Jokers Wild: Joke Of The Day.
I remember the time my Dad had a large throbbing boil on the end of his nose. Poor guy couldn't sleep because of the pain. Mum couldn't sleep because she was laughing. Anyway in the end Mum called the Doctor in. The Doctor arrived and took one look at Dad and from his Doctor's bag, produced a needle, a Great Big Steel Needle. He ushered all the family out of the Bedroom and we all stood on the landing Listening. You could hear poor old Dad hollering and screaming in pain, for a good ten minutes finally everything went quiet. We all waited then the Doctor came out of the Bedroom. How is he Doctor? asked Mum His nose looks a lot better now replied the Doc I've sown a Button on it.

Where do you see Notts in the next 5 years?
At Best midtable to lower reaches of League 1. Worst case fighting to get back into the EFL. I just hope that Notts stay on a Firm Financial Footing. Fans Match Day Comfort is Improved. Five years is a long time in Life let alone Football many things can and will happen, lets just wait and see.

Champions League Final At Wembley
I think it was much better when the Champions League was the European Cup a knock Competition between only the Champions of each Country. But as stated now it's all down to Money and Greed. Looking at this years final Dortmund only finished 5th in the German Bundesliga at least Madrid are Champions in the true sense of the word.

Jokers Wild: Joke Of The Day.
While out Paint balling, I started to move from my position, my mate called out Duvet Duvet What? I asked. I think he means Duck Down said my other Mate. The wife and me were watching that Dutch Detective series on Tele the other night. Van Der Valk? asked my Mate Nah. Clever Clogs. So I went into the local D.I.Y Shop and bought a big hinge. I took it to the checkout and the women asked Do you want a Screw for that? Lady I said I'm a Married Man.

SNUS.
@Robbie I've read the Sky report and it's says more or less what the BBC article said. It would appear that Snus should be Banned outright by the FA and any player should run the risk of also being Banned for using it. 50% players using it want to stop so an outright Ban can only be the way Forward, you'd think wouldn't you? Those players affected should then be given all the necessary Help in combating their Addiction.

Notts are interested in Chelsea goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe ???????
Why? Notts don't need to take a young keeper on Loan. Tiernan Brookes should be in the Squad next season. our head of Recruitment kept banging on about how Notts need to bring their own Talent through, and sending young Brookes out on Loan, only to have him replaced by an on loan Keeper of the same age is farcical, and isn't going to help Tiernan's development in any way, now is it?

Where are they now : Mike Edwards
A Good Strong Player for the Magpies. Good Luck and All The Best Mike.

Goalkeeper recommendations 2024/25 season
I would hope that the position of Goalkeeper is very much in the thoughts of the Recruitment team along side the need to sign Experienced Defenders at Notts. Getting Bart back ? Well Notts could ask and see if he was prepared to do a Didzy and come back to the Lane to finish his career regardless of the money on offer. Notts don't need another young Keeper, we have one in Tiernan Brookes, in my opinion it would be a mistake to ferry the Lad out on Loan this season. He should be at the Lane learning his trade from the likes of Bart or another Experienced Keeper ready to take over the Mantel of the Notts number1. I know I'm in Dream land but wouldn't it be Great to have Kasper back between the sticks at the Lane? Not only would he be an excellent role model for young Brookes but he'd be an Excellent Captain and Leader on the Pitch. I Can Dream Can't I?

SNUS.
@Robbie I would think that until something serious happens to a Player (Male or Female) such has collapsing during a game or a player developing a heart condition or cancer which can be linked to Snus, the Powers that be will ignore the problem ( much like linking dementia to heading one of the Old Leather footballs). Looking deeper into the subject over the past few seasons Players have collapsed during a game, could the use of Snus be part of the reason for their problem? This is of course if it can be proved the player as used the drug, on a regular basis. In fact would Medical Staff even look for a link between, Snus and the players condition? You are completely correct regarding Footballers being a Role Model to Young Fans. If memory serves former Forest and Leeds player Duncan McKenzie confessed to smoking a packet of 20 cigarettes a day and the Sun Newspaper at the time was up in arms about it and how McKenzie was setting a very bad example for youngsters. But looking at his addiction did smoking his packet cigarettes, give him the same buzz as Snus does to modern day players?

SNUS.
Well this is interesting. An Article appeared on the BBC Football Website regarding Snus and typically of the BBC they didn't allow Fans a HYS section on it. So here in a nut shell is the article. Snus is a tobacco substance which is used by players (in both the Male and Female) game) it comes in small packets like Tea Bags, which a player places it under the tongue and nicotine is slowly released into the Blood Stream, according to players it increases Mental Readiness and helps them relax and manage stress. The thing is it's addictive, it increase the risk of Oesophagus and Pancreatic Cancer and an increase in Heart Disease and mouth lesions. Now the Best Bit. Snus is ILLEGAL to be Sold in the UK, But NOT Against the Law. Well which is it? Surely if it's Illegal in the UK It Should Be Against The Law. Players have stated they purchase Snus from certain shops while others buy it on line. Why aren't these shops closed down? Why aren't these on line outlets also shut down? Truly the mind Boggles. Over 50% of players using this drug (because that's what it is) want to Quit and what do the Higher Ups in the FA do? The Usual ignore it and hope it goes away. It is the opinion of this writer, that it should be Banned and all players should be helped to kick the habit by the Footballing Authorities. I would hope any Notts Players who have become addicted to Snus would approach the Club and ask for help, in fact hopefully any Notts player with a problem with addiction, be it Snus (or any other Drug) Gambling or Alcohol will be helped, which I am sure they would. I would like to hear other Magpie Fans view on the Subject.

