  1. Defence Slowly transitioning to defending better. No you need to start Defending Better straight away or Notts are going to be in a Relegation Battle. Ethos The Ethos won't change. Even if the Ethos is Wrong? Championship Model. The Model that Notts have/will have aim to get the Magpies into the Championship one day. When? In Five years time ? Ten Years Time? Set a Target and Aim for that target. What happens if the Model doesn't work? Will it be changed? Rules Restrict Number Of Overseas Players. Good. It means Notts will have to look at bringing on their own Talent through the Academy. instead of the odd youth player getting a chance aim for three or four to bring on. Wants to mix things Up. Finally the Penny's dropped as it? The Fans have been going on about this for the past season. We could see it why couldn't the Coaching Staff?
  2. Can't see the point of having a Mayor. It's just another leech taking the peoples tax pounds and making People's life a Misery. Prime Example Khan in London, there all out to line their own pockets live in the own Bubble and lose all contact with Real Life and the Lives of the Ordinary Person in the Street.
  3. @Ohh Tommy Johnson Perhaps I misunderstood I guess if you can't believe those involved in the process explaining how it works, Then You Can't Form Any Opinion On The Topic. Didn't Stuart Maynard bring two brothers with him from Wealdstone who were part of his Coaching Staff? And the people who worked with Luke Williams who came with him to the Lane then went with him to Swansea. People they know and are mates of the Head Coach. There are coaches appointed by the Brothers still at the Lane ie the Goalkeeping coach and Academy Coach but both LW and SM have brought in people they've worked with and Trust.
  4. Being realised or contract ending still means the Player won't be at the Club the following Season. You can't project the collective failure on an individual that is True however I think @Robbie is expressing that how the relegation had it's effect on the player's mind set and what effect it would have on his play if he found himself in a Relegation Battle with Notts. Jim O'Brien's mind set was one of Getting Notts Back Into the Football League. Something He Achieved. His Loyalty to the Club was Unquestionable .
  5. @Ohh Tommy Johnson And yet both Macca was signed before Luke Williams became Head Coach and AJ was signed before Stuart Maynard was given the Head Coach job, or just after so SM wouldn't have had any say in the matter because the Jatta signing would have been in progress days or weeks before. I didn't say I didn't Believe those involved. I Stated I Didn't think the Head Coach had as much of a Big Say in Recruitment as Richard Montague said. That is the Impression I get and that is my Opinion whether it's right or wrong. And the last time I looked the PON site was set up ask Fans for their Opinions on certain topics at Notts County. Mine is just one of them. Finally the days of Managers getting their mates in is gone. Yet Luke Williams and Stuart Maynard brought in their Own Coaching Staff who were/are their mates.
  6. Stats read pretty good plenty of Experience and as Captained Morecombe and most importantly he'll Cost Now't. Negative points always moves on after his contract ends, seems odd no other team wanted to employ him beyond his signed contract agreement. Morecombe were a League 1 side when he joined so he's been part of a Relegated side in recent seasons so does he have a Wining Mentality?
  7. I was telling my Mates about the time me the wife and kids were on holiday. The Wife had taken the Lads down to the sea for a paddle and I was busy building Sand Castles for when they came back. All of a Sudden there was one hell of a row this bloke and his missus started screaming at each other Anyway he slaps her the she slaps him back and they were arguing and fighting. Well somebody must have called the Local Plod, because this Copper turns up and tries to calm things down. Only for the bloke to start having ago at the Copper. You'll never guess what happened next. Both my Mates Shook Their Heads. This Crocodile Comes Along And Eats Them All.
  8. @Robbie Stats look good could be the type of Defender Notts need to help them tighten up at the Back. Only negative thing is his age (maybe me being a bit picky?) Would have liked him being a couple of years younger. But then again could be a good role model for Macari and Mahovo, I would hope he's on Notts radar and the Recruitment team are giving him the once over.
