Just to let you know, I have always found your videos on Notts entertaining and informative put together by an ordinary Notts fan like yourself, who clearly loves his club. I for one would certainly miss your input if it wasn't there & I'm sure many others would too, but you have to do what's best for you mate. As Wheelbarrow repair man said, maybe step back from the videos for a while, or maybe do the occasional special until you decide what to do. Your input on social media is always well informed & interesting, & you are a valuable member of PON too. Just an afterthought. What you give to your YouTube videos are the thoughts & opinions of a commited & loyal Notts County fan That's why people watch them because Notts fans can identify with your thoughts & feedback on what you are seeing & thinking from the terraces.- So What Changed ? Lambs To Magpies.
Found this from searching the web on the subject.. Quite a lot of info on "the lambs" https://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38283606 So it appears "The Lambs" was probably nicknamed by Notts fans who were from the working class & the less well off The Notts owners were from the well to do, so they probably didn't like the nickname and changed the Notts colours to black and white shirts that gave Boots the new nickname of "the Magpies".- So What Changed ? Lambs To Magpies.
@Wheelbarrow repair man I didn't know this subject had been covered before either. It doesn't matter. You did ok to bringing the subject up. There will be probably lots of new PON members that didn't know either. Trying to research it online to get the most accurate account.- An Introduction To Ryley Reynolds
I don't think that sending young players out on loan actually does anything for their development. I really do believe that a club should introduce a young player like Ryley at the very beginning of a season like Notts have done. Play Ryley in the preseason friendlies & if he performs well, like it looks as if he has done, get him on the bench for the league matches, & bring him on as a substitute at some point. I would also give him a start in the Cup matches too Ryley knows the Notts system of playing and can easily fit into it. Alex Ferguson was a Manager who put his trust in young players and it worked for him big time. Some team in the future will benefit from his undoubted talent. Why shouldn't it be Notts?- So What Changed ? Lambs To Magpies.
@Wheelbarrow repair man I found this online through Google. "Who were the Nottingham Lambs? By the late 1830s, the beer-swilling louts who followed bare-knuckle fighter William Thompson, known as Bendigo, himself a terrible drinker and brawler, became known as the Nottingham Lambs".- Cartoon Corner.

I understand from information online that "the Lambs" weren't meant to be meek at all. The name was allegedly derived from an infamous gang of Nottingham thugs. So the Notts team had a reputation as being a tough team in those days, certainly not a team of lambs to the slaughter, as the name may suggest.- Game 5: 20/20 Notts Outlaws v Lancs Lightening
@gtownjohnno It's been a season to forget for the Outlaws. They need a complete rebuild for next season.- An Unhappy Football Memory
My daughter was a keen Forest Fan, yes that's right, & it's a long story why she chose Forest over Notts. Well I was lucky to have a mate who had two tickets for the Liverpool v Forest semi final on 15th April 1989. So I bought them off him and we all went to the match together & little did we know that the biggest tragedy to hit English football was about to unfold when we went through those Kop end turnstiles. It will be a day that I will never ever forget nor will my daughter who was 12 years old at the time. I don't like talking too much about that day but I thought it was important to reveal that my daughter & I saw everything unfold & it's terrible aftermath. And it has had a lasting impression on both of us & all those who were there & witnessed it that day.- Welcome Mark Holland
Welcome @Mark Holland to our friendly PON community. Great to see you here.- Notts County Women updates
H. McLean's first session as first team coach & his early thoughts.- An Introduction To Ryley Reynolds
Ryley top of the pile for minutes.- Stuart Maynard. I'm Still Not Sure.
Stuart Maynard now owns the team. He has seven new players to play with. There is no longer any excuse. Stuart has to mould the new players into this team, plus any more that Notts may recruit before the beginning of the season. If the team don't perform it is down solely to him now, however I have every confidence that Stuart will succeed next season. We have seen encouraging signs that the defence is much tighter now. I just want to see Didzy & Scott get on the score sheet before the season starts.- An Introduction To Ryley Reynolds
He's played every friendly game so that's encouraging. If Notts only have 18 fit players to play Tranmere, that won't be good. We haven't seen Sanderson feature yet. Looks like Ryley is gone in front of Sanderson in the pecking order, although it's hard to tell with Notts. They don't give much sway.- Groovy Tunes: A Journey Through the 70s Music Trivia
@Fan of Big Tone we should have a 60s and 70s music era quiz. A quarter of the questions here I hadn't a clue.- Cartoon Corner.
