to collect pollen & nectar. The average speed of a Bee through the air is 15 mph, but can fly up to 20 mph.

Lots of fine weather on Sunday

Until an England manager chooses a team to play like a team rather than a bunch of individuals who will never play like a fine honed team, England will continue to fail to win any major international trophies. In my opinion, the problems with being an England manager are two fold. One is FA interference & two is player power, which makes it near on impossible to manage an England team effectively. I have always believed that England managers don't need to select the very best England players to build a team capable of winning tournaments. Unfortunately the powers that be don't agree with my opinion on that score. The FA will want a high profile manager to manage high profile players, so you can bet your bottom dollar that the appointment will finish up being a big foreign name.

Your Sunday Morning Weather

I don't see why Notts have to prefer the one striker model. By all means play that model away from home like they did today until Didzy came on. At home it should be different. Notts need to turn around the recent dip in form at home & I think playing two strikers together will get the opposition thinking. I think your idea @Wheelbarrow repair man of pairing Didzy with Jatta for 60 minutes then bringing on Scott for the last 30 is doable.

The Stats show that Notts score goals & don't concede when Alassana & David play together. Should Stuart have them both starting a match together so they can forge a deadly partnership?

I think it was very close between, Gordon, Abbott & Jatta for man of the match, however I'm going for Alassana Jatta today for his general all round play & for his towering header. He took the chance he was given.

Here is my player shortlist for Notts man of the match. Abbott, Gordon, Robertson, Jatta, Platt, Palmer, & Austin. Abbott had a good game on the right flank for Notts. Got the assist for providing the cross for Jatta Gordon also provided several crosses from the left flank. Robertson was his steady self in the middle of the field. He got forward when he could. Jatta, led the line well once again, he's dangerous with his head, & nearly got clear of the Chesterfield defence on a few occasions. Platt, Was solid at the back & put in a performance that we are expecting from him. Palmer, A big influence in the centre of midfield once again, & leads by example. Austin, Another steady performance by Sam. He always puts in a shift but seems to do his work unnoticed.
