  3. Notts beaten today in a match that they needed to win to have any chance of remaining in the frame for automatic promotion. So who impressed you the most for Notts today? I have chosen players from the starting eleven for you to make your choice. Belshaw, Ness, Macdonald, Bedeau, Bennetts, Palmer, Norburn, Jones, Iorpenda, Dennis, Ndlovu.
  4. Seven defeats in the last 13 matches isn't going to get promotion. We may well clinch a playoff place due to the remaining fixtures affecting the top eight, but it just seems the same as last season. When the team needed their best form during the last dozen games, it just looks like they haven't been able to cope with the extra pressure which has affected performances. And losing to ANOTHER physical, high intensity, hard working team is becoming a common occurrence unfortunately. I think that ensuring that they win a playoff place has to be the priority now. A Cambridge win against Grimsby might be the best result for Notts. Grimsby remains a threat because they can catch us & their goal difference is almost equal to Notts's. A win at Colchester will assure Notts of a playoff place provided that Cambridge beat Grimsby in midweek.

  13. There are two types of possession football as far as I'm concerned. possession without penetration or with penetration. Notts demonstrated the former to the full last Saturday. Pretty football is nice to watch but for me it's not the be all or end all. Football is all about scoring goals & a team doesn't get points for 71% possession. I still believe that the continental style has had too much influence on the English game. Bromley have shown that the physical approach & direct style is still effective & can bring success.

  16. I think that last Saturday's match against Cambridge, demonstrated that possession is not the be all or end all when it comes to being successful in a football match. If the players are not motivated to play their socks off to win this match then they shouldn't be playing in the black and white. It's as simple as that. Hopefully, there will be a good crowd to cheer them over the line. The crowd can play a big part in doing that because it will be a very hard match against a side that is 2nd in the form league.
  17. Final score . Bromley 0 Cambridge 0. Bromley have still not secured promotion. Notts can still overtake them if results go in Notts favour. The pressure is back on Cambridge. They do have an awkward last three games & Bromley's last two are not a given Latest League table.
  18. I'm sorry but if the absence is due to a suspension for serious foul play, the club should forfeit the use of a professional goalkeeper. Injuries yes, suspensions no.

  23. I can only think that it is a loophole that the EFL have not addressed. It's not that it seems very unfair, this development could also decide who gets the third promotion place if this guy has a blinder against Bromley. Other clubs will be looking at this situation very carefully. I googled for more info and this is what I got in reply. "EFL clubs are allowed to bring in emergency loans—specifically for goalkeepers—to ensure the integrity of the competition when all professional goalkeepers are unavailable due to injury, suspension, or international duty. These rules, managed by the EFL, prevent a club from being forced to play an outfield player in goal". So now it seems goalkeepers are treated differently to outfield players.
  24. So now clubs can get an emergency loan when they get a player suspended for being sent off.
