  1. Having put aside the chance to repair more wheelbarrows and listened to the Pod Cast I am in full agreement with what Robbie has said. There wasn't much extra to know what hasn't been already said in announcements from the Club. In Paul's opening where he said it's not going to be a Direct Question and Answer Question session. With the Greatest of Respect that is what was needed it was just Stal and Paul going over the same ground again with their Questions. The only thing I took from it is the Price of season tickets are going up to be level with the League 2 average and Not under the League's average as it is at the moment. Which means that Notts Fans could be in for a Large hike in the prices of their season Tickets. Paul was asked by Joe if he would be Happy to pay more money, for his season ticket to which he replied Yes, what answer do you think he'd get if Joe asked the average Fan? Paul admitted that he's got extra money in his pocket, thing is Paul a lot of Notts Fans Haven't, and any significant increase in Season Tickets will result in Families watching their Budgets and if it becomes a Toss Up between Paying your Bills or watching Notts you know what's going to take Priority. For example season tickets for Me My wife and two Sons takes a large Chunk out of our Family Budget so an big increase will probably mean No Ticket for the wife and I'll have to Pick and Choose the matches I go and watch. And there will be a Few Fans in the same Boat. If you go and read the comments under the Pod Cast, there's a question on there which says I don't like the way we play, shall I renew my season ticket? Those are the sort of Questions that should have been asked. A few PON members had the type of Questions that need answering basically the Pod Cast didn't really ask anything New, and I certainly wasn't bothered about how long Richard Montague had known and had been working for the Brothers or which teams Joe Palmer's has worked for before he became Notts C.E.O. Further Richard Montague stated he was aware of the weakness of the Defence and in his next breath said Recruitment won't be on any Specific Areas??? So Much For Nothing Is Off The Table.
  2. Two lawyers I know, one is Pro Bono while the other thinks he's a proper idiot. I once met the Edge at an airport and after he'd signed my autograph book and had his picture taken with me I said It was nice to meet you he replied Yeah You Too. I went to the Doctors for an examination, he told me Don't eat anything Fatty. What like Chips Bacon Crisps? No he said don't eat Anything Fatty. Did you hear about the Cow which jumped over a Barb Wire Fence? It was Udder destruction.
  3. On the Recruitment 's team's Minus side Warner Colkett Morias Stone and Randall. Swings and Roundabouts. Stuart Maynard says he knows where the Squad needs strengthening lets hope he'll be allowed to Express his wishes and his ideas aren't brushed to one side by the Recruitment team. Also let's hope Montague and his minions don't go about signing players Willy Nilly just to increase the Notts Squad Size just for the Sheer Hell of it. Mind you I don't think that will happen because the Brothers do have a Strong Grip on the Clubs Financial Circumstances.
  4. I can't see Maynard dropping Langstaff. All Hell would break loose if the top scorer in League 2 is missing from the Line up and he wasn't injured. It would be nice to see Macca and Cedwyn line up together one last time at the Lane. I'm sure AJ would understand (even if he's fit). Realistically it depends on which Notts Team turns up, if it's the Great we'll soon be on our summer break and we can't be bothered team then I'll think the Magpies will Struggle. If the Players come Out with the let's Put On A Show attitude as a Massive Thankyou to the Fans for their Loyalty then Notts should Batter Colchester.
  5. I Really Hope So Fan of Big Tone. My dear Old Dad used to be a Season Ticket Holder at Pride Park, he even went to watch the Rams away from home when he was in his Eighties and I still keep an eye out for the Rams Results. Come on Derby one last Push.
  6. And how would you Rate our Manager? How many more times is he going to play Jodi on the Wrong Side? Still I suppose it don't really matter as another Club will come in for the League 2 Player Of The Year. Play him in his best position and he'll get 20+ assists for a Team higher up the Football Pyramid, you know a Coach who plays him in his Best Position.
  7. Well lets see Colchester need one more Win to secure their League 2 Status. So who's going to be more Up For It, come 3'oclock Saturday? Notts 1 Colchester 2.
  8. Ah Robbie I Admire Your Belief and Positivity, but even you admit the Notts Defence is A Total Shambles. IF is a little Word with a Big Meaning. If Macca hadn't Scuffed his chance early Doors, I don't think it would have mattered even if he had scored, Stockport had the Bit between their teeth and there was only one side who was going to Win Last Night. If Notts had a better defence the Magpies could have been challenging for automatic or at least a chance of promotion via the playoffs. If Notts had a better Man in charge of Recruitment the Magpies wouldn't be floundering, in the bottom half of League 2. If Stuart Maynard had Football League Experience maybe he would have hit the ground Running at the Lane, which was needed after LW departure. IF IF IF, I could go on about such things as Bad Officials etc etc. I can't be Positive about next season, Not until I see the Recruitment and see Stuart Maynard's approach to Notts playing style, because if he continues with this Tippy Tappy slow side to side the back to the Keeper again type of Football then the Magpies Are Going To Struggle.
