  1. Favourite Player Right Now: David McGoldrick Most Consistent Performer So Far: Matt Palmer Rising Star in the Squad [Not Including Loanees]: Charlie Whitaker looks to be a great prospect. Most Improved Player Recently: Conor Grant Best Player in Each Position: Bass, Bedeau, Jones and McGoldrick Who is your all-time favourite Notts County player and why? Mark Stallard If you could have dinner with any current Notts County player, who would it be and why? Alex Bass, I get the impression he's very serious and would want to finish his dinner before leaving. Making potential conversational talk interesting. What's your favourite Notts County chant or song? We've got Michael Doyle and Jimmy in the middle, really grew on me. If you could relive any moment in Notts County history, what would it be and why? I would love to go back and experience the first game I attended. It might not mean much to others, but as the match that made me a Notts fan, it holds a special place in my heart. What's the furthest you've travelled to watch a Notts County game? I would say
  2. My free time is still mostly spent working and dealing with issues outside my office hours. Football is one of my only escapes, but I do make time for my family. On rare occasions, we go out for day trips. I used to walk around Wollaton Park when my children were younger, but it has been a few years, especially since COVID. I have quarterly meet-ups with friends, where we go out for a meal, but to be honest, it’s not particularly exciting.
  3. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Lullapie. It's great to have you join our community, and we hope you enjoy being part of it.
  4. It's an interesting discussion. I’d like to believe that Notts are capable of staying in League One, but some effort would definitely be needed. The club would have to ensure that the squad can deliver goals across the whole team, especially in midfield and attack. If the club can work their magic like they did at the start of the season, I’d back them to get it right. However, we need to be cautious about injuries and perhaps avoid bringing in players with a history of them. As for the fans, most would likely understand what’s required and recognise that the club is trying to move forward. We've been fortunate in recent years, but if we want to see Championship football again one day, we need to support the club as it progresses, rather than holding it back.
  5. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @ASHLEY GUY. We are a community that loves discussing and debating all things Notts. I hope you’ll join in and share your thoughts with us.
  6. Where is the motivation to get the best out of Junior Morias? While he’s a professional, his morale must have taken a hit after being recalled and realising he hasn’t been given much of a chance before. What will change now? I feel this season should have been the deciding factor on whether Morias can step up, and I truly believe he’s been mismanaged. It’s disappointing to see a footballer treated so poorly by the club I support. If the club didn’t think he was good enough, they should have worked harder to move him on, rather than relying on him in desperation. This does little for his morale, confidence, or career while tied to Notts. We can only hope he gets a proper chance now and wish him well if he does.

  8. A crucial game, with the outcome adding to the disappointment of not making the first half count. The late flagging for offside against Jatta’s goal was irritating. How many touches did he need to take before the assistant decided he was offside? It was the correct call based on the footage, but from the Kop, it was hard to tell during the match. It was good to see Sam Slocombe able to play to his strengths. However, there were many times when nobody wanted the ball, and when Kellan Gordon was free, he was either unsupported or heavily marked. The routine of releasing the ball is very predictable, and this remains the same when Alex Bass is in goal. I don’t believe Lewis Macari is always the best pairing alongside Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau, but I thought Platt was off his game as well. The first half was a good contest between two teams, with Notts enjoying the majority of possession. However, there are no real threats unless they come from open play. Chesterfield adjusted well in the second half and punished us for mistakes that should have been dealt with better. It’s bitterly disappointing to lose in this way, but it’s football. I think Stuart Maynard could have brought some balance by making at least one substitution earlier. Despite Jatta’s chances, I thought he drifted out of the game towards the end of the first half and, in the second half, almost appeared lazy. He needs to stay more engaged with the game and show better movement. There were several occasions when crosses came into the box, but he was out of position. It’s not "idleness," but it comes across as laziness when, in truth, it’s a lack of awareness or hunger to change the game’s outcome.

  10. Hello, @Michael Bramley. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham! You don't have to be an active Notts fan to be involved, just share your thoughts to what you think. You would be surprised just how much taking part could get you up to speed with Notts. We are a friendly group. When you can, my guide to the site might help you settle in further.
  11. Hello, @arb. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I know there is a lot going on with the site, but when you settle please take a read of this guide.
  12. @Fan of Big Tone, no worries. You are away but thank you for still helping. We'll need to make sure others within the team can look out for this as it would provide a better experience for members. As a team, we all should be chipping in when others are away or something needs help.
  13. Sorry, I have been busy with work and somehow I overlooked this. I will pass the information onto Chris for him to look into the server issues. Thanks, Robbie. Thanks Tone. Was there an exact error or code? Just so I can assist Chris better.
  14. Port Vale will be a tough game with them making a push to sustain a playoff push. I don't know much about their squad or its depth. Vale can be a team that does well, but I think it will come down to how Notts manage to perform away from home. Start brightly, assert a strong hold on the midfield play and defensively start well. Then I think Notts would be more focused on being creative. Having a brief look at Vale's results, it does look like they struggle at times defensively but I am reminded that the same can be said about us despite a strong focus towards defending. I think it will be a big game for the likes of Alex Bass and Alassana Jatta, respectively. Notts taking the lead would force the game to be played open but conceding could come if a sluggish start is made. Both teams could very well cancel each other out. A lot has changed since our last encounter with them, but it will be difficult.
