  1. its pleasing and i hope we can now just focus on a achieving the best position that is possible. stuart maynard sounds like a decent appointment and for a club of our size, it's nice to avoid the trap of hiring someone that has the reputation but maybe not heart for a lower tier team. i think maynard will repay our decision to give him a chance at this level.
  2. i watched the film with benedict cumberbatch where he portrayed alan turing in the the imitation game. we have a lot to be thankful for with the computer and alan turing. the war could have turned out a lot different and ultimately it proved to be a game changer, this and churchills relentless desire to fight for our freedom.
  3. i am surprised tbh, i would have thought it would be a big problem.
  4. when they showed the images of this on the news i could not even see what they were talking about. i can only see it when you highlight the ring, so no wonder we have been missing it for decades. its actually quite a cool discovery.
  5. hello, @Harry Buckley. its nice to see you have joined us. i have given you a follow. its nice to see you join other members of your family, @GrannyPie would be most proud. @super_ram, @Chris, @cheeky~k8, @super_pie, @Dash_16k, @CutiePie, @william1984 and @Harrys_Mummy.
  6. Bristol City 1-0 Watford Norwich City 0-2 West Bromwich Albion Exeter City 2-0 Cambridge United Stevenage 1-1 Barnsley AFC Wimbledon 2-0 Crawley Town joker Barrow 0-1 Crewe Alexandra Eastleigh 0-1 Oldham Athletic Ebbsfleet United 0-0 Hartlepool United
  7. its going to be just as tough as it was at their ground, i think any good results would be a massive boost. i would also say a point would be a decent out come, obviously i hope for more but the main thing is to come away undefeated. stockport will fancy their chances and i can see them being harder as the game starts, i hope we can grow into the game.
  8. no, i would not know how to do anything worth sharing.
  9. awesome goal, i am surprised the player was given the time to connect to the ball but something like that is difficult. i think its one of the best goals i have seen in any highlights.
  10. how did anyone score? it looks hard to play with those conditions. if it was heavily raining again can you imagine the danger and difficult it would have. would a keeper even dive to save the ball?
  11. i dont know how messi keeps getting acknowledgements when there are far more productive players out there now. hes still world class but there are players who doing more than him. its the same with ronaldo.
  12. welcome to pon @Thomas Cotton.
  13. welcome to pon @Michelle Evans.
  14. they need to get stricter with the spending because the overspending is risking clubs long term future, it will be difficult to do when teams want the best players and transfer fees are overinflated. fans need to stop over spending for the short terms, even at our level and try to see how things are improving for the better. i hope man city will be the next to be fined, i think they should have further punishments for their continued floundering of it.
  15. hello, @True Magpie. i am glad you have agreed to join and help out. welcome to the site and pon!
  16. its not fair that richer clubs can get away with point deductions, but at the same time this cant be used to justify other clubs overspending. none of it is right and action should be taken. unfortunately for forest, their fans wished the worst to everton and ended up with the same penalty. i have no sympathy because everyone has been acting on the other side of the trent like they have money coming off trees. even earlier in the season bbc radio nottingham suggested they had £60-80m left to spend. its all guesses clearly but they want the club to be overspending just to stay up in the premier league and thats dangerous long term.
  17. i think it was one of alan hardys better decisions, tough but correct. yes it could have been handled better but it was obvious that we needed to restart it. those players were not being paid solely by the gate receipts of the ladies game but that's a different debate. i am in all favour of the new womens team because i think they show a lot of community spirit and love notts as a whole.
  18. it is mad to think how easily we concede and that number should not be anywhere near to the amount we score, which shows there is something wrong. nobody can mask it and say well its unfortunate to concede that many, it clearly needs to be addressed so that we can continue to improve and if we dont well i believe we will be fine but we do need to strive for better. conceding large amounts of goals wont help us retain players, they will get poached because its the one obstacle that is holding us back.
  19. glad you did not get scammed those people are annoying and evil.
  20. we either tend to miss the snow, or it ends up as rain or we get covered in it. i dont mind it, i also like football games when the brighter balls are out. from a weather point of view, whatever comes we just have to get on and make the best of it.
  21. andy murray has gone down hill a lot with his performance, i dont follow a lot of tennis but i used to like watching murray. last time i did he was very predictable and very much outplayed.
  22. its not good news, but 75 is a good age and although its horrible to know that he has cancer. i hope he manages to make the most of his time with his family and friends, he should be able to see the remainder out well. very emotionally, but it can still be positive in a way.
  23. mitch rose which is a saddening link between us and them. considering how things have ended up.
  24. im not a big rugby fan although i thought it was interesting to see them connected with notts. whilst i think it was an excuse to blame them for our own results, they did rip our pitch up. i hope they manage to do okay with what has happened due to flooding.