  9. That's just it Robbie WE Fans know what the Problems Are, however it seems the Head of Recruitment and his Team DO NOT. Their Poor judgement in the signing of players hasn't helped the Notts Cause. Nor That of Stuart Maynard. In fact if Montague had a job outside of Notts he'd had been SACKED a Long Time Ago. Yes the Magpies do have a thin Squad but they didn't when they played Sutton and they Got 9 Goals put past them over two games, by a Team who is on the Verge of being Relegated back to the National League. Piethagoram not only Hartlepool you only need to Look at Forest Green League 1 relegated ( the Grass isn't always Greener on the other side Eh Mr Burchnall) League 2 Relegated, and an unknown future. And your So Right About the Notts Defence. Fozzy I'm with you regarding Paul Mace and Stal grilling Montague, but as it's been talked about on this Site, it Ain't Gonna Happen. But if anyone from that Podcast come and read our Comments on PON, They have my Full Permission to use any of my Questions or Quotes I have placed on this Site. And Finally (hooray I hear you cheer) there are Two Guys who run a very Popular You tube Channel on Notts. They said Notts have Nothing To Play For. Guys you're so Wrong. Notts Have Hell Of A Lot To Play For. 1 Pride 2 The Shirt and Most Important Us The Fans, who turn up week in and week out and spend our Hard Earned Cash on Season Tickets Notts Shirts and going to Away Games.
  10. Welcome to the REAL World did the Stats and Data predict this? And did the Stats and Data Predict how Poor our Defence would be? No but funny enough the Fans knew. As soon as the line up came out and who Notts had in the Back Three, I bet there were an awful lot of Fans who knew Notts were on to a Hiding. Brinsley Baldwin and Cameron it's been clear from the Start of the season NONE of these players are League 2 Standard. How much Longer are Notts going to play Tippy Tappy Football in their own 18 yard Box? What does it need to Convince Stuart Maynard and his Coaching Staff you can't play this type of Football in League 2, you have to mix things up and Not be Predictable ( how many times have those words been written on here?) Notts haven't beaten any of the Promoted sides this season, being thumped 4-1 at home by Mansfield and Now 5-2 by Stockport.,(home) along with the 2-0 lose to Wrexham(home). And a team who seem certain to Relegated back to the National League, have scored a Total of 9 goals against The Magpies over two matches. So Nobody Can Say That There Isn't A Problem Down The Lane. A Total Rebuild Is Required and if Montague his Recruitment team and Data doesn't get it right in the off season, then Let's Not Kid Ourselves Notts are going to be mediocre at Best or in a Relegation fight.
  11. There was this Chap and his wife who enjoyed Walking Holidays and Rambling around the countryside. One day they came to the top of a hill and in the valley below was an Old Deserted Farm. So they went down to investigate. As they looked around the Chap said I remember this place we've been here before. Are you sure says his wife? Yes says her Husband we made Love up against that fence. His Wife looks over and says Yes you're right. How about we make Love against that fence again for Old Times Sake? Suggests the Husband. Alright then replies his wife. So they get down to it and the Wife is wriggling and jiggling and when they finish. The Husband says Blimey You weren't ' like that the first time. I know replies his Wife, But the First time the Fence Wasn't Electrified.
  12. And yet Chris Stats and Data seem to be used for everything else at the Lane such as signing players and why Notts should be 8th and Not 14th. It doesn't matter how data on some players states they should remain at Notts because the stats say so, watching their performances week in and week out shows that in the Real World certain players should be let Go. One good game in three or four matches does Not Instil Confidence in the Fanbase.