The Stuart Maynard evaluation
Stuart Maynard's Biggest Weakness and something I hope he's working on is his Man Management Skills. Luke Williams had it in Bucket Loads, he could make Poor Players Average, Average Players Good and Good Players Outstanding. Maynard as the backing of the Owners (despite his appalling record) so with that worry off his mind he should now be able to show the Players and Fans alike his True Coaching / Management Expertise. A full Preseason and the first half dozen matches, will give him the chance prove if he is the Man to take Notts Forward.

Does the Notts Squad need more League 2 experience?
What Notts need is a Leader on the Pitch and Kyle Cameron ain't it. This is something I feel strongly about and Yes I know I've been banging on about this for a Long Time, but it's true look at all the top teams and you can point to a certain player(s) who can lift their team mates when things get tough and inspire them and get the Best out of them, and help their team win important matches. Experienced players are a must for Notts to progress this season and should the Magpies get promoted to League 1, I would hope that all Squad members data would be looked at and those players who or should make the Grade in League 1 would be kept on, while the others would be let go. And let us also hope if Notts do go up, that New Contracts aren't given out willy nilly to players who are obviously not EFL Standard.

@ARLukomski Regarding Ruben as you have stated if Burchnall had still been in charge at the he probably wouldn't have been at Notts. It wasn't the fact that No other team were interested in him then? Luke Williams came in and we all know about LW.s Man Management skills so it was easy enough for him to convince the guy to stay. During Notts Promotion Push and Incredible day at Wembley was Ruben's best season in a Notts shirt but despite that and the Fact Luke Williams was still in charge as soon as the offer from Oxford came in it was bye Notts I'm off. He wasn't at Notts for 3 seasons out of Loyalty, he was at Notts because no other Club was interested in him and playing for the Magpies gave him the Ideal window to display his Talents, until an offer came in from elsewhere. He was offered a New Contract before the January Transfer window which he refused to sign, what Notts should have done is put him on the Transfer List in that Transfer Window, then they may have gotten some money for him, instead of him leaving on a Free.

Back To Back Promotions
@Robbie It will be interesting to see how long American Owners stick around if their club doesn't hit the Targets they set. Take Wrexham the Ultimate Target is the Premier League but by when ? 2026/2027 is the fastest they can get there providing of course, they are Promoted in successive years and aren't hit by losing Major players through injury or all manner of Problems which may hit the Club. It was said that if Wrexham hadn't been promoted then Phil Parkinson would lose his job. What Head Coach would want to work under those Conditions and such Pressure? What if Ipswich come straight back down again? Will their American Part Owners want to keep putting money into the Club? In hope of a Return to the Premiership or just cut their losses and go and Invest Elsewhere?

Fans Forum 01 May
@ARLukomski So your Happy with Notts kicking about in the Lower Leagues, having No Targets or Ambitions? No Notts fan has a fond memory of the Alan Hardy Era and his failure at the Lane, but just because he had a Target of getting Notts into the Championship within five years that idea is Now associated with Hardy doesn't mean anyone else with that ambition is wrong and things will end up at Notts has they did under Hardy if that time scale is adopted. Plus lets look at the last Target at Notts, which was to get the Magpies back in the EFL. and all the Excitement it caused with the Fans. Notts so very nearly got back up at the first attempt, and who's to say they wouldn't have, if the Final hadn't had to have been played behind closed doors because of the Lergi. and Magpie Fans had been at Wembley to cheer the Lads on. The Magpies got to the playoffs in following seasons but lost out. But the Target was still there the Ambition still burned. Then a Certain Luke Williams arrived and the Magpies fought to the bitter end with Wrexham in the League title chase only to lose out. Semi Final Day Notts vs Boreham Wood. 2-0 down that's it over for another season, but No. The Players ambition and the Target of a Playoff Final at Wembley and the Magpies came from behind to win the game 3-2. An Amazing Day at Wembley followed. How Did You feel when Cedwyn Scott's penalty went in and Notts were back in the EFL ? There's nothing wrong with setting targets and the feeling of Joy by reaching them. The Target of this past season and all the Media Hype was Notts getting back to back Promotions, it Didn't happen and Fans feel let down But already the Target of Playoff or Automatic Promotion is being talked about for next season. There's Nothing Wrong With Setting Targets Nor achieving them in a certain time Period. How many years do you think Wrexham's owners have given the Club to reach the Premiership? Finally overseas players Yes Ruben was one hell of a player, but look back over some of his past Notts interviews if you can find them and you'll se he was only using Notts as a Window to Showcase his Skills and soon as a better offer came off he went No Loyalty, compare him to Macca who wants to help Notts get into League 1.

