  1. it does seem like more fans are expecting notts to struggle, i feel unsure myself and nervous. i dont think we have to worry as much, just play our game and try to be the best that is possible. the main thing is to setup a lead for the away counter, or in the very least make it easier to go about.
  2. another american takeover, which i hope for the sake of colchester united that it is done with the clubs best interest and not a vanity project.
  3. you might say that we have overachieved the past two seasons, not being in a relegation battle but tipped for promotion is so much better. i think we spend our resources wisely and that shows when we have spells at the very top. i find it very hard to be dishearten by everything, especially those who want stuart maynard out. i just dont see the point of being so anti maynard when he has done a lot better than luke williams. i dont think williams would have wanted defenders this past summer, i think he would have wanted to focus on being top heavy in the attacking department. having the 12th highest budget, and finishing 6th looks a lot healthier.
  4. issue with jodi, hes still not quite ready, and starting him might be a big mistake. Only in the second half, did he look like his old self. It was quite apparent that he struggled, which is natural but he looked scared to be challenged, and even more so when he had the ball. maybe, he should be considered an impact sub? brought into the game around the 55th minute? i love jodi, we all do but he needs a little more man-management, and whilst being played should see him regain his confidence. he left, looking miserable after the doncaster game. For our sakes, but his, I just feel we need to start someone else ahead of him. david mcgoldrick being placed back is a bigger priority for me.
  5. pleased to see adam chicksen listed as a notts player here on pon, unlike the club itself. clearly hes on the way out, and its such a shame because he could fit our system quite well if stuart maynard could get the best out of him. i do agree he has flashes of brilliance and struggles, i think its confidence but i dont think we owe him anything. i also would not expect woking to sign him permanently knowing he has the injury. its unfortunate for chicksen, but i do wish him well and until his contract expires he is a notts player.
  6. he was not the worst manager, i do not get the hate towards neal ardley he stuck with notts during a point where nobody was being paid and he was a good person for helping place notts back on track. ian burchnall gets too much credit for the change in philosophy and recruitment which happened above his position. he did well to coach the team, but he was far from perfect. people said ardley would setup in hope for a draw, burchnall was worse because he would remove any hope of getting a point by bringing defenders at the cost of forwards and to do anything you needed changes at the other end. i do dislike the way he left, and his interviews because i thought he was quite dull and boring. as for saying fond things about his time here, its nice but we have moved on. he needs to let it be, as any credit of where notts are now from his time is very limited.
  7. hello, @DizzyBala. welcome to pon. i hope to see you joining in and having fun here. pleased you are a part of our community.
  8. rest in peace, pope francis.
  9. hello, @JDaykin. welcome to pon. thanks for taking the time to join us, i hope to see your thoughts on notts.
  10. its been a long season, but it does feel like it has flown by at the same time. i think reaching the playoffs should be classed as success, even tho we spent a lot of time in the autos. we shown that injuries could be managed, poor form was only temporary and the squad never gave up. now we have to be optimistic and get behind notts, as if we can create the right atmosphere it could give us more going into those last games. wembley bound i hope!
  11. they put a video out showing the worst decisions of the referee ahead of the game, how can a club get away with being this unprofessional? a manager or player cant bring the game into dispute but a club the size of real madrid can. its mad!!
  12. david mcgoldrick i thought performed the best in both halfs, conor grant was brilliant in the second but i think it was really between didzy and george abbott.
  13. i voted and i am surprised to learn i am the only one who did for that player.
  14. several cup finals here on for notts, i do like how we have not given up on automatics. i think the pressure of feeling like we were slipping led to some of the issues where we just did not get the results we thought or should have got. i have the feeling we wont know until the very last game where we will end up, if its autos or playoffs. i cant think of anything more notts than that. colchester, bradford and doncaster are the remaining games i see as being a challenge. salford, cheltenham, harrogate are games i feel quietly confident about. yet knowing notts we might be a bit hit and miss, still clinging near to the autos until the final game.
  15. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @NcfcWak. just as a pointer, i have linked you to two important forums. one where all the general notts talk gets posted and the other for match discussions and man of the match votes. https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/forum/9-jimmy-sirrel-stand/ https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/forum/10-match-talk/
  16. i think they are thinking ahead because they hope we can maintain the form to get promoted. the appointment sense to give him the chance to get familiar before the next window causes a rush in terms of talking to players. really the club could appoint anyone and i think the majority would do the role well because they will be following a solid blue print given to us by the reedtz. welcome to meadow lane, roberto gagliardi.
  17. it was a great team performance and mk dons had no answers to our attacking play, it was very good to see our replacements for dan crowley and aaron nemane showing how much stronger the club are without them. money well spent in my eyes, and will jarvis was outstanding.
  18. well done to charlie whitaker, time to extend his deal.
  19. Crawley Town 0-3 Peterborough United Lincoln City 1-1 Huddersfield Town Northampton Town 0-1 Rotherham United Crewe Alexandra 0-0 Grimsby Town Doncaster Rovers 1-2 Walsall jkr Harrogate Town 0-1 Tranmere Rovers Aldershot 0-0 Fylde Wealdstone 1-0 Boston United
  20. esc is the escape button to me, so i hope hes good. question is, how does @Piethagoram feel? i think sam slocombe might be retiring or at the very least moving on next season. i personally think hes good enough for the backup, but this would be the long term solution and could mean no need to focus on keepers in the summer.
  21. the opening goal from the free kick from reece james was class, i did not know he was capable of taking them or placing them so well into an area no keeper would be able to save. it was the perfect opening goal, and i think the performance was quite good. a couple of moments such as the near miss when jordan pickford called for the ball but the defender continued and it led to latvia shooting wide but acceptable.
  22. it really depends on how we start and how the opposition does themselves, but it is a must win game. i think notts has to be careful and its important to avoid playing like we did against salford. teams you feel notts should do better against often sees us struggle. i can see the game being similar to the morecambe game where its largely uneventful and even at the end of the game. i would hope its not a draw but i can see it, newport are never a simple team at their ground.
  23. he is a game changing player who could help lift scunthorpe back to the efl, when hes in form hes just on a different level and was always a joy to watch when he played for us. hopefully his injuries are lessening and he is managing to find this consistency through staying injury free.
  24. maybe they should have waited for him to get the axe? unless shrewsbury were desperate to avoid paying compo and let him go without a fee.
  25. people also try to make out that they dont have enough money and want to sell the club, when it seems the billionaire who joined them in the ownership of wrexham is just future proofing their ambitions of reaching the premier league.