  13. Absolutely right Robbie both Macca and Jodie deserve all the Accolades bestowed on them. Both players have shown their class since pulling on the Black & White Stripes of Notts County and to lose One or Both will be a Massive Blow to the Club, but there can't be any hard feelings should they seek Pastures New next season, both deserve to be able to display their Talents at a Higher Level. Macca I'm pretty sure can play in the Championship and Jodi maybe as well. It would be a shame to loose them to a League 1 team when they could stay at the Lane in hope of the Magpies getting Promoted next season. But then again both are in their mid Twenties and the chance of playing further up the Footballing Pyramid and the financial benefits they'd receive may prove to be to much of a bigger temptation. Macca to Derby or Swansea while Jodi may also benefit from playing under Luke Williams again? Who knows? I've still got a strange feeling in the back of my mind that there's an outside chance Wrexham will put in a Bid for Both of them. And to put things into prospective could the signing of Alassana Jatta be a move by the Owners because they know or are expecting to lose Macca during this coming off season and the Jatta signing was to give Alassana time to adjust to playing for Notts so he wouldn't Go into the New Season cold? Since AJ was signed in January he's done his settling in period and adjusting to a life in a New Country, which means he'll be more than Ready for the New Season.
  14. A Friend of mine went on a one night stand that went horribly wrong. He's been married Three Years Now. Apparently Shop Lifting from the Apple Store is only considered Scrumping. The hardest part in making skimmed Milk is skimming the Cows across the lake. I'm not saying my Mother in Law's got a big mouth, but when she smiles she leaves lipstick on her Ear Lobes.
  15. There was also a photo on X with a line up showing Stuart Maynard Jodi and Macca with and three Ladies I assume were wives ( or girlfriends) and two other blokes, not sure who they were but the Chap on the Far Right stood there with his hands in his pockets (was it the CEO?) anyway he ruined a decent photo with his slovenly pose. It reminded me of what Brian Clough said to Trevor Francis when he presented Francis with an award "Take your hands out of your pocket Young Man" Which is what the photographer should have said to the bloke on the end, mind you if he had any style he'd have buttoned his Jacket and and stood there with hands at his side. He was after all Representing the Club.
  16. Well Robbie To be Honest out all the current Notts players you have named I would only keep Cedwyn Scott and maybe at a pinch John Bostock the Rest I'd Let Go they are Not League 2 Standard. Cedwyn is out of contract (Someone did point that out on PON) Notts need to offer him a New Contract because (in my opinion) he'll hopefully take over from Macca when he leaves. I also think if it wasn't for his injury he and Macca would have been the Top two strikers in the League this Season. And I'm confident he and AJ will form a Good Partnership. Realistically the only reason I'd keep Bostock is because it all depends on Matt Palmer's comeback from injury and how long it takes Matt to become fully match fit. Because Robertson has made the midfield position his own and I'll be interested to see how plays along side a fully fit Palmer. I must say that I'm in full agreement with the two Topics penned by ARLukomski regarding the Fact Notts need to be Brutal (perhaps not his exact word) and more or less need to Rebuild completely during the Off Season, in one comment I gave a list of Players I believe should be retained and those that in opinion should be let Go and nothing I've seen has made me change my mind. We need players who come in with a good amount of EFL Experience if the Magpies are going to be contenders for the playoffs or Automatic Promotion at the End of Next Season. Of the Big Three Macca, Jodi and Dan Crowley, I think the one Notts have the Best Chance of holding on to is Dan Crowley, not that he's not a Top Player within this League but he hasn't generated the same type of headlines, like Macca and Jodi which could be to Notts advantage, because Dan may well come under the Radar of other Clubs.
  17. Makes you wonder where Notts would have ended the season if they hadn't leaked so many goals Robbie. In fact if the Magpie defence had cut out a percentage of the poor goals they gave away then Notts would probably be looking at another Play off campaign at the very least. But they Didn't and Notts aren't in the playoffs. At least the Magpies weren't involved in a Relegation Battle this season so we can be grateful for small mercies. The Attack as been a Major Force in this League and I believe will continue to be so. Even if Notts Loose Macca (which seems more than likely) it would seem that the Magpies still have a Goal threat in AJ and Didzy but a lot will depend on Cedwyn Scott and how he adapts in League 2 after his injury. He does seems confident in his own abilities and if he finds the back of the Net regularly in the opening games his confidence will soar in the New Campaign then the loss of Macca wont hit Notts to badly. Goals from the likes of Dan Crowley Sam Austin and other attacking midfielders adding goals the Magpies shouldn't be to far off keeping up their Scoring Rate. Cedwyn will probably be used in the Macca Role next season and if he can stay healthy 15-20 goals shouldn't be out of his reach. I expect AJ to be top scorer with 20+ goals A dozen or so from Didzy with Dan Crowley weighing in with 12-15 and 15+ goals from other members of the Team and Notts will be a threat to the Rest of League 2 teams. I believe the Magpies Attack isn't the problem but as it as been for the last few seasons it's the Defence where Montague and his team need to work on. A keeper who can dominate and command his area Young Brookes should be given his chance either as first choice or back up (farming him out on loan season after season wont help him) and two maybe three proper defenders who aren't afraid to tackle and put their bodies on the Line. And perhaps the most important position on the Pitch a Captain and True Team Leader who Inspires and gets the Best out of his Team Mates.
