Lewis Macari
I like Lewis Macari, but I think he needs to be honest and take whatever happens. He shouldnβt have gambled, even if he didnβt really know what he was doing at the time. Itβs good he hasnβt done it since coming to our club, but he still took a big risk with his career. It wonβt help us if he gets banned, even if itβs only for a short time. I really hope he doesnβt have a gambling problem and was just being a bit silly.

Weekly Chat - Monday 14th to Sunday 20th July
School felt like it went on forever today. When I got home, I had to do three bits of homework. I had to carry on with it after tea, and now Iβve only got a little bit of time before I need to go to bed for tomorrow. I wish I had more time, but thatβs just how it is.

Paterson post Stuttgart
I think Martin Paterson is just as cool as Luke Williams, but heβs different. He talks in a way that makes you listen and pay attention. Ian Burchnall used to make me feel sleepy when he spoke. Stuart Maynard was okay, but sometimes he said the same sort of stuff and it got a bit boring. Paterson is doing a good job, and I hope the club spends some money now. It would help the team and make things better for him.

Burton Albion under FA investigation
I really wish they would say what the charges are properly. It could be anything, and fans should be told right away when itβs announced. They donβt have to explain every little thing, just give us a clear idea of whatβs going on. That way, people arenβt left guessing.

Didzy joins Barnsley
It could end up being a good thing that he moved on, but I think the way he left did set the mood for some of the disappointment. It might have been better handled between him and the club so there was no room for gossip. People who believe our budget will shrink, or that the owners arenβt willing to spend more, should understand itβs clearly part of trying to make the club more self-sufficient and financially stable. Not having to pay McGoldrickβs wage might mean we can bring in two other players instead. It all depends, really, but I do hope he does well wherever he goes.

Match Discussion: Stuttgarter Kickers v Notts County
If things arenβt going well, I hope Martin Paterson has the courage to change the formation. Playing out from the back needs the right set-up, and sticking to three centre backs might not work every time. In past seasons we didnβt have much choice, but this time weβve got the players to switch to four at the back. It could help the team play with more balance and control.

Hearts v Dunfermline
Sometimes I think the crowd looks smaller than the numbers the club announces, though itβs only now and then. Most of the time it matches, but there are moments where it seems off. Iβve noticed when the club says on social media that a game has sold out, it often doesnβt feel that way in the stands. There seem to be empty seats more often than expected.

Match discussion: PSF - Darmstadt 98
I thought theyβd be loads better than us, since theyβre like a Championship team compared to us. But only letting in 2 goals isnβt that bad, and thatβs something to feel good about. If we want to play in a tougher league one day, games like this can help the players learn and get braver. Itβs nice that Martin Paterson really wants to help the squad get stronger. Testing stuff in friendlies doesnβt make us lose any points. So itβs alright to try new ideas. Itβs also good that Paterson switched things up. It helps him learn more about the team and how they play.

Martin Paterson Reflects on SV Darmstadt 98 Defeat but Sees Plenty of Positives
The players should get fitter and learn to stay focused, but they shouldnβt be scared to make strong tackles or worry about being too kind when playing. Football needs tough players who arenβt afraid to fight for the ball. Heβs played at high levels, so we know heβs got good experience. Our team sometimes looks tired or starts slow, and that can be a problem. If we work on our fitness and show the right attitude, things can really change. It makes me feel excited because it sounds like weβre going in the right direction. Thereβs a good chance weβll improve with better energy and teamwork.

Jack Stevens to Oldham
I think Notts should have tried to sign him because it made sense. But that doesnβt mean the club wanted him, and maybe Jack Stevens didnβt want to join Notts either. Our squad is good. Thereβs still stuff to work on, but saying weβre weaker feels wrong. We only really lost David McGoldrick, and he might be a very different player next season anyway. The main worry for me is replacing Alex Bass. That makes the team weaker, but I think Stevens could have helped by scoring goals. I just donβt agree when people say our team looks weak. Some players might not join because they think they wonβt get to play much, or that thereβs too much competition. Nobody knows whatβs really going on, so I donβt think people should worry too much or try to make others scared.

Would you feature James Sanderson in the First Team?
Mai Traore still hasnβt shown much. Heβs not really settled into English football yet. He did alright against Alfreton, but itβs clear he still needs time to catch up. To me, heβs a bit like James Sanderson. They both have things to learn. But I feel a younger player might be better at getting the ball to the right place and helping the team more.

