  1. i am glad that notts gave him time and i think its good that he has managed to move closer to home, i wished he was still here because i thought he was a good player and someone who could get goals if played as a striker. i hope hes happier in carlisle.
  2. i did not watch the game and only learned about the result now. its a good win for england, pleased to see harry kane score and the debut goal. did anyone else watch it?
  3. it really depends on if we can get back to winning ways and how long that might take, as this rate i think there is more a chance that the club will fall out of the playoffs. i still believe we have the squad that can finish in the automatics, but we are not playing like it. the amount of teams who are grinding out results and showing a clearer ability to score goals, whereas even when we are able to score, we concede one more and it undoes the effort. the playoffs is going to be such a gamble for any team that makes it but i think we need to try to at least finish within them. 8 games remain, we need to see a dramatic increase in form. the rollercoaster of a season has done the loopty loop and notts are now faces the point of the biggest drop. doncaster and bradford being two remaining games, those will be hard. donny and port vale have a game in hand, we lost the chance of making ours count. i would hope as our season excels to the final point of the ride we are able to keep within the playoffs at least.
  4. i was aware he was a boxer, but i knew him better has the face of the george foreman grills. not that i dont appreciate that he won the world title twice or had some amazing fights. rest in peace, george foreman.
  5. from start to finish i thought matt palmer was class, some of his passing was brilliant and more so the balls which cut through the crewe defence. he played a blinder which was pin point to david mcgoldrick who unfortunately was not able to control the ball, but had he done he would have been clean through to have a chance in the first 20 minutes against their keeper. i wished we had tested them more, filip marshall did not look the best but i really do feel palmer did a lot of positives yesterday.

  7. hello, @arb welcome to pon. its great to have you here with us.
  8. welcome to pon @Lullapie, you have a great username! i hope to see you around the site.
  9. welcome to pon @ASHLEY GUY, good to see you join us.
  10. i agree, dont use var for penalties and make sure the ref watches the player striking the ball and the assistant watches the keeper. i dont believe the penalty should have been disallowed because it was all in one movement and even watching back, you cant tell which foot strikes the ball first but with it being in one instant motion i think that is a enough to apply common sense.
  11. you learn something new every day, i never heard about the backstory of it and its a great read. i wonder if johnny bostock can count himself lucky that cedwyn scott scored in the playoff final? otherwise some notts fans might have took his miss out of him more than what happened.
  12. i wished it would have been something i experienced during my years of supporting notts, we were pretty average and woeful until munto came along and the fake money lifted us. so thankful for the years we have had now under the reedtz but the 90s is a special time.
  13. how am i only just learning about this, the comments are funny but at least hes speaking some sense. i do think hes speaking more out of frustration which is making him a little too honest. its not the response you want trying to secure a league one place. mansfield fans will like it, but he is blaming the players and taking no accountability for his or nigel cloughs actions.
  14. good luck to the womens team, i hope they feel happy with how the season has gone and manage to claim a victory to seal off the amazing progress they have made.
  15. went for a bike ride earlier, locked my bike up near wollaton hall and went for a jog around the the lake. its nice that we are finally getting nicer days back to back. i am at home now, and just going through the forums. hope everyone is also enjoying today.
  16. @Fan of Big Tone has his holidays, @Piethagoram appears to enjoy nature and visiting places where he can get to grips with nature. i enjoy going for bike rides when the weather is nice, i also enjoy regular walks but not so much when its cold. aside from work and football, i dont do a lot and i am stuck in a very routine way of life. its a good thing, as i dont like making changes if i can because its harder with being autistic. i do think its good to explore other things though, so i wonder if the community feel like sharing what they do outside of football?
  17. roll on when football does become regulated with the finances and teams have to start taking into account what is spent more carefully, i would hope it leads fans to be more appreciative of the club when it does well and show better support when times are tougher.
  18. its nice to know russia can do some good, its a shame these days they are more like germany was back then and only care about those in power. this is a very sad anniversary though.
  19. i think we have a good squad regardless of where the budget puts us. there are players who would need time, and others that would easily make the step up. as a team notts would need to be stronger as a group. i feel there could be improvements made, if we could score more goals from open play and without relying on being as direct as we are right now. then that would help. most people would be patient enough i think, but it would be a challenge. my concerns about promotion is if we start off like mansfield did and be up within the promotion area, only to drop off and the doom and gloom mongers start to be more vocal when really it would be an overachievement. mansfield start this season is a vital sign as to how important early form is and how teams newly promoted can struggle in spells. i can see us being similar if we were to get promoted.
  20. bradford park avenue signed a couple of notts players after they had left us if i remember right, lewis knight being one. we signed him from them and never really played him enough to get the most out of his ability. his pace was lightening quick, such a shame because i thought he looked promising. i dont know a lot about bradford park avenue but it would be nice to see a club of their history higher in the leagues.
  21. anyone else disliking all these early kick offs? its nice at times because you spend the evening doing something else, but then it seems to be more each season. its a good chance for notts to put this poor form behind us and to start something positive, being more clinical on goal would be a big boost. not that i think crewe will be an easy game, far from it but it is one where winning holds more importance the longer our form remains poor. crewe are only just in slightly better form, but notts has to have that fight and winning mentality.
  22. i am off work for the rest of the week, i decided to have a bike this morning and i really liked to get out. i used to do it quite often but with the cold weather being around for longer i did not bother. now i am home, wondering what to do with my time. πŸ˜† i dont think i could cope if i were tone, i need things to distract me but having time to be idle just does not suite me. tho seeing nice places does sound nice, what places can i visit is beeston that are nice?
  23. some people are in a rush to do things like this, without doing the proper checks and i find it very disrespectful. its happened over here, you get people keen to post the news for reactions and it turns out they were wrong. its sad...
  24. i have not seen anything about giving feedback about this at any point, did any other members? i dont get why it has to be the top of the kop that gets the safe standing, it would be better lower but the club does what it wants. i am not against those who stands but i am curious if this effects me. no email, just the status so time will tell.
  25. the players need to take the criticism right now on the chin, just try harder to be tighter at the back and make better judgements when it comes to passing. i felt impressed with the workrate and effort in the first half to win the ball back. it is a little annoying to see us pass back, but sometimes it is understandable. i think notts fell into the habit of doing this to much against chesterfield and where as sam slocombe is being blamed. it was hardly his fault, yes he had a moment which he made up for with a brilliant save with his legs but the decision to pass the ball back to him, full well knowing he keeps being pressed and is not the most confident at passing is just a silly mistake. i think going into the second half, all the positives of the first half performances just drifted. we had spells, but it took us longer to suss out chesterfield and it favoured them. notts looked good attacking, but lacked options in the box and was very wasteful on goal.
