  1. its a good draw for the 1st round, i think they will be wanting to cause an upset and the money to them wont be something i think they would take for granted. we need to apply ourselves well and win the tie to show we took it seriously.
  2. i think there are times when comments are not forgiving and pre established opinions control the narrative but i do understand the criticism. a lot of members on pon have been fair, giving him credit for improving but its different on social media which at times is ott. for me, his mistakes make me nervous, he can do well but he is prone to causing trouble. that said, he dont always get a fair reflection of his performances and notts fans have always been critical of keepers.
  3. i was at the game on my own, thought barnet stuck well to their game plan and that was very disruptive to the way notts like to play. it made it difficult to counter and pass, they did very well to control the play. started with keeping it scrappy and in the air, which suited them but when it was played on the floor, they attacked with a lot of threat. Thankfully, we forced them into shooting more from distance and the 8 minutes seemed a bit annoying when it was announced, to score in the final minutes i take it back. out fans were great thought the 100+ minutes.
  4. kelle roos, i thought notts could have been much better and the win felt amazing. roos is the reason we would have left with a point, had hall not scored.
  5. yes, he looked very good. a lot of barnet players tried keeping it in the air early on but kanu looked a real threat when they switched to the floor.
  6. Birmingham City 0-0 Hull City West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Preston North End joker Blackpool 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers Doncaster Rovers 2-1 Northampton Town Grimsby Town 1-2 Gillingham Newport County 1-0 Cheltenham Town Altrincham 1-1 Woking Brackley Town 1-1 Gateshead
  7. Burton Albion 1-1 Bolton Wanderers Joker Exeter City 1-1 Reading Leyton Orient 1-0 Doncaster Rovers Wigan Athletic 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers Chesterfield 0-1 Salford City Crewe Alexandra 1-0 Bromley Fleetwood Town 1-0 Harrogate Town Tranmere Rovers 1-1 Barnet
  8. i much prefer martin paterson for how he reads the game and approaches them, not afraid to make changes or to sub important players. there feels a much better logic behind his decision. stuart maynard looked good on the training pitch, but his squad selections and changes often took any momentum out of games even before kick off. i think it was more confidence than form that played part of the issue, we were thin in the attacking momentum. 2. the home game felt more like 50/50 in terms of winning, away i would say very few believed and the atmosphere at wimbledon was not very good. the performance on the pitch was not encouraging, as we looked unlikely to have an attack. i always felt junior morias should have started, as he made a difference coming on and did more in those minutes than mai traore did with much longer. 3. we could have done something had chances gone our way at meadow lane, but by the end of the game i did not fancy going to wimbledon without jatta. his absence caused the biggest impact, as with him there might have been a chance. wimbledon played us off the park at their ground, we never looked like scoring and even having a shot on goal seemed unlikely. for me, i think notts went feeling sorry for themselves.
  9. yes but only on tv. i do not watch much youtube, i only really watch vlogs and things relating notts, football or video games. the first 48 and killer cases are two i watch quite frequently.
  10. it was a very good win, and i do think it has helped with overcoming the defeat to crewe. defeats like that can linger and lead to frustration but i think the win is the positive outcome we needed especially for the oldham match we dominated and won.
  11. i think notts are just going to wait for the january transfer window but it does show that there are some very good players who could come in and help. i wished we would sign another keeper, i think roos will improve but i am not convinced he will save penalties and he makes at least one big mistake per game with the exception of the odd one where he does not.
  12. i think there is a lot of reasons why we should be patient and not start demanding things to be changed, as if it can suddenly just happen but through hard work and further improvements. i do wonder if roberto gagliardi will be vindicated come the end of the season. dont get me wrong, i am happy knowing richard montague is back and i do think it will work itself out but gagliardi took the brunt of a lot of criticism.
  13. i hope he can pick up from where he left and resume his role like he has never been away, he should thrive back at notts and i am pleased to see him return. i hope the next big opportunity that comes his way, he reflects a little more on what can be achieved here for a long period than a short term of success.
  14. there is a lot more for oldham to learn from the game than ourselves, but notts looked very comfortable until they scored. it could have been another 4, or even 5-0. but the game ending 3-1 is not a negative even though it would have been nice to keep a clean sheet. we can blame roos for not getting to the ball first and being lobbed, but so many players were caught out of position. they are equal to the blame, i think if we are going to attack with so many players keeping one or two players back in central areas would help with recovery. biggest takaway in my eyes is how good we look when chances keep coming, we could have had far more and whilst conor grant had a couple of chances. how many did jatta miss? he had a lot more and could have scored 4 by himself, scoring 2 should not give him a free pass.
  15. its typical of notts to take their time to finally do something, its good to see but i cant help but feel we should have been working on this sooner. i guess its better late than never at all.
  16. roos, mcdonald, platt, bedeau, tsaroulla, jodi, palmer, robertson, iorpenda, hall, jatta. subs: griffiths, aljofree, bennetts, luker, jarvis, dennis, there could be players like gordon pushing for the bench, but i like the though of a more attacking bench.
  17. @Piethagoram you should have titled it 'fraud of hearts'.
  18. what do americans know about football? the wealthy owners of club would always like to keep the premier league a closed league but that wont help them generate the amount of advertisement that the league attracts. i would question the sanity of any fan who felt differently, because promotion and relegation makes it supporting a club mean something, when you see just how better you have it when things are good.
  19. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @NottaCounty2001. if you did not mean to have the a, you can change it in your account settings under change username or speak to one of the admin team.
  20. the activity streak is a cool idea, i think we all sometimes undervalue the difference we make and its just a gentle reminder that one or a few posts per day can make a lot of a difference. my highest amount in a row says 18, so i am going to beat that. 😁
  21. hello, welcome to the pride of nottingham. we are a very friendly community @Michelle Robson. i hope you become part of that.
  22. play on, build confidence in the squad we have because all the players who are on international duty can be covered for a single game. jodi has looked better since crewe, but we do have other options. the biggest loss would be jacob bedeau but i agree it could give someone else the minutes and see if it can force another defender to step up as we have seen with rod mcdonald since matty platt has been inconsistent and injured.
  23. martin paterson said when he arrived that he wanted his players to be used in the right way and that they need to be played to their strengths and not asked to do something that is outside of their skill set. without matt palmer in this notts squad, we would be lost much like we were in our first season back when he got injured. palmer plays such an important role that it helps to get the best out of other players. he makes everything seem so simple, but hes not a natural goalscorer. hes a provider and a creative midfielder who is the link in our chain. scott robertson flourishes alongside palmer, take palmer out of the squad a lot of players do not seem the same. john bostock suffered from this, and he ended up being released because he just was not the same player as he could be alongside our skipper. a lot of people are harsh on players, especially conor grant. he works so hard on the ball and can make things happen, he just does not seem to be a natural goalscorer but i think he could improve given the chance. whereas i think palmer is set in his ways and we are fortunate to have him in our team.
  24. busier week than ever at work, a lot of overturns and organising. i dont have any more training now until a few months time, when i have to re do certain ones but i did enjoy doing the further management courses. outside of work, i have not got up to much but i have been thinking about joining a gym. there is one about 15 minutes from me near tesco but i am not so sure. i dont feel like cycling in the rain or cold, but i like to keep active. with swindon being postponed now, i want to find something else to do on saturday because i want to avoid the boredom and lack of no notts. with the internationals its not like i go watch derby or another local championship or league one team.
  25. well done rod mcdonald, pleased to see another pon man of the match won by him.
