  1. we have the foundations of a promotion winning team, but we have to keep form and continue to turn games into 3 points, even when we are not playing all that well. its a slow race, that cant be rushed. if we can end this year in the top 3, i fancy our chances of we can slightly strengthen. i think any potential recruitment will be the difference of autos, or playoffs. if we keep in the pack, january could see us compete for the title but i do think our form needs to be better for that. just games like doncaster, a draw is decent but had we won it then it would be a big part in achieving more.
  2. the complaining comments are disappointing because what if one of the youngest see them? whilst you hope for a good performance, you have to welcome the opportunity for them to play and get minutes. its disappointing more about some of the reactions by a small minority of our fans. we did not show ourselves up, we went out on goal difference. the league is far more important at this stage. get ready for the meltdown that we dont play the youngsters or anything else someone will pipe up about. so pleased for cedwyn scott to have returned and score.
  3. well it was a mistake to allow it to be recorded, but it's even worse to say it. does anyone know or has seem anything about how it was leaked? its not good regardless.
  4. i feel i just repeat myself most of the time, my day to day life is routine and i feel boring for saying the same thing over and over. even if it's similar i feel it's mundane. work has picked up which is expected due to christmas, maintenance are in shut down mode. at 5pm i will be done for the day.
  5. great to see george abbott get the vote and earn his second man of the match here on pon! tho i do think many of the named players could have easily been voted for, i do think abbott amount stands out. i wished someone had voted for sam austin as all players would have had a vote that were named.
  6. it would be good if we could see him end this season on 18+ goals and in time break the triple digits. i think there is growth with him, hes a remarkable player and unlike some professional in the game. there is a reason why we have taken to him and its all due to his efforts.
  7. if he does well with gambia, then i would think more clubs would pay him attention and a new contract would give us some room for attracting better bids. i dont want us to fall into the macaulay langstaff issue of if hes going but i do think a new deal would be good for the reasons i have expressed. its great that hes been called up, its a major milestone in his career. i hope he goes and does well, but it does leave us a bit short. notts needs to allow him to choose and i hope he goes.
  8. remembering the fallen and brave, who helped keep the uk and the world free of such evil deserves a day and a few minutes to pay respect. its not much. lest we forget.
  9. is it the italian leagues where they have stricter rules about overseas players? i think the number should be a bit higher, maybe 10 like @menzinho mentioned. but i would like to see it broken down into age groups, so x players 16-20, then more 18-24. there is no concern about the quality of players coming through, but some youngsters are discarded after reaching a certain age and this is more common if their form is inconsistent. you can have the same happening to a big name, but the reputation tends to save them. i think having a focus on retaining players that are in age groups would give better young professionals a chance to establish themselves.
  10. only undefeated efl team, another great stat and fact to accompany all the previous ones we have gained. it shows how well notts is being ran right now.
  11. some people may not have seen the videos, so i see no harm in it. does the book offer anything new? i have seen a lot of hype about the book, but i dont want to buy it unless there is a point. if its a good read, then it will be money well spent.
  12. i thought the squad played really well and the media will be loving the goal jatta scored. the build up play was very impressive, its something our passing can do when we work at it. i am happy for jatta, but at the same time the love hes getting which is deserved overlooks some of the other players like alex bass, george abbott and jevani brown.
  13. i thought notts did very well in the first half, defensively we had to do what was needed nearer the end but doncaster did not look like they could get past alex bass. i dont think they did in the second half, but they played well at times. i feel we were somewhat unlucky, but a point is a good result. i do feel we should have won the game. if you look at their chances, they did have a fair amount but we allowed them back into the game.
  14. he wont be sacked, some other managers might but they have a manager who has a high reputation. i think their fans would rebel if they sacked him. i can see him more likely to leave in the future of his own free will, than to be sacked. poor results but they are still 2nd in the premier league. how on earth is forest 3rd?
  15. i thought jevani brown played very well and did some good defensive work, he played the role we expect from david mcgoldrick. its a shame he was not able to get some of his chances off as shots on goal but doncaster rovers did make it tight at the back.
  16. good point, i dont think doncaster deserved a point and in truth a stronger bench i think we would have won it. thought we did very well in spells and maybe should have tried less to push for a second. we got punished for it and although they did well, they really did not trouble us enough.
  17. Norwich City 1-0 Bristol City Portsmouth 0-0 Preston North End Exeter City 0-1 Charlton Athletic Stevenage 1-2 Reading joker Tranmere Rovers 2-2 Newport County Walsall 1-0 Crewe Alexandra Solihull Moors 2-1 Altrincham Southend United 0-0 Yeovil Town
  18. typical football fans and notts, to find something to complain about that needs not. its not like we're being labelled nottingham. i get some might prefer notts county to just notts, but what a waste of energy to complain and make a fuss.
  19. i hope he can get back to playing in the national league itself, a lower league two team might take interest in him. yet at the current level, he should be shinning and i am pleased he is.
  20. welcome to the pride of nottingham @Jonathan Raimondi.
  21. my only focus is to support pon and members by giving my thoughts, sometimes things natural go a bit slower and if I started a discussion which did not get many responses i would simply try to encourage it. failing that, i would try to highlight it in the content you might have missed. tony and i have been doing this for a few months, few people react but it does not make it less important.
  22. jevani brown gets my vote, thought he was class and is showing growth in our team sign his natural ability.
  23. it was a tough game, but we pushed for the goal and some of the other chances on a different day might have gone in. jatta's celebration was great to see, he controlled it very well.
  24. Derby County 1-0 Hull City joker Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Preston North End Cambridge United 2-1 Burton Albion Lincoln City 3-2 Stockport County Bradford City 1-3 Doncaster Rovers Newport County 2-0 Fleetwood Town Barnet 1-0 Rochdale Ebbsfleet United 0-1 Wealdstone
  25. @menzinho the referee missed a blatant penalty, with a barrow player pushing i think dan crowley off the ball in the area. i thought the one given was harsh, but it made up for missing the other. barrow were quite dirty at times, they played some good football but looked like they could be beaten had we got to grips with the game before the 60 minute mark.