Back To Back Promotions
Funny how only Real Football Fans remember the time before the Premier League. I wonder looking back at the Creation of the Premiership how many teams would have Voted for it , knowing what they know Now and how it's turned into Financial Benefit for only a few of the Top Clubs and Detrimental to all other Clubs who play in the League. Good Luck to the Tractor Boys, it's going to cost you a Hell of a Lot of Cash to stay in the Premier League let alone being able to be Competitive in it. Lets hope your owners have really Deep Pockets.

Yanks Know Nothing About Soccer.
American owners of English Football League Teams Know Nothing about as they call it Soccer. Prime Example from Today. Birmingham City Football Club, sitting 6th in the Championship in October, Sack John Eustace and in his place they Hire Wayne Rooney who's never accomplished anything of note in his Management Career, and on the last day of the Season they find themselves Relegated and the Blues are back in League 1 for the first time since 1995. The Birmingham Chairman Tom Wagner admits it was a Mistake to Sack John Eustace. YOU THINK? Typical Yank lets hire somebody that will bring Media Coverage for the Club, for a small amount of time even though he's a Poor Manager it doesn't matter if he ruins the Club. Former Notts Head Coach Luke Williams is also applying his trade under American Ownership at Swansea. What ever you do Luke don't leave the Swans for a better paid job at a bigger Club or like your predecessor you could find yourself being SUED by Swansea's American Owners. Of all the Present Yanks in Charge of English Football League teams Liverpool seem to have managed to have the Best. The Glazers at Manchester United have faced revolts from Fans and they have brought in Sir Jim Ratcliffe a Brit to help steady their rocky ownership. Wrexham also have American owners, but how long will they hang around if the Red Dragons fortunes go South? Does Memory serve didn't Notts once have an American in charge one time? He made such an Impression I've forgotten his name is this True or did I dream it? The Rumour that Taylor Swift was interested in buying the Magpies earlier in the season all that would have been is an EGO Trip and you can bet She'd have soon Lost Interest in the Magpies, when they weren't pushing for Promotion All I Can Say We Notts Fans Can Count Ourselves Lucky We've Got Chris And Alex Reedtz.

You'll never do it Missus. Do what? asked the Woman. Get that Big Horse into that Little Bag. My Mate named his daughter after her Grandma. In fact Passive Aggressive Psycho turns five tomorrow.. A friend of mine went to one of those wife swapping parties, he did quite well. He Got a Toaster a Hoover a Microwave and a Set of Six Crystal Cut Drinking Glasses for her.

You would hope that the Board are aware mixing it up by now is the way for Notts to go. Something else we fans will find out in Preseason and the first few games of 2024/2025.

Macaulay Will He Stay?
Will He Stay Or Will He Go? Will Macca have a Choice if that Once in a Life Time Bid Comes In? After all every Man or Club have their Price. What if a £3million offer came in ? Would the Notts board turn that offer down? Don't think so it will be Cheerio Macca thanks for everything. Come back when you're 34/35 and finish your career at the Lane. Of course I want Macca at the Lane next season along with Jodi and Dan Crowley but we need to be realistic because £3 million would be massive for a Club like Notts, but Pea Nuts to Championship Clubs hoping to make it to the Premier League. And Macca could make his mark in the Championship of that I have No Doubt.

Fans Forum 01 May
@Robbie If Stuart Maynard has recognised the problem is he his own man and will he be able and be strong enough to, enforce his own system even if it goes against the Boards wishes? Somehow I don't think so. This is where the Big Sam and Neil Warnock type of Manager would be a good fit, they could change things around and make the Board think it was their idea. Stuart Maynard doesn't have that experience, expect more of the same down the Lane next season. You've stated Maynard as Talked about mixing it in the New Season, we will see because Action Speaks Louder Then Words. As you say preseason will be crucial for the Magpies, I also hope that James Sanderson Lucien Mahovo and Tiernan Brookes will feature a fair bit in those matches. I think we'll get a fair idea how Notts season will unfold after their first few League matches, as you have said. Sticking to the "Model" will in my opinion result in Midtable Mediocrity at Best and Relegation back to the National League at the worse. Because even signing better Defenders won't help if it's insisted the Magpies continue the Tippy Tappy sideways then back to the Keeper type of Football, all that's going to happen is Teams will sit back and wait for mistakes to happen and they will and results will remain the same as this past season.

Too big to fail? Everton appear to be in some real financial trouble
This Might Be A Bit Over The Top. But if Everton Did Go Bust would that make the FA Realise that the current state of English Football is all wrong and Do Something About It. Do You Think?
-
Fans Forum 01 May
Do you think If Notts start to struggle and look in Danger of Being Relegated back into the National League, that the type of Football the Magpies now play isn't the right way play in League 2? It's Blood and Guts Football in League 2 and if it wasn't for the fact that Notts had a decent run at the start of last season then thanks to the Tippy Tappy Football that's played at the Lane it might have been the Magpies and Not Sutton back in the National League. It doesn't matter what percentage of the ball Notts have during a game but Notts need to score more Goals than the Opposition. Why does it appear that is something the Coaching staff fail to Grasp?
