  1. This is the Notts team for tonight's match. Dissapointing that Bass isn't playing and it doesn't appear to be our strongest 11 starting. We will have Jatta, Crowley, Scott and Platt included on the bench.
  2. Notts County Women make their second signing of the day.
  3. I think that Jacob Bedeau is a brilliant signing for Notts & I believe he can be a very important part of our defence this season. The early impressions of him in the Notts County black and white are very good He looks very calm on the ball and that has been something that has been lacking last season. I hope that he can forge a great defensive partnership with Macari & Platt. If that can happen, and what we have already seen is encouraging, Notts will be very stingy at the back this season. The fact that he will be able to cover as left wing back is big as well because it gives Notts options at the back especially if someone has to go off either tactically or through injury. Exciting times ahead for Notts.
  4. Our B team begin their league season with a 2:1 win over Chelmsford City, with goals from Sanderson and Edwards in the second half.
  5. Sanderson on the score sheet for Notts B in the second half. In the first half Notts B dominated but didn't take their chances.
  6. B team line up for the match v Chelmsford City at Keyworth today. Sanderson is playing.
  7. Sorry to hear this. Thank you so much for letting us all know. We are all thinking of you @AmericanPie
  8. First competitive match day for the B team tomorrow at Keyworth, when the Notts play Chelmsford City at 2pm.
  9. Welcome to our PON community @Countylad
  10. I'm very pleased with the performance. To get a clean sheet in our first away match compared to conceding 5 last season marks a big sea change for me. Standouts for me are Alex Bass & Jacob Bedeau who I believe will be big for the club this season. Special credit for the whole team & substitutes for working hard, keeping it tight, and nearly stealing the match at the end. Stuart needs a mention too, for picking his starting eleven and the substitutions that he made in the second half that nearly proved a game changer. That's what Notts were missing last season. Players that can come on and make a difference. That's another big sea change. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves but first impressions are very positive.
  11. Jeff Astle was an incredible player for his time & Notts can be rightly proud that they discovered a real gem that would go on and make footballing history with West Bromwich Albion. Jeff left Notts a few years before my time of watching Notts, but I did see him playing on the telly & it was a pleasure to do so Jeff's work ethic reminds me a lot of a player that has just left us, Macaulay Langstaff. Macca has similar traits to Jeff and I can see Macca scoring many more goals just as Jeff did when he left Notts. It was sad that Jeff left this life prematurely, but what a legacy he has left football. His death has also put into the spotlight the dangers of heading a football which can lead to dementia in later life. We are now seeing safety features introduced into junior football to reduce the risk of dementia in later life.
  12. I'm very encouraged by the Notts performance especially at the back. Such a massive look to the side as well as a massive result & a clean sheet. I must say that Bass looks very good and I thought he commanded his area very well. And that back line, what a difference they made and will continue to make during the season. And with a bit of more luck, Notts could have even won the game in those last fifteen minutes. Last word regarding Stuart Maynard, his team selection was good and his substitutions nearly made a difference. All in all I'm very pleased with the performance & long may it continue.
  13. Notts had a positive result at Tranmere & it would be great if Notts can do the same against Shrewsbury. It's a Cup match so I'm sure that Stuart may make a few changes to the starting 11 to give the squad players more playing time. I would prefer that Notts field their most strongest side initially because it is important that Stuart's first 11 continue to gel as a team. If the players are fit I would continue with the same 11 that started against Tranmere. I know that people always talk about the possibility of a player getting an injury, but that applies to any game or even on the training pitch A clean sheet against Shrewsbury would really boost the confidence around the squad, & Notts are due to have a good result against higher opposition. Let's try to get a good cup run going that can bring in some extra revenue for the Club. If we don't concede any goals I would be very happy. A 1:0 win would be great.
  14. I'm happy with this result. A clean sheet and chances to win it late on. Looking forward to our next match.
  15. Goalless at half time. Happy with that. Tranmere 0 Notts 0
  16. @Wheelbarrow repair man Agree, Macca put the goals away but he had such a great supply route with Crowley, Jones, McGoldrick, & Nemane plus the rest of the Notts team.
  17. Langstaff today. 28 minutes.0 goals, 0 Shots, 0 Assists Result. Millwall 2 Watford 3
  18. Stuart Maynard picks his first side for the first game of the season. So many injuries to start the season. Concerning that Palmer has picked up an injury again. Looks like Chicksen on the left and Jones on the right. I'm a little worried about getting exposed on the flanks.
