  1. Robbie When Didzy joined Notts he was given a two year deal I believe so next season will be his last (maybe) Should Macca go (which seems likely) it would seem that Cedwyn and AJ will be the strike partnership, however should Scott still not be fully fit for the start of the New Season Didzy will get his chance to cement his place in the starting line up along side Jatta. But even on the bench Didzy can still be an impact player and I would imagine he would be happy just to be in the match day squad, he's coming to the end of his career and he'll know he can't go on forever and the time as come for him, to pass on the Baton to a younger Strike Force. Regarding Chicks he did have a good season last year and his playing time this season has been limited due to injury but one good game like a single swallow does not a summer or season make. Plus I don't think he's the right player to replace Jodi should the New Dad move to pastures New. It's been said in another fans topic there is No room for sentiment and I think Chicks could do a decent job for any National League Side.
  2. Robbie I didn't say Maynard was weak just uninspiring (like Chamberlain during the first months of the War). There are Pro's and Con's for both Micro and Macro types of Management at the moment the small things (micro) need sorting out then the bigger picture (Macro) needs to be looked at because there is No point of running a Business or a Football Club if Goals are not set to aim for and be Achieved. Micro at Notts sorting out the Playing Squad and Coaching Staff. Macro Promotion either automatic or via the Play offs.
  3. The other two of our main Trio who seem destined to depart the Lane come the seasons end Jodi and Dan, of the three I think Dan Crowley will be the one to stay (Perhaps) Jodi Jones maybe in an awkward position, that is Loyalty to a Club who took a risk on him signed him and gave him a chance when it seemed No Other Club would Go anywhere near him or if the right offer came in, a move to another club in the League above and the increase in Money that comes with it and with a New Mouth to feed Money will certainly get the nod over loyalty. If Notts had gotten Promotion or at least been in the Mix of the Playoffs Jodi might have stayed. If he does decided to stay then a long term contract should be offered to him. Dan Crowley another Gem found by the Recruitment team (see they can do well at times) has been excellent this season, but I think asking him to defend is wrong and with him at times being played out of position, if he had a Bad Game in that position an arm round the shoulder and a bit of Luke Williams magic and he'd be ready for the next game. Maynard doesn't or can't do that, maybe because he's still learning his trade to becoming a full time Coach. Despite Dan having a stellar season I'm still not sure if he's on any other teams radar (unlike Macca and Jodie) and that could keep him at the Lane. However should an offer that's acceptable come in for him then Good Luck to the Guy. But if the Club can hold onto him, he's another who should be given an extended contract.
  4. Robbie The Churchill Atlee comparison is a different way to state how things stand at Notts. In that same sort of vein Chamberlain and Churchill were to drastically different leaders and if Churchill hadn't been appointed leader would the Allies beaten the Axis Powers? Much the same do Notts stick with the safe but uninspiring Maynard (Chamberlain) in charge and watch things Crumble or go for a Churchillian Sort of Coach who Inspires motivates and is Ruthless in his decisions? I believe the latter type of Leader is required by Notts and will take the Magpies to the Next Level.
  5. Dog Toffee, that's a New One never heard that before. But I have an Idea what it Means (Ha Ha).
  6. It's been Banded about on Social Platforms that if Stuart Maynard remains at the Lane Notts could end up losing 3000 season ticket holders Maybe or Maybe Not, as well as the off season Silly season will be kicking off about now and all sorts of rumours and speculation will arise. But if there is a considerable drop in the purchasing of Notts season tickets, will this force the Owner to rethink their strategy? Whether it's keeping Stuart Maynard in his position or some other reason i e the cost of a season ticket. What ever happens it is indeed going to be an interesting off season down the Lane.
  7. Robbie Regarding all the Coaching Staff in my opinion All Must Go. Yes somebody did indeed inspire the team yesterday but if it was Maynard, Why hasn't he done it more? The Appointment of a Director of Football should have been made in January, or when Neil Warnock left Aberdeen . I realise I keep going on about Warnock but is there anybody else that could come in? Warnock knows the Club is still held in high regard by Fans and the publicity Notts would gain from such an appointment would be incredible. Plus if Warnock came in there could still be hope for Maynard and disgruntled Fans may give our current Coach and his staff a second chance. What is needed is someone to point out to the Owners that a Director of Football is needed at the Lane, if they intend ( because in the end everything is their decision) to keep Maynard in the Dug Out.