  9. I Didn't miss much then @Robbie?
  10. @Robbie that's the Big Question will Langstaff Jones and Crowley stay? Of the three the most likely to stay is (has I've said before) is Crowley, due to the fact (not that he's a poorer player than the other two) he hasn't hit the headlines as much as Macca and Jodi what with both being in the League 2 team of the season, the Golden Boot winner in League 2 and the League 2 player of the Year. However both have stated their wish to stay at the Lane, but should that once in a Life Time Bid be put on the table and Notts just can't say No then both Players will be else where next season. Hopefully in the Championship if they do leave. A New Keeper is a Must a Veteran with plenty of Experience backed up by young Brookes. I agree with ( more or less) your other choices and their positions at Notts regarding selling and loan moves. A New Captain/ Leader is also a Must somebody who can work along side Stuart Maynard and get players playing correctly and have the Knowledge to change things on the Pitch if he feels things aren't working out and someone who shouts controls the team and inspires players to play their Very Best and put in a performance each and every game. Sorry to single him out, But Kyle Cameron isn't that player.
  11. Good questions @Robbie how many do you reckon will be answered? Remembering the last Forum most of the time was spent listening to Luke Williams telling Fans why Notts Took Short Corners. @Ohh Tommy Johnson personally I don't think the Head Coach does get as to much of a Big Say about Recruiting Players as Richard Montague stated. I still remember a Luke Williams interview when he was asked if he had any say, in which Players were coming to Notts, he seemed quite surprised at the Question then awkwardly answered that he did have a say. That's the Problem nowadays the Head Coach doesn't have the same sort of input in Club matters that the old type of Manager used to have. I have Noticed that who ever succeeds Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool will be known as the Head Coach unlike Klopp who was the Clubs Manager.
  12. I wonder @Robbie if the situation regarding Notts young talent will be touched upon in the Fans Forum tonight? I'm Not holding out much hope. I myself wont be watching it on You Tube because I think it will be pointless much like the Magpie Circle end of season review, and there Nothing's off the Table debacle.
  13. @Robbie Exactly Lucien Mahovo who I believe as been on the Notts bench a couple of times why not give the Lad a run out? But more than likely the following will happen Notts will bring in some youngster from another Club on loan and Lucien will be farmed out on loan to play "Men's Football" why can't he learn his trade playing for Notts? An Experienced defender could take young Mahovo under his wing teach him how to be a defender what's expected of him and how to cope with stepping up into the First team. Will it happen? More than likely Not he'll be sent out on loan to different teams until his contract comes to an end then he'll be let Go.
  14. @Piethagoram But look at the players along side him Todd Kane 30, Lewis Cass 24, Kyle Kwoyle 27 Ibou Touray 29 Ryan Rydel 23 Fraser Horsfall 27. A mixture of youth and Experience and a top class Manager in Dave Challinor. That's what Notts need. @Robbie as said the Magpies need Blood and Guts Defenders who won't be Intimidated by the Opposition experienced players in the 25- 28 year range defenders who can push on to take Notts to the next level. I'm expecting big things from young Lewis Macari next season and if Notts want a young defender why not look at the Magpies youth academy and see if any of those youngsters are showing promise.
  15. The Biggest Question at Notts is will Macca leave the Lane in the Off Season? It seems that he's Happy here at Notts and doesn't want to leave and it's been stated that Notts don't need to sell. Unless of course a Bid comes in that is to big for Notts turn down. So let's say that Bid comes in and Macca leaves. Who do the Magpies have in reserve? Cedwyn Scott Alassana Jatta David McGoldrick and Junior Morias. Lets take a look at the Magpies Fire Power. Cedwyn Scott coming back from a long Term injury and is expected to take over the role of Macca and start scoring goals from the very start of Next Season. The Problem is it's going to take Ceds time to settle and get back in his scoring groove and the Notts playing System and gaining back his confidence in front of Goal. I believe Stuart Maynard could have done more for the Striker by giving him more minutes in the Last two games of Notts season. Even if it was only the first 45 minutes and had taken him off at half time after playing him along side Macca and Not replacing him. Don't expect 20+ goals from Ceds this coming season 10-15 may be all we can hope for. Alassana Jatta Big Big Big things are expected from this guy and in his Short time at the Lane he's impressed 5 goals and 1 assist, however since he's been injured very little communication regarding his injury has come from the Club. And the question must be Why? It seems very strange. Providing every thing is Hunky Dory lets hope he can carry on in his scoring vein and hit the 20 goal target but don't be surprised if he doesn't, that will depend on how he handles the Pressure put on him should Macca leave. David McGoldrick. Didzy I would think will be very disappointed with his season at Notts even though he hit the back of the net 12 times. After a Stella season at Derby scoring 22 goals in the League above Notts last year much the same goal wise was hoped for this season, it would seem as with other Notts players his form dropped off after the departure of Luke Williams, plus he may have played with an injury and Fatigue may have also played a part in his dip in form. If he can get into double figures next season it will be a Bonus. Junior Morias injury seems to have played a big part of his time at the Lane and only 1 goal to show in his 8 appearances means he's way down the Pecking order at Notts he'll either be sold or loaned out during next season.