Jatta Ain't Going To Germany
I think it shows we really need another striker, not just Matthew Dennis. I hope the team doesnβt start the season with only two strikers and expect to do well. Weβll probably need more if we want to get promoted. Iβm not sure about Traore. Maybe he has something to do with France? Itβs kind of strange and I donβt really get it.

Partick Thistle ask fans for help with new players lodgings
Just asking if anyone from Notts wants to let a Forest player stay over. No tricks or anything.

Would you feature James Sanderson in the First Team?
If the club arenβt taking him to Germany, I think heβs probably going out on loan. Itβs a bit annoying because heβs a home-grown player and could help the team without costing loads of money or needing to pay extra wages. I reckon James Sanderson is good enough to play with the first team now. He might only play sometimes, but I donβt get why young players sit on the bench and donβt play much. I really hope the club wants to start giving the young players more chances. They train hard and need a proper go at it.

New shirt
The away kit looks cool. I think itβs really nice and has a good style to it. Itβs something different, and I like that. I thought they might use yellow, not white. But I get why they changed it. Itβs fun when teams try out new looks.

Would you feature James Sanderson in the First Team?
I know James Sanderson still has lots to learn, but out of all the young players from the academy, I think heβs the one who really needs more game time. He always does well in friendly matches, he did last year and again when we played Alfreton Town on Saturday. I thought he was an attacking midfielder, but Iβve seen him play out wide too. If he can do both, thatβs really useful for the team. Maybe itβs time we start giving him a chance with the first team. Iβm being serious with this and would love to know what other fans think. Iβm not just saying it because Iβm young, I really believe heβs got something special.

Team Building: What Now?
Jak Alnwick, Jack Walton, and Ben Amos all look like good goalkeepers. Iβve heard some stuff about them, and they seem like theyβd be strong options in goal. Jason Kerr, Odcar Wallin, and Jerriel Dorsett could help tighten up the defence. I donβt know loads about them, but it sounds like theyβve got decent experience. Harvey Knibbs, Dan Kemp, Odin Bailey, Nick Powell, and Chris Sze might be exciting to watch in midfield. Iβd be interested to see how theyβd fit in and help make chances. Will Evans, Rhys Healey, Jayden Stockley, Richard Kone, and Issak Davies all sound like forwards who could score goals. If we got one of them, itβd be cool to see how many they could get.

The Grant Paradox
https://gaschat.co.uk/thread/23206/signed-romaine-sawyers?page=1 If Martin Paterson gives Conor Grant the support he needs, I think he could become a better player who creates more chances and scores more goals. Players like him do well when someone believes in them. I like how Grant plays, but Iβm not always sure he should be in the starting team just yet. He tries hard and is still learning, so he just needs more time to grow. Iβve heard Romaine Sawyers did alright in the Championship, but not all West Brom fans were big fans of his. It sounds like Bristol City fans were split too. I even shared a link where some of them were talking about it.

Alfreton
I liked listening to Luke Williams because the way he spoke was really interesting and made you think. Martin Paterson is different, he talks more straight to the point and sounds like someone who really knows football and wants to learn every day. I thought his answers were good. It would be better if the people asking the questions sometimes pushed him a bit more, not in a mean way, just so we could understand better why he was upset with Lewis Macari, and what he thought about the other players too. It would help to know if he plans to work on those mistakes in training.

Weekly Chat - Monday 7th to Sunday 13th July
I was so excited to get home from school today. I was hoping to see some news about a new signing, but nothing yet. Thereβs still time though. Itβs been a nice day, even though Iβve been stuck inside. Some people just kept going on and on about the same thing, and it got a bit boring. Tomorrow will be better. Iβve got football to look forward to, and even though Iβve got double maths after, itβs still the best day of the week.

New signing Barry Cotter
I think I saw him warming up before the game against Alfreton Town, but after that, I didnβt see him again. I donβt think he got on the pitch. I should probably check if he was on the bench, but from what I remember, I donβt think he was.

Alfreton Town v Notts County
There were lots of good things to take from the game. It helped Paterson see what still needs work and how to get the team playing the way he wants. I really liked what he said after the match. He answered the questions clearly and didnβt make any excuses.
