  1. I'm giving a shout out for Sam Austin who has been putting in some excellent performances this season. Sam will play wherever he is placed in the side by Stuart, & he always does a steady job for the side no matter where he plays. He'll also chip in with a few goals, & get a number of assists to his name during the season. I believe Sam is an integral part of the squad & his versatility is going to be invaluable to Notts as the season goes on. Thoughts?
  2. What a great experience for the TNS players & fans. They should be proud of their performance. TNS are giving Welsh football & their league valuable publicity.
  3. Sorry to read your wife & yourself have been unwell @Fan of Big Tone hope you are both feeling better soon. It's a lovely morning here. Plenty of sunshine. The ground is still very wet though. I'm itching to get my lawn cut. It will probably be the last cut before winter, unless we get an Indian summer for a few days. No other plans really apart from the Garden work.

  5. It was a dissapointing end to last season, no one can deny that, but to give Stuart some slack he was basically stuck with the squad that he had until season's end. But during that time I'm sure that Stuart & his coaching team identified the areas where the weaknesses were & the players that needed to be released & retained. I would have thought that Stuart & his coaching staff would have great input on the type of players they wanted to fill the gaps where the team were weak. I think he got what he wanted, but then he had to gel them together into a team which I believe he's done well up to date. I also think that he has ensured that Notts can introduce different styles of play when it's necessary. For example, this side now has flair going forward, but can defend with grit & determination to grind out a result if required. We have seen examples of this this season. A side looking to be successful has to be adaptable to the conditions & the opposition. Let's hope that the great form can continue & this squad can only get better as the season progresses.
  6. @Blake Just looked on Google and they can be dangerous to humans if they feel threatened or fearful. That's why I suppose they want to catch it if possible.
  7. @Blake There are 14 levels with Grand Master being the 14th & top level.
  8. Stuart Maynard has certainly transformed the Notts County fortunes this season so far. Just one defeat in eleven matches since the start of the season. In what ways do PON members believe Notts have improved under Stuart & do you think that he can improve the team even further?
  9. There could be a very strong storm, (ex hurricane) affecting southern parts by Tuesday or Wednesday next week. "1/3 Hurricane Kirk has strengthened to a powerful category 3 hurricane & this loop shows a clearly defined eye & Hurricane Kirk moving northwest at 10 mph in the mid-Atlantic"
  10. This will be another important game for Notts to try to win. The win at Carlisle was a great win which demonstrated the quality of the Notts squad, but also demonstrated their ability to adapt to different styles of play. Notts need to continue that trait against Port Vale too. I suspect that Stuart will try to pick his strongest side once again. McGoldrick will figure after he has been rested in midweek. I expect that Robertson will maintain his place & continue his partnership with Palmer in midfield. I also think that Stuart will retain Austin & Gordon in the first 11. So my team would be Bass, Macari, Platt, Bedeau, Gordon, Tsaroulla, Robertson, Palmer, Crowley, Austin & Jatta. Subs, Slocombe, Cundy McGoldrick, Grant, Scott & Abbott. Key areas will be all over the pitch. Notts will need to adapt and change styles if required. I think it will be a close game but I think that Notts will edge it maybe 2:1.
  11. The same could be said for the situation today.
  12. I think Alex Bass's performance is the best match performance we've seen from a Notts goalkeeper for a while. It's great to know that Notts have a very competent number one between the sticks. Having a good goalkeeper not only prevents conceding goals, but also gives the defence in front of him confidence too. The back line needs a goalkeeper that can command his area & organise his colleagues in defence, & Bass is good at all those things.

  14. Good Morning. Still overcast this morning but the Sun is breaking through. Rather chilly with a definite Autumnal feel to it. Looks like it may be fine enough to get out into the garden for a while & do some tidying up. Have begun walking again after a few weeks rest. Will start off with doing a mile then build up to a couple a day. Other plans will be helping the wife indoors. Did you know? The Royal Manor of Mansfield was held by the King. In 1042, King Edward the Confessor possessed a manor in Mansfield.

  16. Your absolutely right @Wheelbarrow repair man There will always be interest from other clubs if he gets a good number of goals this season. Hopefully he'll help Notts get promoted so we can possibly hold on to him. Of course there will still be interest in Jodi & Dan & even with some of our defenders like Platt & maybe even Alex, if he keeps performing. But that's for the future to deal with. For now let's just enjoy what we have & what the possibilities are with this team.
  17. The Poll is now closed. I'm delighted to announce that the PON Man of the Match v Carlisle with an overwhelming majority is ALEX BASS. Congratulations Alex Thank you to all the PON members that voted.
  18. Update on Alassana's goal total. He's been absolutely phenomenal.
  19. Welcome to our PON community @Jackie May
  20. We didn't know that Jatta or Robertson were fit to play a full game last night till the team sheet came out. It's good that the opposition don't know until an hour before.
