  2. Of course it goes without saying that once the season begins, we will all get behind the players and the team. Even without those players that have left & the ones that may leave, we will still have a very strong squad to challenge for promotion. I am also sure that we haven't seen the last of the incomings either. Maybe another central defender, a right footed wing back, & a striker, (if Macca goes) would complete the squad for me. Of course fans will be disappointed if Macca goes, but we will get over it, we always do. That's just being a football fan.
  3. @True Magpie @BromPie @Joshua I'd just like to point out that Kyle has gone to Saint Johnstone on loan so it has to be a Notts decision, with the agreement of Kyle to become a loan player temporarily. He's not permanently gone, he's out on loan. Surely he would have asked for a permanent transfer if he wanted to leave.
  4. My most favourite films are the older ones. White Heat. Angels With Dirty Faces Rebecca Withering heights How Green is my valley Ben Hur The Ten Commandments The Adventures of Robin Hood Captain Blood They Died with their Boots on The Greatest Show on Earth King Kong (1933) Gone with the Wind Mutiny on the Bounty. It's a Wonderful Life The Searchers. The Outlaw Josey Wales I could go on but those are my timeless favourites.
  5. A really nice article @Chris and time doesn't make it less so. I feel I've got to know you better after reading it. That's why I enjoy reading some of the posts from PONs past. These Articles are timeless and shouldn't be hidden away in the past.

Very nice article @super_ramArticles like these are timeless and are just as relevant now as I write, as they were when you wrote this excellent piece.. It wouldn't hurt if you republished this on PON for new members to read.????

A fantastic piece of work there @super_ram. Why don't you publish again with an updated version.? This is a great price of work that shouldn't be hidden back in time like this.
  8. @menzinho I've always thought that the Scottish premier league top 4/5 teams are English Championship standard, the rest are league 1 at best, the Scottish Championship league 1/ 2 standard and the rest of the Scottish league structure equivalent to National league North and South. So I would say Kyle is going to a league 1 standard club, who has a chance to get into Europe. That's the difference.
  9. The news that Kyle Cameron had been loaned out to St Johnstone of the Scottish Premier League came as a bit of a shock to me. Of course, Kyle will have to fight for a place, & prove himself worthy of a place in the St Johnstone team. But what an opportunity for Kyle to be part of a team that will be mixing with the big boys such as Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen & Dundee United. Celtic & Rangers will be mixing with the big boys of Europe too, so on paper it looks to be a dream move for Kyle and I wish him well. Kyle moving on loan to a higher standard of football does raise a question from me. If Kyle wasn't deemed good enough to fight for his place in a league 2 team in England, how does it work that he is let go to play for a team in a higher standard league? For me it's surprising because if Cameron had been able to play in a Notts side with better standard defenders as it appears this season, wouldn't Kyle have been able to fit comfortably into that defensive unit too? I think he could easily have done, and I think it is a big loss to Notts, his going up north this season. I think it was a strange decision by Notts to let him go.
  10. 56 races since Lewis Hamilton's last win in a Grand Prix race and he goes and does it at his home race at Silverstone. You just couldn't make it up.
  11. Lewis Hamilton wins the British Grand Prix.

  13. @gtownjohnno This 20/20 season has been the worse for Notts, 2 wins only, since it's inception. They need a serious rebuild. Hales is past his peak. Last year's team was broken up to quickly.
  14. I concur with this post on X. I would rather Macca stay for three years and get nothing for him on a free than sell him for £700K now.
  15. If Notts were to get £700K for Macca, which I believe is far too low even with add ons, which may never materialize if Macca doesn't move on to a bigger club than Millwall, I can't see Notts getting a striker even remotely comparable to Macca for less than £700K. So I question what the Notts motive is. We know the Nest cost around a £1million to renovate. Does Notts need this cash quickly? We were lead to believe that Notts are on a reasonable financial footing. Everything was seemingly going well for Notts, like the players coming in, the Nest, the new pitch, & the good season ticket sales. It just seems over this last couple of weeks that things haven't been so positive, with some players leaving. To get promotion we need a strong squad of 25 players, A few weeks ago we were getting towards having that. We certainly need some more players to come in before the season begins, otherwise, if we get early injuries, the squad depth could prove a problem again.
  16. @True Magpie I agree, I was thinking on the same lines last night Waiting for the season ticket renewals to be almost complete would appear to be a cynical move by the Club if it's true that Macca has been sold and for a very low price too. To me if it's true, that price is an insult.
  17. £700K is not even covering the cost of the Nest, which was around £1million. £700K is just not enough for such a quality player
  18. @menzinho I hope you're right
  19. @Super_Danny_Allsopp Agree, at that price it's giving Macca away. If it's true, what are Notts playing at? Jodi is worth more than that.
  20. I think we've seen too much of "walking football" in this tournament.Could it be because the players are so tired at the end of a long season. Although it didn't affect Turkey, Georgia or Albania. Is there a case for having the Euro Championships before the full time season begins?