  8. As the season drags on to it's end and the off season approaches all manner of issues need to be resolved at the Lane. Perhaps the Most Important is Recruitment and Transfers, and its in the latter that I wish to Focus one name that springs straight to mind is Macca, the impact this guy has had at Notts is Nothing Short of Incredible Amazing Top Quality etc etc. The accolades from Notts Fans could possibly fill a page on this site. He caught Notts attention with 32 goals for Gateshead, then 42 for Notts during their return to the Football League, he currently sits on 25 this season for the Magpies. These sort of Goal Scoring feats aren't going to go unnoticed by Clubs higher up the Football Pyramid in fact it was rumoured by the media that Macca was on his way to Sunderland Birmingham Derby to name but three Clubs who were interested in obtaining his service,, during the January Transfer Window, and I am More or Less certain that an offer which Notts won't be able to refuse will come in and Macca will be gone from the Lane. As much as that will have a massive effect on the Club and Fans alike surely No one will begrudge Macca a chance to prove his scoring abilities at a Higher Level. Of course I wouldn't expect Notts to give Macca away, the Owners must ask for at least between £2-£3 million plus add ons, appearances , goals scored and a percentage of any future Transfer Fee higher than what the Magpies sold him to any other club for. Then once all Taxes and other fees have been paid etc the remaining monies should be invested in New Players, or what the Owners deem necessary for the Club's Future. Well those are my thoughts now it's up to other PON Members to express their reactions.
  9. GO. Yes he had a tough start to his reign at Notts fixture wise but as shown Nothing since in his coaching abilities to prove he can change things around. The Magpies have Lost to teams that they shouldn't have Lost to and I don't think he's played the same eleven players, in successive matches. He certainly hasn't been helped by New Contracts being handed out to players, who are Not League 2 standard and wasn't helped by practically No new signings during the Transfer Window. He doesn't have the Man Management skills to get the Best out of his players when they are going through a Bad patch such as a Lack of Confidence. I don't think it's a case of Players Not Wanting To Play For Him, it's just they seem unable to put his ideas into practice which is a case of Poor Communication. He'll stay till the season's end then his contract will be/should be Terminated. Maynard like some of his players isn't up to Football League Standard, he's totally Out of His Depth and he must know that himself he's given it a go and he's Failed, so a return back to the NL (Not with the Magpies) would perhaps suite him better.
  10. Robbie I didn't know about the Jones baby but sleepless nights are something he'll have get used too, and hopefully won't effect his training to much in the future. The problem is Notts had a decent sort of result today but it's still Not Enough (in my opinion) for Maynard to keep his job. It seems if Notts get a Result i e the victories at Newport and Bradford and todays draw some Fans think the worst is over but what usually happens in the following match the Magpies drop back into the same Old Routine it also seemed that once Notts had gotten in front they reverted back to their tippy tappy Football instead of going in for the Kill and once again the Dons third goal their player had acres and acres of room, by easily beating the offside trap, then it was thankyou and another goal for the opposition how many times have we Fans seen that this season? The Bigger picture should be looked at and not just the Odd Good Result. After all 9 points out of 42 isn't anything to write home about. The Form of Jatta is certainly a Bright Point amongst the Gloom at Notts and hopefully he can carry on with his Goal Scoring Prowess in the Future.
  11. The Banner regarding Maynard Out it was only a matter of time, and to be Honest I was surprised it took this Long. I don't Agree with it but those Notts Fans are Entitled to Opinion. It may be only a Minority at the moment but how long before it becomes the Majority? Why did Maynard play Chicksen and Not Jones? Despite Jones being on the pitch for what 11 minutes? He still chalked up another Assist . I can't believe Macca's Luck in front of goal just lately he must be wondering what he needs to do to get back on the score sheet. Well it now seems Notts can't be relegated even mathematically.
  12. While walking through my Local Town Centre I saw this Scruffy Shabby dressed bloke with long lank dirty hair . He sat down and started to tune a Battered Old Guitar, then he sang When I was young It seemed that Life was wonderful A Miracle Oh it was Beautiful, Magical I said Hey that's Supertramp He replied Cheers Mate.
  13. I woke up at my usual Time this Morning . Then Oh Gosh I Forgot To Put The Clocks Forward. What a Silly Billy I am the wife said the same, But Not in so many Words.
  14. I think your right Robbie. But Don't Call Me Shirley. Sorry couldn't Resist.
  15. In our local village we would always see the Vicar riding around on his bike chatting to people helping with any problems villagers may have. Well one morning I came across the Reverend walking along the Street. Morning Vicar I said where's your bike? I'm afraid it's been stolen. Oh Dear I replied May I give you some advice Reverend? Yes please do. Well next Sunday make your Sermon about the Ten Commandments and when you get to Thou shall Not Steal stop and have a Good look round the congregation and who ever looks guilty, that's your thief. Thankyou I'll try that said the Vicar. So the following Sunday we're all in Church and the Reverend gave his Sermon on the Ten Commandments, but instead of stopping and looking round at Thou shall Not Steal he carried on. Well after the service we thanked the Vicar his sermon and I said Vicar you didn't stop when you got to Thou Shall Not Steal. I know he whispered But when I got to Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery I remembered where I'd Left My Bike.
