A "classic" own goal from Huddersfield
Must have been watching Notts last season, but it does demonstrate that this tippy tappy football at the back is high risk. That's why clubs employ the high press to try to get freebies like this one.

Where are they now : Jack Barmby
Just 98 appearances for 8 different clubs over a 7 year period. That statistic demonstrates to me that he was never fully settled at a club or simply wasn't good enough with the clubs he played for. Lots of youth players look very good at youth level but never go on to make it at senior level. His time at Notts was unspectacular too.

Raddy booked for "Ungentlemanly conduct" 1979
They don't call it ungentlemanly conduct anymore. It's a professional foul now. Googled it. "If a goalkeeper handles the ball outside of their penalty area, it's a handball offense that's penalised with a direct free kick. The goalkeeper may also receive a yellow card if a promising attack was stopped, or a red card if a goal or goal-scoring opportunity was denied".

Weekly Chat 23rd to 29th September.
As @Fan of Big Tone is on holiday, I've continued his chat thread for him this week. Good afternoon everyone. It's a miserable murky Monday here with occasional rain, & a little windy. Looks like being an at home day. Maybe watch a DVD later. Just bought an Errol Flynn collection. Think I'll watch "The Adventures of Robin Hood" I good old swashbuckler film will brighten up the day.

The poll has now closed. Thank you to all PON members who participated in the poll. I can announce that the Notts Man of the Match against Gillingham, with an overwhelming majority, is JACOB BEDEAU for his solid defensive performance. Pride of Nottingham - Notts County Community WWW.FACEBOOK.COM ????????Jacob Bedeau has been voted as the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match for his solid defensive performance in Notts' narrow 1-0 defeat to Gillingham. Well deserved despite the result!????????????????️...- Worcester City v Notts County Women
From the beginning of the match, Worcester piled on the pressure for long periods in the first half, however the Notts back line held firm. Worcester had a couple of chances they could have done better with, but Notts women are much more organised this season & they demonstrated grit & determination to keep Worcester out in that first half. Notts came out in the second half & Qaintance ratted the nar for Notts in the 47 th minute & Notts were on top at that stage. Notts got the deserved breakthrough in the 65 th minute when substitute Russell crossed for HARDY to volley home. Notts got a 2nd in the 78 th minute when KNOTT got the final touch from a corner by Brooks. Worcester got a goal back in the 81 st minute. There were some nervous moments before the end, but Notts held out & get their first away win this season. This was a very good win on the road by Notts Women against a spirited team that had been promoted last season.- Worcester City v Notts County Women

Update. Back to it.- Stuart Maynard Reflects on Frustrating Defeat Against Gillingham: "We Deserved More"
Overall Notts were the better side & had several opportunities to score that on another day they would have done. Gillingham came with a game plan to defend, & execute a high press on us, & try to capitalise on mistakes or hit us on the break. The plan for them worked perfectly, but Notts can be positive with their performance. Notts did many things right & could easily have won 3:1. Jodi's injury near the end is a concern, & Notts did miss Alassana Jatta too. He gives Notts an outlet & Notts missed his finishing on Saturday. Onward to Morecambe & back to winning ways next week.- Worcester City v Notts County Women
It's goalless at the break. Worcester Women 0 Notts 0 Notts have had to defend lots of periods of pressure from Worcester. A good defensive performance by Notts in the first half. Big second half to come- Worcester City v Notts County Women
