  1. The club has embarked on an ambitious project, but I believe they can make it work. Having a central fan zone is a fantastic idea, and I don’t think it will significantly affect other businesses. It simply means that other places will be less crowded. I’m looking forward to its unveiling. It would have been an excellent spot to celebrate our promotion last season.
  2. I’m hoping there won’t be many alterations to the team. Despite the loss, they put up a good fight and until Scott Robertson was sent off against Crawley, the game seemed to be in our favour. Sam Slocombe has proven his worth in the team, standing out with some crucial saves. Will Charlie Colkett get a chance? We haven’t seen much of him during his loan period here. I agree that Sam Austin has been excellent since joining the side. Most of the team picks itself, so I guess one of the current issues is the lack of robust replacements in certain areas.
  3. I’m only acquainted with one person here, so I feel a bit on the outskirts, but numerous members have given me a warm welcome. This welcoming attitude is clearly ingrained in the existing community, but it can still be intimidating for newcomers. You need to keep an open mind, as there’s a learning curve when using any website, and I believe it’s worth persevering here. The team members I’ve interacted with have all been fantastic. I aspire to become fully integrated within the community and will do my part to make that happen.
  4. Stuart Maynard performed admirably at Wealdstone. Many people are quick to criticise their defence, but they operate on a highly competitive budget, which is only enhanced by their success in competing with teams that have much more to offer players. Therefore, I can understand why we recruited him and I believe it's worth trying to weather this particularly rough patch. It's more than just a minor setback at the moment, but that doesn't mean Maynard can't turn things around. Let's be clear, I am ambitious, but I think the course this season has taken warrants reflection. We started off very brightly and have been affected in many ways, through injuries, the loss of Luke Williams, match officials, leading to fan trouble, and much more. Dismissing a manager at this stage could lead to further defeats itself, as people take time to settle in and to understand the talent they have. Considering all these issues existed before Maynard, I am more inclined to think that they will also follow him if he is dismissed. It's important to sometimes stand by your head coach. I think Steve Cooper and Forest are a good example. They looked destined to be relegated, and while Maynard hasn't yet earned promotion here, he has with Wealdstone, so I can see the similarities with him stepping up into a more competitive division.
  5. I sincerely hope you read this. As a newcomer to the site and someone trying to take on a role that benefits the community, I naturally want to check in and see if you’re alright? Secondly, I wish you a swift recovery to the best health possible, @Piethagoram. I hope your discomfort subsides and that you can move about freely. The only pain you should be feeling right now is related to Notts. Take care!
  6. I believe VAR needs to be controlled efficiently from behind the scenes, where decisions can be relayed quickly based on what they observe, allowing the officials to apply the rules correctly. The problem is, many officials seem hesitant to make quick decisions and spend too much time near the screens, causing further delays in the game.
  7. Barrow appeared strong when they were able to create opportunities or control the game. I don’t blame them for their hard work as each player contributed significantly, showcasing their potential. Regrettably, we also saw the less appealing side of their game when they began to lose control. Their players became very aggressive and argumentative, often crowding around the referee. This behaviour doesn’t reflect well on a Football League club. However, when they focused on playing football, they were impressive. I thought Notts should have pushed harder for a second goal.
  8. Notts showed significant improvement in their defence. Expecting rapid changes is unrealistic as it’s challenging for a new manager like Stuart Maynard to completely transform the team instantly. In my view, Maynard’s approach is commendable. I don’t foresee any of the loaned players joining the team soon. It seems Maynard prefers to rely on the players who are permanently at the club. His squad selection made a lot of sense, although I was hoping to see Jaden Warner start. I believe we will, but it might take a few games into Maynard’s tenure.
  9. The foul seemed to be aimed solely at taking down Jodi Jones. The Barrow player was nowhere near the ball. It was a fast and reckless lunge at Jodi. In my opinion, it deserved more than just a yellow card. The whole incident was unnecessary and unpleasant to witness.
  10. It’s heartening to hear that all the players are making steady progress. We must remember that their return will depend on their readiness, and this can change. Seeing them back in the gym and on the pitch will be a more significant indicator of their recovery. Some might not reach this stage until the season’s end, but that’s okay. Despite the uncertainties, it’s reassuring that the medical staff have addressed this.
  11. One of the FA Cup winners for us? All these players should be honoured at the club, especially if they do open a museum. They have brought the greatest honour to the club, which is the FA Cup win. It will be years before we get that close again.
  12. This is fantastic! The stadium looks remarkable in Lego. Truly impressive!
  13. Apart from his debut, I can’t say I know much about Jaden Warner, and I assume this is the same for most fans. It would be interesting to hear what Norwich fans think of him. It might be worth a look at one of their fan forums, but I’m eager to see how he fits into the team.
  14. It’s wonderful to see a young lad given an opportunity and then a professional contract. That’s exactly what we, as fans, want to see. The ball is now in James Sanderson’s court. I hope he seizes any opportunities that come his way. He appears to be a unique talent.
  15. It seems highly likely that there won’t be much change. We might alter formations during games, but it appears that the starting approach will be what we’re familiar with. This makes sense as it provides Notts with ample space to advance. I just hope we limit the number of times we attempt to play out from the back. It’s not productive when nerves kick in and teams capitalise on this. I’m confident that Stuart Maynard will improve things defensively.
  16. Hello, welcome to the site @Michelle Evans. I wish you well and hope that you join in with us when you have the time to visit.
  17. Hello, @Thomas Cotton. Welcome! I wish you all the best and hope to see you join in.
  18. Fantastic photos, indeed. However, if any have been edited, they should be properly acknowledged. The primary focus should be on photos that are naturally captured and processed. Quite a few of them look superb, some appear to be edited, and others don’t seem to have been taken by a camera at all.
  19. It’s a promising result for the women’s Notts team. It seems they just need to be a bit more precise with their goal attempts. Time will help them improve this aspect. Well done to them.
  20. It’s distressing to hear about Nuneaton. I was at the pre-season friendly and donated to the man who walked around the ground several times during the match. Even then, it seemed quite grim as some of their fans made remarks about the difficulties their club was facing.
  21. We should be grateful to the Reedtz for their efforts. Instead of striving for promotion, they could be focusing on cost-cutting measures and reducing the annual debt, which they will likely write off once they sell the club. Their attention could be more on achieving financial stability to the point where we are just average, but they are savvy businessmen who understand that ambition and success come with ongoing costs. I’m not worried, it’s quite common in football. If we managed to get £38k for Ian Burchnall, I hope Luke Williams was sold for a lot more.
  22. Every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday morning, I go for a run that lasts about 2 to 3 miles. I also visit the gym after work on Wednesdays to stay fit. Regardless of the circumstances, I maintain this routine because it helps me stay focused.
  23. Thanks! Everyone, it's most kind of you all to welcome me.
  24. The ground crew will have inspected some areas and replaced the covers. The lamps will help to lower the risk of frost ruining the match, but the rain could cause more problems. It all hinges on how steady and how quick it falls. Notts has a solid history of handling much worse conditions than the current ones in recent years. I’m not too worried about the match being cancelled.
  25. No, I’ve never been interested in other clubs. My family are all Notts County fans and I’ve been going to games for many years. Notts were the first team I watched live and because of that, and it being my first experience of football, I find watching it on TV lacks atmosphere. Plus, the commentators these days tend to be annoying. So, no second team for me.
