Weekly chat Monday 2nd to Sunday 9th June
today i have been running errands for my mum most of the day, i usually fetch her shopping from asda in west Bridgford but she wanted to and look. so i took her to sainsburys in casle mania and then to some smaller shops like iceland before they closed early with it being a sunday. the afternoon i was still running her around, but its made a nice change. evening i have been catching up on studying for the managerial courses i have coming up. reading through policies and stuff, most i do know so i am confident of passing. night everyone π

Leam Richardson now 2-5 to Become New Notts Manager ~ Very Insightful Interview on winning Promotion to the Championship with Wigan as a Manager
this is a great insight into leam richardson, i am not sure who i really want to becoming in as the head coach but hes one of the names which i think could do well with our squad. i am very much hoping we can get efl experience, instead of someone outside of it.

Sheffield Wednesday's financial plight
i think it shows the importance of getting your finances right in football, but there is always the warning sign about over spending and the fans do need to take into consideration what realistically can be spent. i feel sorry for the owl fans, as they are a good club but are certainly amidst of some very serious trouble.

Bradford City sign Tilt
it will be interesting to see how well bradford adapt to league one because i actually think we have a stronger squad in comparison to them, they did well to get automatic promotion but i think if we kept on course we would have gone up. i do wish them well, and tilt looks to be a decent signings for them.

Should a Head Coach have input on the recruitment of players process?
i think the head coach should have the final say and have the biggest input into player recruitment, i dont mind that the club have their own way of recruiting because it can give the manager more time to focus on tactics, upcoming games but i think when signings are made without a manager it does not really make much sense. people can clash, and when the head coach has the final say, at least they are agreeing to some level that they can work together. the togetherness within the squads camp has been very good, so i dont think its much of an issue but i do think signings should be made when a manager is present.

Crystal Palace Could be kicked out of the Europa League
why approve owners then? its blocking a teams success, and yes, there could be cheating but this is where the rulemakers need to smarter. i feel sorry for crystal palace, especially their fans. a fair outcome would be to allow palace to play, but if something happens like them playing a team connected to their owner, turn action needs to be taken.

Summer Transfer Rumours 2025!
i miss when we was not always linked to the rumours, it was good when we signed someone out of the blue. people are catching on and even though a fair portion tends to be just the rumour mill. how the club managed to keep things quiet made things more exciting. i dont know much about this player, i dont really remember liking any of their players, but that does not mean he would not be good here. just as a team i thought tranmere was poor.

DAVID MCGOLDRICK | ALL THE GOALS
david mcgoldrick was not always consistent but he could produce the goods when needed. just a classy finisher when hes in that mode. hes going to be missed for this magic. some of the goals are well beyond l2 level.

Going to the clink? edit Jay Emmanuel-Thomas jailed
what a *it, i remember him being a game changer and highly rated when he played for our neighbours. he tended to be on the large looking side, but looked class. how do you go from playing professional football to this. he must be desperate or just into the life style having money brings.

pon and the new site
i really like the changes, once fully back with everything in place i think fans will like it too. one thing i miss is the button to create new content. the new editor, design, mobile navigation are very impressive. everything is very snappy and the home page looks great. i like how easy and clear everything is, the modern feel really makes a huge difference. what does everyone else think?

New signing Matthew Dennis
he looks a good signing, i think it shows that the club thought morias either was not good enough or his height was a concern. i hope we give dennis plenty of chance to showcase what he can do, a natural finisher with pace should thrive in our squad.

Who would be your first choice Notts defenders for 25/26?
i really like lewis macari but sometimes i just think hes playing in the wrong position. he can be fantastic as a centre back but when hes not in great form he just looks out of place. rod mcdonald looks like a good rotational player, but he makes me nervous at times. matty platt and jacob bedeau are class, but sometimes i think we need someone to come in for bedeau. i think if we managed to sign another young centre back that can grown along side the 4 I have mentioned i think we would be stronger.

Does The Notts Team Need to be More Physical?
a little more physical would not harm, wimbledon seem to get away with it and doncaster turned themselves around but i do agree more creativity, and better forward play would bring more success on the pitch. i think scott robertson could become a general in midfield, hes already showed some signs of not being scared to challenge or go for 50/50s.

Macca transfer listed
maybe with david mcgoldrick not reversing, notts might try to land macaulay langstaff on loan? a good spell by returning to us, could make it easier for millwall to recoup some if their fee and hes not sitting on the bench doing nothing. i know it seems unlikely, but you can never say for sure what could happen in football.

Didzy the news we didnβt want to hear
football changes but we have to remember that he might wanting to focus on his private life and injury, last season was a big one for us and i dont think we have to worry. we might not be able to replace him, but no player is impossible to find someone else able to become a fan favourite. i hope hes just retiring.

Match Discussion: Play Off Semi - The Dons (H)
it does seem like more fans are expecting notts to struggle, i feel unsure myself and nervous. i dont think we have to worry as much, just play our game and try to be the best that is possible. the main thing is to setup a lead for the away counter, or in the very least make it easier to go about.

Colchester United takeover?
another american takeover, which i hope for the sake of colchester united that it is done with the clubs best interest and not a vanity project.

Comparison of League 2 Clubs Wage Bills
you might say that we have overachieved the past two seasons, not being in a relegation battle but tipped for promotion is so much better. i think we spend our resources wisely and that shows when we have spells at the very top. i find it very hard to be dishearten by everything, especially those who want stuart maynard out. i just dont see the point of being so anti maynard when he has done a lot better than luke williams. i dont think williams would have wanted defenders this past summer, i think he would have wanted to focus on being top heavy in the attacking department. having the 12th highest budget, and finishing 6th looks a lot healthier.

Match Discussion: Play Off Semi - The Dons (H)
issue with jodi, hes still not quite ready, and starting him might be a big mistake. Only in the second half, did he look like his old self. It was quite apparent that he struggled, which is natural but he looked scared to be challenged, and even more so when he had the ball. maybe, he should be considered an impact sub? brought into the game around the 55th minute? i love jodi, we all do but he needs a little more man-management, and whilst being played should see him regain his confidence. he left, looking miserable after the doncaster game. For our sakes, but his, I just feel we need to start someone else ahead of him. david mcgoldrick being placed back is a bigger priority for me.

Chicksen returns
pleased to see adam chicksen listed as a notts player here on pon, unlike the club itself. clearly hes on the way out, and its such a shame because he could fit our system quite well if stuart maynard could get the best out of him. i do agree he has flashes of brilliance and struggles, i think its confidence but i dont think we owe him anything. i also would not expect woking to sign him permanently knowing he has the injury. its unfortunate for chicksen, but i do wish him well and until his contract expires he is a notts player.

Ian Burchnall interview with Radio Nottingham
he was not the worst manager, i do not get the hate towards neal ardley he stuck with notts during a point where nobody was being paid and he was a good person for helping place notts back on track. ian burchnall gets too much credit for the change in philosophy and recruitment which happened above his position. he did well to coach the team, but he was far from perfect. people said ardley would setup in hope for a draw, burchnall was worse because he would remove any hope of getting a point by bringing defenders at the cost of forwards and to do anything you needed changes at the other end. i do dislike the way he left, and his interviews because i thought he was quite dull and boring. as for saying fond things about his time here, its nice but we have moved on. he needs to let it be, as any credit of where notts are now from his time is very limited.
