Should Notts Hold On To Their Footballing Principles?
this is how i see it, and i think @McPie sums it up well. the players coming in need to offer us something different if we need it, but more importantly they have to fit in with the style and identity of the club. some players wont make it, but the majority should and i dont think there is much needed to be changed. i think its more a case of slowly implementing the things we learn, as a way to iron out what does not work.

Are Two Strikers Better Than One?
i think it depends on the opposition and the type of form we are in when it comes to performances, if we always played two up top it would mean less bodies getting the ball into the creative areas and i think we benefitted from having just one up top against crawley. two up top worked well against tranmere, but it was at the cost of the midfield against gillingham. there has to be a reason why we struggled against a more physically aggressive team that is well organised and good at creating chances compared to the teams who are less confident on the ball. this is something martin paterson must establish the reasons for and tactically we have to remember starting our two best players in the striker department could at some stage leave us short. i think dennis being a doubt was a warning, but i am in favour of two strikers when it makes sense.

The Current Coaching Team – Stick or Twist?
i think we need to give martin paterson the season, much like we said to give stuart maynard his full campaign, but its a reminder that you have to give people a chance to show that they have improved. i wonder how maynard would be doing had he stayed, but i do think paterson would edge him in ability and most of the vital managerial stats. every departure leaves a transitional period, notts are one of those teams that struggles unless they are one of the best teams. it was easier for managers to come in when we were in the national league, as notts felt very much on the front foot in terms of seeking promotion even though we struggled a bit under ian burchnall. league two has so many teams capable of doing well, and even now some of the teams who started much better than us have slipped up at times. its a also a lot harder to predict because the teams and quality is much higher. i do hope we can get the most out of andy edwards, and i wonder if it was him who recommend some of the young loan players, rather than just roberto gaglardi.

Oh dear Forest
forest fans complaining about things this quick is quite funny, with the their chairman one minute something to be proud of to the next them wanting him out. to sacking the best manager they have had in decades. its all unravelling and its quite funny to watch those who only follow because of the success. i do feel sorry for the loyal and more rational minded fans.

Notts home attendances now exceeding Barcelona
it sounds worse for barcelona when you think the likes of gillingham can get more than 6k. 🤣 even if the ground barca are playing in, at least its going to factor in the away fans true attendance.

Tales From The Trenches.
it gives me shudders when i think of the conditions of war built trenches but to combined that with people going out and seeking dead bodies to eat. it just takes it to that extra level or eeriness.

Luke Williams - How do you manage
we have moved forward, i guess the club has different ideas and visions now at least at this stage. its like how we sign players, some might come back but most probably wont. if luke williams can gain more experience, i think that would make him stand out.

Fans Forum
i think it would be a good time for the club to work on its relations with the supporters, and lift morale going into what will be a crucial stage of the season. i wont be attending, i tend to find the forums to be overwhelming with sound and the best bits are usually the talking segments and answers to fan submitted questions which are always filtered through. it is good this is happening, and i hope the notts fans here that go enjoy it.

Fact of the day The Faroes
perhaps they are having a surge in talent, rather than focusing on the small pool of players which is interesting. its great to see a nation like faroa island doing well against nations such as france and switzerland who have more established youngsters.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
jayden luker looks like a brilliant addition to the squad, because it was him who did all the work to make tyrese hall shine. hall does not always look like he knows what to do with the ball, and at times just looks like hes is nothing all that special but luker really brought him into the game and then hall looked more confident. hall slipped back into the similar play shortly after his goal, but his second really did make a difference. i thought kelle roos did well, even that save he made after the offside decision was a commanding effort to make, that i think he might not have done so well in previous months. he looked a lot better, very calm and collected. scott robertson and matt palmer make a great duo, its a shame we cant see similar with ollie norburn but he gives us options but right now the paring of robbo and skip makes the most logical sense. jatta seems to have lost a bit of confidence on goal, he had some good efforts his finishing lacked but it was great to see him score.

The Tenth Game
i would like to see more games like yesterdays win over crawley town. notts does not have to score 4 goals week in and week out, but the play and movement was much better. we looked like a team which was enjoying their football, and even if the second half may not have seen 3 of them. i would have left happy winning 1-0, due to the level everyone put in. we sometimes dont see enough from the team together, and if more have off days, it puts pressure on others to shine. gillingham away saw us do this with trying to get jodi jones to unlock things, or for him to have shots away but if everyone is working to a similar level then i think things would be much easier. its weird how we can go from looking like we have never played together, to looking like serious promotion contenders. i think there are various reasons for this such as fitness, signings, change of head coach, etc. but i hope this is a sign that martin paterson is able to push the team forward and make us more consistent as a promotion contender. i was thinking the same thing, as yesterday did show that notts can attack a lot more fluidly than we have seen. crawley was not the best in picking up the ball, or moving it around but even with this said, notts played very well.

Who is your Man of the Match v Crawley?
it was nice to see lewis macari back in the team, he made a few mistakes but i thought he offered a lot when attacking. defensively it has always been a weakness for him, but i thought rod mcdonald did well alongside him and it was good to see mcdonald pumping the ball forward. i do also agree that jacob bedeau played much better, though quieter in attack, he did the basics and supported well. midfield was a real joy to watch, with matt palmer and scott robertson controlling everything. i thought conor grant had a quiet game, but did some neat stuff to win back the player and to get notts moving. robertson fully deserves the man of the match imo.

Boldmere St Michaels v Notts County Women
the graphics the women's media team puts out are much nicer this season. a narrow defeat is nothing to worry about, so i hope the team dont dwell on the result.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crawley Town (A)
i want to see more of rod mcdonald playing those long balls to break the back line, i felt disappointed he did not play one of them against gillingham as it could have pushed them further back. i dont think martin paterson sees how dangerous it can open up play at times when passing just is not working. gillingham liked throwing angle balls into our penalty box. notts needs to be a lot more focused against crawley because they will be a bit scrappy as per usual.

Which Early Retiree Would You Have Loved to See at Notts?
darren huckerby was one of my early football heroes, born in nottingham and had a stint with forest but one hell of a striker that could have stayed playing in england instead of going off to the us. he was not that injury prone to my knowledge, but did retire early. he would have been fantastic at notts. imagine him signing the munto season and teaming up with lee hughest, luke rodgers, karl hawley etc
