  1. very interesting comments, i have not watched a darren moore interview but have seen clips of him talking and he does seem to really but his heart into what he says. yet to see him managing in league two seems a bit strange, when he has done well much higher up. port vale seem to be a good side, so it will come down to who wants it the most tomorrow.
  2. i like kellan gordon, i think he can cover whilst jodi jones is out and he could become a player that is a vital part of what makes stuart maynards side work as a first team member. he does work hard and i like the ability he has to do different types of crosses, its not just hit in or try to curve it, sometimes he puts in crosses which are consistently begging to be taken. i find what he says to be very humble, i am glad hes back amongst his family.
  3. well deserved, i hope alex bass sees that he has been voted as the pon man of the match. he looked solid against carlisle and really deserves this. Pride of Nottingham - Notts County Community WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Alex Bass has been named the Pride of Nottingham Man of the Match, as voted by the fans, from yesterday's 2-0 win over Carlisle United at Brunton Park. #Notts #COPY #AlexBass
  4. tbh it seems more speculation and we dont know if spurs will want to loan another player our way, its impossible for me to make an opinion on that. i know nothing of the player and i dont really believe tottenham would want to loan another player to the same club that has their academy captain. clubs dont usually loan players in pairs, its quite rare and we only signed ryan yates and jorge grant because they were local to us. i dont think most academies what to send their players to far either. i think we would be a good option for clubs to consider loaning players out but i would not say i expect it. as for our own players, i would love to see them play more. if we avoid playing them because we are scared of clubs signing them, surely there is something that can be done when they are signed to a professional deal and are beyond the academy level? even if they still work within it.
  5. well done @Countyman. its good to see more members reaching the higher ranks.
  6. port vale seem to be in decent form, undefeated in their last 5, with 3 wins and 2 draws. currently 7th in the league but i dont know much about them as a team since we have spent so long in the national league.
  7. london is an expensive city, the prices in football will reflect that. it is surprising how they still manage to find fans who can afford to pay for season tickets despite the costs involved in living. it always surpises me how clubs like newcastle who have money now, previously struggled to sign good players. outside of the signings like michael owen and alan shearer. i guess where wealthy millionaires and billionaires live with always attract owners who can pay the club.
  8. challenges from behind should not be allowed, its incredibly dangerous but i am not sure what could be done exactly. i thin any fan who does not realise the dangers with rash tackles wont appreciate it until they experience losing one of their own players. it could have been avoided, had the gillingham player not lunged for the ball.
  9. there are kangeroos on a scottish island if i remember right. never knew wallabies were in the uk.
  10. brilliant keeping from alex bass, he made a strong impression with his performance. he did very well, as did our defence.
  11. welcome to pon, @Jackie May.
  12. Coventry City 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday joker Watford 1-0 Middlesbrough Mansfield Town 3-1 Blackpool Rotherham United 0-1 Reading Accrington Stanley 2-2 Morecambe Swindon Town 1-0 Harrogate Town Eastleigh 0-1 Forest Green Rovers Halifax Town 2-1 Tamworth
  13. i am not being picky, because the result was great and i think we defended well. i just wished when we were under pressure we could take some more care as to where we lump the ball or try clear the threat. yesterday, a lot of it came back at us and it makes it difficult to get the ball down to counter. dont get me wrong, we did what we had to do. i am just saying that if we put a little more thought into it at times, we might be able to regain some of the control instead of inviting attacks straight back at us. i do agree that last season this would have ended differently, so it is a huge positive and i thought alex bass was great in goal for us.
  14. how often does a keeper get an assist from being in his own area? not only brilliant saves to keep a clean sheet, but a superb ball straight to jatta to score. alex bass gets my vote.
  15. i dont know what stuart maynard needs to do in order to win those moaners over, but he is doing a fantastic job and the players are clearly responding to him and the coaching. it was a fantastic win last night.
  16. it was a very good win for us against a team that improved as the game progressed, without those early goals it could have easily finished either way and the clean sheet is a big thing for alex bass. you can see what they mean to him and having a goalkeeper of his class and ambition, its great for us fans.
  17. i really hope notts can keep their good form at carlisle a win on the road would be a good boost, no doubt we will need to be at our best with the majority of the squad working hard to create openings. i am a bit more nervous this season about games like this though, as it could go either way and i know that.
  18. this is a brilliant opposition view, liam cole has put a lot of effort into these answers and it does make it a very good read. i am looking forward to going carlisle tomorrow, it should be a great game. thank liam for taking the time to answer the question.
  19. he will grow into the team, george abbott needed a full game under him to fully come into the squad and now he looks difficult to be dropped. so, i look forward to seeing more of josh martin. welcome to meadow lane, josh!
  20. yes, i am taking @TheSkipper and @Joshua. i need to pick lewis up from bostons train station as he will be heading down from manchester. i dont have much to report, work is still very casual and that is enjoyable because there are not many weeks when things are not all hands on. i am looking forward to going to carlisle, i booked the day off from work so that i could leave early. i dont usually book many of my holidays off, as i get extra pay for doing that but any games i cant make i am using the days on them.
  21. jacob bedeau gets my vote, he has impressed me a lot and i do love those quick balls he plays that releases david mcgoldrick. i think he has been very good during september but its tough.
  22. its all i have ever known, but i do wish more teams would do what luton did. i know its different to the original post, but it saves fans no end of money that could be invested into other areas of the club. personally i think away shirts should be worn away from home, otherwise there is little point in having two shirts.
  23. kellan gordon was allegedly rested due to having played in the efl cup game and said to have been rested for carlisle. if he is injured again, it would be disappointing as he looked good from the minutes he has been given. jatta might return to the bench tomorrow, he has been trying and before the morecambe on the radio it said that he was now training properly, not just on the grass with no heading involvement.
  24. well the club cant come out and say they dont know, they would want to have all the facts. whatever the media team might say, could only be used in negative peoples blame game. its big news, so they had to handle it well. the issue is those who want to act like they know everything. i am glad that people like chris wait for the facts, because it shows credibility. some of the people who repeated rumours might be innocent, as they may have been given false information but at the same time you just cant say anything. i do think its disrespectful towards jodi too.