  18. Lets Enjoy yesterday's Win. I'm pretty sure Stuart Maynard is well aware of Notts short comings (and his own) and will be working on improving the playing system and his own performance in becoming a Full Time Coach, lets hope that things are starting to Fall into place and with an Excellent Recruitment strategy Notts will be able to push on. It's interesting to Note how many times the Recruitment team have been mentioned over the months since the appalling January window , therefore Richard Montague needs to get his Act together and sign Players that can do the job in League 2 and potentially League 1. And lets also hope Stuart Maynard will have a say in which players are signed, because it comes across as that he doesn't it seems the Recruitment team look at the data of a certain player and if he fits the Notts system then he's signed and Stuart Maynard can Like it or Lump it. Having a say in who's signed will also help Stuart Maynard Grow into his Role as Notts Head Coach. This off season may be one of the Most Important down at the Lane in Recent Years and could map out the Magpies future as to weather Notts are going to be a Team that will be one of mid table obscurity or one that can push on into playoff contention or even Automatic Promotion.
  19. Robbie On their Day Notts can beat any team in the League True. The trouble is they didn't do it enough during this season. I think this is still Luke Williams team because most played under him, it will be Maynard's Team once New Players come into the Notts Squad and are able to adopt to his playing system. I think one of the Strange things regarding Maynard's system is Why Did It Take So Long For Players To Adapt To? He was after all Hired by the Brothers because his Coaching and Footballing game plan was similar to LW 's, and I think everyone was hoping for a Smooth transition Club Officials and Fans alike, it seems as Maynard tried to tighten thinks up at the back, the Attack forgot how to score goals, then when he turned his attention back to the Forwards the Defence dropped back into their Old Habits, it now seems (hopefully) Maynard as found a Happy Balance and the team are back to playing has a Unit. It's Not the Finished Article by any means, but with some more New Players with current EFL experience drafted in at the Lane all under 30 years old, then the Magpies future could look very Bright Indeed.
  20. Well that was a Nice surprise, I would have been Happy with a Draw but a 3-1 win certainly would have Helped Stuart Maynard's standing at Notts. On this kind of form the Magpies needn't Fear Stockport on Tuesday Evening. That match however will Determine how much Notts have really improved, but will Stockport be bothered as they have already been Promoted to League 1? I think they will because they'll want to go up as Champions, so any positive Result will give Notts hope for a better season in 2024/2025. Back to Back Wins for Stuart Maynard will have tremendously eased the pressure put on him by the Poor Run Of Results Notts had at the Start of his tenure. It is also interesting to note that players who have been playing poorly, have Suddenly woken up to the fact that maybe their Futures at Notts is on the Line and they are starting to play for the Shirt. But each should be judged on the season as a whole Not just these last few games. I am still in the There Needs To Be A Massive Shake Up At The Lane This Coming Off Season Camp, because if certain players are still relied on by the Club then another season of struggle may be in line for Notts 2024/2025. Recruitment could be the Be All and End All this coming Summer. Because if it's as Poor Defensive wise as it as been for the Past Few Seasons then this could have, a Negative effect on the Magpies Progress for Promotion to League 1.
  21. A Poem Last night I held a little Hand It made my Sad Heart Sing It was the Loveliest Hand I've Ever Held Four Aces and a King.
  22. Do you have a Nickname for your Wife? I have I call her Doll Face. She's very Pretty with an Eye Missing. Back in the day I was a member of a British team which won a Table Tennis Tournament in South Asia. We had a Massive Party to Celebrate, it was a Hong Kong Ping Pong Ding Dong. My Mate collects empty bottles which sounds so much better than Alcoholic. I remember I met my wife in a Library which was Novel.
  23. I remember that Robbie wasn't something to do with the Falklands War and the Sinking of the General Belgrano?
  24. Shafted is the Right word Robbie, because if Ifollow does go then any club involved in a season long Relegation Battle aren't going to get any of their matches shown, so their fans wont be able to follow their team live should they be unable to attend the match and their Club wont get any source of income and more Clubs will find themselves in Financial Dire Straights ( I could do a Rock Band remark here but I wont)