  16. Well ARLukomski Here's my Retained list. Macca Jodi Jones Dan Crowley David McGoldrick Matt Palmer Scott Robertson Lewis Macari Cedwyn Scott Allsanna Jatta Sam Austin Geraldo Bajrami Luther Munakandafa James Sanderson Tiernan Brookes. Should be promoted to the senior squad, Jim O'Brien giving a Coaching Role. The Rest Thankyou for your efforts in the Black & White Stripes but your time at Notts as run it's course. This of course only applies to the Senior Squad. It's time Luther was given a ran at a First team Spot Loaning the Kid out over and over again isn't going to do him any favours. I think his contract is up for renewal in the off season, he should be given a new one, but I wouldn't blame him if he decided to go elsewhere. Those Players Not on the Above List are either to Old (from a Footballing position) or are Not Up To League 2 Standard. As I've Stated Repeatedly there needs to be a Massive Shake Up At the Lane this Off Season. Players with recent League 2 experience and above ( particularly Defenders) and aged 30 or under need to be brought to the Lane. The Main Problem with this is of course the current position Notts find themselves in, so a New Man in the Dug Out is Essential a Manager with a lot of Football League Experience who can build a Squad that is capable of challenging for a Playoff Spot Next Season.
  17. And Yet Robbie watching them you'd think they didn't care because they seem to think their Two Year Contracts will keep them Safe and at the Lane for the foreseeable Future. What they Need to Know is just Because they signed a New Contract it doesn't Guarantee them their Future is with Notts.
  18. The Wife had bought herself a New Pair of Jeans, she stood in front of the Bedroom Mirror and of course I get the Usual Question. Do these Jeans make my Bum look Big? No Sweetheart Chips Crisps and Chocolate make your Bum Look Big.
  19. Reading your words Fozzy the Sad Truth is you're Absolutely Right. Why prolong the Fans agony of having to watch a Head Coach who's out of his Depth, he must realise himself he's Not Up To The Job he can say that he gave it a go and he failed, but that's Life and he should learn from his Mistake. And Robbie we all know the Notts players should give their all the Trouble is Do They Know That? From what I can gather the Magpies were already beaten by Half Time at Swindon and That Should Never Be The Case of any Professional Footballer. I must admit a Day out with the Family Monday does sound more Appealing than watching Notts Go Through the Motions of another Defeat.
  20. I was thrown Out of Weight Watches for making sarcastic remarks at the weekly Weigh In. You can Imagine I took it with Huge Grace. Because they threw her out as well. I had Stew & Dumplings last night. I shouldn't call Her That But She is A Big Girl.
  21. Give the Youngsters A Go at least they'll be more enthusiastic than some of the Present Team Members, they'll want to go out and Prove a Point and make an impression along with Playing For The Shirt.
  22. Robbie It's a Shame you're Not 40 years younger and the Captain of the Magpies, reading your comment shows what is lacking at the Lane at the moment. Every Player should look at himself in the Mirror and ask am I doing the Best I can? Because after all those players owe their livelihood to us the Fans and as you say they should leave everything on the Pitch, and if Notts go down at least they should go down fighting. But having No Leadership on the Pitch and a Dithering Head Coach who makes strange team selections and subs his Top Players and then states the Team played well in after match interviews well it would appear All Hope Is Lost. Notts are Crying Out for a Manager (Not Head Coach) who will grab the Squad by the throat shaking it and Tell Players If They Don't Buck Their Ideas UP then they wont be playing the following Saturday. I Will Admit it's to late for this season, but Next is a whole New Ball Game. (Pun Intended). The Manager and Captain should work together, the Manager tells the team how he wants the team to play and the Captain enforces his plan on the Pitch, but is also allowed to change things around if he feels certain parts of a Game Plan isn't Working.
  23. A a White Horse walks into a bar and orders a Whiskey. What type of Whiskey? ask the Barman. We've got Teachers, Bells Whyte & McKay and even one named after you. What says the Horse Eric?
  24. Lets Stop Pretending Notts have Head Coach who hasn't Got a Clue, a Defence who Can't Defend and a Game Plan That Doesn't Work. Need I Go On? It doesn't matter who Maynard Picks it seems the Players don't want to Play for him, so No Matter what the Result is on Monday Maynard Needs To Be Gone by Tuesday Morning. Offer Jim O'Brien the Head Coach job till the end of the season hopefully he'll help the Players get some of their Dignity back and Start Playing for the Shirt. The Attendance on Monday will be Interesting and the Atmosphere will BE TOXIC and If the Owners are at the game maybe they'll understand they've made a Mistake in Hiring a Part Time Head Coach who is Totally Out Of His Depth. That's NOT to say I'm having a Go at the Brothers it's just I hope they realise, in Football you Can't Get Everything Right and Mistakes Will Be Made.