  15. I have featured the topic. I will speak to the team to try to make sure this happens sooner, and in a moment, I will update the news ticker. The gaffer, @Chris, is travelling with his family to a concert, so he won't be around. I have voted for Charlie Whitaker. I think George Abbott is offering him guidance into settling, and the whole squad seems to be supporting him. Whitaker played very well yesterday; he's growing in his role nicely.
  16. I know, the gaffer [@Chris] has spoken to the team about making videos of two features I am going to follow up with in this guide. However, I believe they are valuable for making the Pride of Nottingham your go-to site to discuss Notts County. Firstly: Some might think there are too many forums, but we prefer things to be organised. Allowing members to post content in the right place creates a better user experience. You can participate in any forum this way and avoid the topics you don't want to see. Let me show you a feature that seems to be overlooked. If you visit the community forums page, a short scroll down will allow you to choose how you want the index page to look. Members who want all the topics in one easy-to-view layout can simply toggle the default view. Here's a quick demonstration on how to do it. This opens a forums option in the sidebar, where you can toggle off forums if you wish to remove those topics from showing. This is just outside of view to the right [It is there though]. Go check it out! Additionally, Chris has created a hub for visitors called the 'Dashboard'. This gives a quick overview of all the content, from articles, forum topics, blogs, statuses, moods, etc. Scroll down, and you will see a widget titled "Latest Discussions". To the right, you will see a cog where you can further customise this block by limiting which forums you wish to see posts from. Here's how to do it. Now you will see two easy-to-use ways that can personalise your browsing experience on the Pride of Nottingham. As a devoted fan site for Notts County, we value your involvement and encourage all fans to get on board. As you will see, a lot of effort goes into the site from the admin team, moderators, writers, and members. In the next post, I will guide members through their settings and profile setup to ensure the best possible experience.
  17. The Welsh League Cup, with teams from outside the Welsh Leagues but are Welsh playing in England. I don't get the point of the competition. It would put them at risk of losing to teams with EFL funding, which does not compare to the money the Welsh league brings in. If a competition has a disadvantage like this, it doesn't make sense.
  18. I can't see @Robbie's post, but I assumed Aidan Stone had signed for someone, and he has. He's joined Yeovil Town, which is a good move for him, I feel.
  19. I am confused as to why they even spent money on appointing a manager who was already in management. Although he probably would have been sacked by now if he was still at MK Dons, it makes me wonder if Carlisle are not just panicking due to the results. It's going to be hard for them to steer themselves to safety; a new manager will basically have to start again.
  20. I do agree, it is a shame that Junior Morias is very unlikely to feature again for Notts. I am not sure what to make of the club's recent habit of signing players, playing them a few times, and then discarding them even when there is a reason to keep them around. The hype we had from signing him leading into the Play-Offs, for him not to be featured and ruled out as injured to only getting some minutes. It makes the signing very wasteful, especially since the club paid money. Surely we didn't sign him to prevent his signature being captured elsewhere and give us more momentum? I don't know, I could be wrong, and Notts might give him a chance, but a number of players have been shown the door under contract just to be pushed out. Adam Chicksen, Aidan Stone, Will Randall, etc.
  21. This signing looks to be both intriguing and promising. Although his record might not match Jatta's, I can see potential in him. He’s definitely a player I believe Notts can develop further. If he’s as quick as they say, it would certainly intimidate League Two defenders, as well as those in higher leagues. Being at the right age to be nurtured and encouraged, I believe he’ll make a significant impact. It's great to see the club exploring talent outside the EFL. I have no doubt Notts fans will warmly welcome him from day one. I am eager to see Mai Traore on the field and representing the club in a Notts shirt.
  22. He's right to praise David McGoldrick, he's been a revolution this season. By himself, he has changed the outcome of games and has been one of the most consistent players throughout the 2024-25 League Two campaign. It's great to see him doing so well because when a player returns to the teams they started with, just like Michael Johnson did in the 2000s, it brings everyone just that bit closer. Didzy is incredible, and I wouldn't rule him out of playing some part next year, depending on if it works for us and him.
  23. This seems like a very interesting and exciting signing. His record might not be comparable to Jatta, but I can see a player in the making. He's certainly someone I can see Notts bringing more out of, and if it's true he's very quick, that alone would scare League Two defenders, as it would higher up. He's at the right age to be encouraged to shine, so I believe he will be a hit. No doubt Notts fans will make him feel welcome from day one. It's good to see the club explore options outside the EFL, so I look forward to seeing Mai Traore on the pitch and in a Notts shirt.
  24. @menzinho I think playing overseas when you haven't quite established yourself within your own league system can be a daunting thing. Dan Crowley popped over to the Netherlands and found some success on his journey, and we are starting to see more Brits try it out. Curtis Edwards had that encounter which only happens once in a lifetime, and he took it not just with both hands but he put all his effort into it.
