  1. A good day for our tennis juniors in Australia.
  2. So this is going to be the big game when Stuart takes charge of Notts for the first time. We have seen on other threads the footballing philosophy of Steve in action for Wealdsone and I'm sure he's going to put some of his thinking in place for the Barrow game. I expect that he will go for a back 3 supported by two wingbacks & a defensive midfielder in front of the back 3. The wingbacks will have to ensure they track back when we lose possession. Stuart will be more cautious than Luke when it comes to attacking and possibly won't commit players forward in numbers, this may reduce our attacking potency a little, however the big benefit will be defensively. Better to win 2:1 than 4:3 I would be happy with a draw, but hope for a 2:1 win which would be absolutely huge for us. Looking forward to this Saturday. It won't be long coming.
  3. Weather update from BBC Weather. Yellow warnings still in place across the Country for strong winds.
  4. Match day. Midweek Ice Hockey tonight. Panthers v Glasgow Clan.
  5. Catch up on all the latest Brit action from the Australian Open.
  6. Neal Skupski & Desirae Krawczyk are Australian Open Mixed Doubles Finalists.
  7. Storm Jocelyn is moving away.
  8. More excellent work by Tom Williams giving a tactical analysis on Wealdsone while under Stuart Maynard. This is revealing stuff and demonstrates again why the Reedtz brothers chose him has Head Coach for Notts.
  9. Latest forecast for Weds 24th Jan. Another windy start to Wednesday.
  10. Great News for Panthers fans. Panthers have signed experienced Canadian forward Anthony Luciani until the end of the season. His acquisition will strengthen the side. More info in the link below.
  11. Rain clearing eastward this evening. Staying very windy though.
  12. A few years ago they were just weather fronts, now they are named storms. They are not any more intense than when they were just weather fronts. It just seems that way when they are named. I suppose naming them gets people's attention, that's possibly what they want.
  13. Storm Jocelyn has arrived
  14. Panthers Face Glasgow tomorrow and Sheffield on Saturday at the Motorpoint Arena. Two wins are vital.
  15. Neil Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk are into the mixed doubles semi-final in Melbourne.
  16. Latest Weather forecast.
  17. I agree @True Magpie I would like Notts to be more cautious and less adventurous up front. Notts are an entertaining team, but I do dislike the tendancy to involve in ping pong football with the opposition. We've seen a lot of that during the last dozen games or so when Notts have found themselves behind to defensive errors and are then forced to throw caution to the wind. I hope Stuart can change that.
  18. I believe Jaden Warner is going to be a really good signing for Notts, his hight being 6ft 4ins, his pace and skill on the ground is just what Notts need at the back. He's very comfortable going forward and has played on the left or right of defence for Norwich. Jaden has three days or so to train with his new team mates before the Barrow match on Saturday. I would like him to go straight into the side on Saturday but he'll probably be on the bench for that game. Incidentally, Jaden has been used to playing in a back 4 at Norwich rather than a back 3. I still believe Stuart will make some subtle changes to the way we shape up for Barrow, to plug those gaps on transition when we lose possession high up the pitch. Can't wait till Saturday.
  19. Latest weather forecast for Tuesday from the MET office.
  20. Latest weather from the MET Office.
  21. Good day for Junior Brits. Brits through to the 3rd round of the Junior Australian Open. Hannah Klugman secured a 6-1, 6-2 win over Alana Subasic. Mimi Xu fought back to beat Vittoria Paganetti 6-7, 6-4, 6-2. Mika Stojsavljevic defeated Teodora Kostovic 6-1, 6-2.
  22. I agree @allardyces tash Stuart's personality is different to Luke's. I think Stuart's approach may be what the team needs, but we'll have to wait and see.
  23. I agree with your sentiments @Chris as I've already said, I think the extra time with the players before Barrow can only be a positive.
  24. Ice Hockey, Winter Olympic Qualification. GB have named their team for next month's men's Olympic Qualifiers in Cardiff. Head Coach Pete Russell has named a 22-player roster with forwards Cam Critchlow, Sean Norris and Brandon Whistle set to win full debut caps at the tournament. https://www.icehockeyuk.co.uk/gb-squad-announced-for-mens-olympic-qualifiers/