  16. WWW.Conjunctivitis.com There's a Site For Sore Eyes. At a local Athletics Meeting I was Chatting up a Lady Sprinter. People said I was trying to Pull a Fast One. I once found an Alphabet Grenade. I thought if this goes Off It Could Spell Disaster. I Love Fun Fair Food. Candy Floss Toffee Apples and those Boil in the Bag Gold Fish.
  17. Nah it wouldn't work What with Aaron Nemane and Aaron Donnelly in the side because listening to that little Prairie Dog calling Aaron Aaron Aaron Aaron, it would drive you Bloody Crazy. Hold on it's not Aaron it's Dan. Dan Dan Dan.
  18. Another thing @Robbie do you think that all of the Notts team coming back to defend tend to get in each others way? And could that also be a reason why Notts have given away 17 penalties this season?
  19. Most Importantly DOES HE EAT MEAT? Because Carrots Broccoli and Runner Beans don't Build up Muscle Mass
  20. Very Good Analysis. Which means that Macca isn't worth bothering about and should be left at Notts. And in the Real World. Who the Hell comes up with this totally Insane Data? I'm in full agreement @Robbie It's just some idiot trying to devalue Macca's Worth and get him at a cheaper Price. Because Any Team in any League including the Premiership if they play to Macca's strengths will be Rewarded with a sack full of Goals. Now there's the Rub playing to a Player's strengths, how many times have we seen a Player move from one club to another for a Vast amount of money only for that player to fail at his new club, due to the fact he's played in the wrong position i.e he plays deeper or in a position he's not used too. Then there's players who reward their New Clubs with a Hat Full of Goals and a Superb Season thanks to the fact their Clubs play to their Strengths and play them in their Best positions. Step forward Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. Interestingly though both Now Play Abroad. The only Reasons in my opinion why Macca didn't score more goals is the fact he had to drop back and Defend. The times I've watched Macca run from a defensive position and a quick ball over the top would have given him a chance to run at a opposition defender and attack the opposition goal, only to see him left surrounded by half a dozen defenders who have got back thanks to the Tippy Tappy play it from the back System played by Notts. Macca is a Striker who's Job it is to Score Goals. NOT to defend the Magpies Goal.
  21. I went to help a mate out with his boat hiring business. What would happen each boat had a number on it and people would hire the boat for a certain length of time and when the time was up the boat number would be called in over a Mega Phone, and the boat would be returned. My mate showed me how to go on. Right when a boat been out long enough you pick up the Mega Phone and say Boat 24 come in Please Boat 24 Thankyou. He gave me the Mega Phone and after about quarter of an hour I announced Boat 99 come in Please Boat 99 Thankyou. I haven't got a Boat 99 said my Mate. Picking up the Mega Phone I asked, Boat 66 are you in trouble?
  22. How the Hell are Notts Going to fill the Gap this Guy has left? Not only from his Footballing experience his influence in the Changing Room and the Help he renders to our young players, the Lane Ain't Gonna Be Same Without Mr Jim O'Brien being there. As I've said before the Word Legend is used so Freely Nowadays, but in Jim's case it is very Apt a Notts County Legend a Warrior and a Bloody Nice Bloke. Once A Magpie Always A Magpie. JIM O'BRIEN HE'S ONE OF OUR OWN.
  23. You gave us Magpie Fans some Magic Moments Thanks John and where ever your Path Leads may it Bring Peace and Happiness. Cheers Boz.
  24. Oh Yes those Goals will Live Long in the Memory and I'm sure Aden will treasure them as part of his Footballing Career. Good Luck in your Future Lad.
  25. Lets Get The Defence and Goalkeeping Situation Sorted First.
