  1. i think to be fair, we realised that we could have better squad members. he is very much like adam chicksen to me, i just think he tried to give everything but his last game against afc wimbledon at their ground showed we could do better. i wish him well at southend.
  2. kilbrindle tea - brewed with rainwater, aged in fog, and strong enough to straighten your kilt. 😂
  3. i guess it depends on how out of the blue the bid came in for him, if the club were aware he was being scouted than the wise decision would be to compile a list of keepers especially when we needed one in the first place with tyler miller never making an appearance. with him leaving, it left us to find someone to fill that place but now we have to do it again. could we try to talk to miller to get him back? i am hoping we can sign someone who is just as good as alex bass. its gutting to see him leave, i am getting sick of forest fans gloating that we dont seem to be strengthening and making comments about relegation looming. like they know enough about the squad, but it feels like we do need to get a good signature to boost morale with losing such a quality keeper.
  4. @Robbie, a lot of fans are saying he is not good enough to be a coach. a lot of people dont seem to like him which seems unfair but i hope we dont have to rely on him to step back into the net for us. i dont mind so much as third choice tho.
  5. welcome to meadow lane, harry griffiths. i hope you get a chance and i hope you enjoy your time at notts.
  6. finishing up from work, one of my line managers who is a forest fan said to me we have sold our keeper and gloated that we look weak for a team wanting promotion. its been very humid, even inside work it seemed like metal could melt if it got any hotter. the day has not been all that bad, it seems to have flown by but nothing much really to add. it was very routine, and very uneventful except for the news of bass. 😥
  7. gutted to see that alex bass as left us, but its a good return for what we purchased and i do think we can find a reliable keeper to replace him. i would love for him to stay, but we are a club that needs to sell to reinvest. pressure will be on the transfer panel to bring in someone and further signings to give us the hope we need as fans to go into the season. losing important players in past seasons has held us back but there is no reason why we cant sign in quality if we work hard.
  8. i believe its done, i think its the reason as to why we have not announced any more home games other than cardiff. if you look carefully at the picture that is in the official sites fixture list, you will see the pitch seems to have been relayed. if it has not, then its amazing how well it looks to be naturally grown as a whole instead of fixing patches because usually they stand out a bit. it makes me think the safe standing is currently in the works and will be announced soon.
  9. welcome to pon @Ash. i was pretty young when i first arrived here and some of the members really made me feel comfortable sharing my thoughts. you will like it here.
  10. i think it was our first season back in league two, when we had a trialist who scored and did well in the games that he played. does anyone remember who it was? i think he was a defender. i do see the benefits of trying players, but i do agree they tend to be players teams overlook and are more squad or rotation bound.
  11. the 10 games judgement is being pushed, but i think its only right. his interview was very good. he gave a good insight into how he thinks and the winning mentality from us has been missing at times. the segments on east midlands and itv for us was interesting to see what their thoughts were. i hope fans do give him time and we can have a real go at automatics.
  12. after making so much money, why did he not actually legitimise his business? surely that would have made more sense than continuing to be fake. i dont condone it, but you could forgive the hustle to a point if it meant he setup a real company that benefitted people.
  13. i would not say i was disappointed because i know nothing about him, and i cant let that control my feelings. i had hoped we would go for someone more experienced, but i fully trust the club. i dont know why some fans are so quick to have silly reactions. i mean on social media, its the reason why i have not replied sooner because i hate it. its just the shortest, and most angriest comments. its like everyone is fighting to post the worst possible comment. i did see someone on x saying the brothers will regret it, that they refuse to put money in and that they are cheap states. personally, i think most people should be able to do well with this squad. we have a far better team than when we got relegated. though, i wished we had that strike force now, as it would help jatta. i hope martin paterson proves the doubters wrong. i mean those who are still moaning.
  14. @Fan of Big Tone, still no luck?
  15. i dont wish to speculate on why hes left, but i do want to wish him well. since his arrival he has done well as part of our coaching setup.
  16. i decided not to go, but i am sure members and notts fans that do make the trip will find this to be useful. i wonder if @Piethagoram has noticed this.
  17. with a bit of faith, a lot of hard work and our full support the new coaching team, with head coach martin paterson will do just fine. i am sure he will come in wanting to win games and that attitude is something we might have been missing previously. he seems to have his pulse on how burton played, and did well to keep them up as they seem destined to be relegated.
  18. i can see luke williams looking to find a stable job, he might want to take some time away from management as his time at swansea has dinted his reputation. sometimes managers need to step away, find employment and then have another go. he could very well be a manager or someone higher up than ground staff. he does have the ability to speak and influence people. those are transferable skills. if it is really him, i have nothing but respect.
  19. welcome to pon @BridgyPie. its always nice when a new member says hello and tells us a little about themselves. its a nice ice breaker, but i really do hope you enjoy the site.
  20. i think archie mair would be a good shout, he fits the backup option. i know @Cobby mentioned on facebook that he gave heart stopping moments when he photographed some of the gateshead games. i think being at morecambe would have gave him some vital experience.
  21. i have never had that connection with watching the world cup or euros, not when i was younger. it was only after 2010 when i first showed real interest in football, and that was more notts. i do like seeing games like this tho, you can appreciate how things have improved and its even better when people share their memories of it. watching the highlights, brazil still have no improved that much in defence. by far the best going forward, the level of confidence is off the scale.
  22. the club and the online store does not always work perfectly when the demand is there for products, i had to fetch my home shirt from last season from the club shop because the site said they had sold out. what is more annoying is people buying more than they should, then sticking them on ebay for silly fees.
  23. gillingham mk dons walsall notts shrewsbury bristol rovers swindon chesterfield crewe salford at the moment i think it will look like this.
  24. i just hope its not as simple as last seasons away shirt, otherwise i am sure i should like or at least be able to accept it.
  25. anyone doing language speaking lessons? it might take awhile for me to get the hang of it. 😂
