Weekly chat Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd June
afternoon everyone, @Piethagoram, @Robbie, @Fan of Big Tone. 👋🏻 i am currently on my break, usually i go to walk around in the city centre to find something to eat but with the warmth i have brought a pack launch. my work place provides a shaded area with benches for employees to sit and have breaks. i dont really use it but its quite nice hiding from the sun. its actually pretty nice out, just a bit too hot at times. work has been very busy, with deliveries coming in and having to sort out what is being exported or take out for deliveries. i love having a routine, but sometimes you have to change things just to make sure you dont melt or freeze depending on the weather. after works finished, i am tempted to go to one of those desert places for a treat. i hope everyone is okay and are keeping out of the heat, please remember to drink plenty.

if you had the money to get involved in owning a football club
you just inherited billions and decided to pour it into football but this is no ordinary investment, this is your dream team. how would you build your fantasy club? would you buy an established top flight side, take a punt on a lower league gem, or start fresh and form your own team from scratch? if creating your own club, what would you name it and would you lean into tradition or go bold and modern? would you rebrand an existing club with a new crest, kit, or even a redesigned stadium or respect its heritage? do you see yourself hands on in running the club day to day, or would you put a strong team of staff in place to handle operations while you steer from above? what steps would you take to win the fans over and leave a legacy that’s remembered for generations? how do you imagine all of this? if you had no budget limits, no boardroom politics and just a passion for football?

nations gold reserves
i watched a video youtube where it explained the top 10 countries with gold reserves, a method that has been the longest means of securing a countries future if there were to be a collapse in currencies. it explained that for exchange of gold, you were given a piece of paper that would guarantee the value of the gold that you had given. the earliest form of money made from paper, which i thought was pretty interesting. United States: Holds the largest gold reserves with 8,133 tonnes. Germany: Second largest holder with 3,352 tonnes. Italy: Holds 2,452 tonnes. France: Has 2,437 tonnes. Russia: Has 2,332 tonnes. the video also mentioned how canada has sold all of its reserve in favour of investing in infrastructure and businesses that bring in money for them. does it make sense to you to horde gold, so that if the financial system collapsed there is still something of value or do we live in an age where it makes no sense to stock so much gold? i thought this would be an interesting, but different type of discussion. its scary to think if something happens, the most valuable things would be gold, food and water.

Map of the day
it does make you wonder if we can unearth creatures unknown who like the deepest depths of our seas and lakes etc. i watch a video where some fisherman in japan had caught some bizarre looking fish which turned out to be rare.

Weather Updates
amidst a heat wave, please make sure you are well hydrated and can take some shade. it sounds like we have some very hot days coming.

Jayden Richardson
if you have two good centre backs, he should be fine because his best attributes is attacking teams. he can do well in that area, but he can be inconsistent. i think he went to aberdeen with another ex notts player who we sold to them cal roberts. i think it was aberdeen, because i bumped into one of their fans in a service station when notts played carlsle in our first season back in the efl and he was not that impressed with either players.

Pre-season friendlies: Darmstadt, Kaiserslautern, Stuttgarter Kickers
i hope we can take a good amount of fans, as it will be a nice trip and day out for our supporters. it was great to see the photos taken the last time we went to play in germany.
-
do you think jatta will be sold?
i suppose, we did that with aaron nemane but with jatta it would have to be a lot of money.
-
do you think jatta will be sold?
i am not trying to spread any of the rumours, but i am curious as to if people think jatta might end up being sold before this season gets underway? there has been comments on social media that doncaster are interested, others have said plymouth are still interested. notts would have learned that selling the main goal scorer surely costs the club with its ambitions and would try to hold onto him? i dont think we have a ready replacement, mai traore still looked like he needs time and matthew dennis does not look like someone who will be pushed to be our main striker. im not trying to worry anyone, i just think it would be interesting to see thoughts on this?

Congratulations Alassana Jatta & David McGoldrick
very pleased for notts, as this shows two of our players had great seasons even if one has departed. well done to didzy and jatta. they really do deserve this.

Weekly chat Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd June
work all finished, treated my self to fish and chips on the way home. the house needed to air out from the heat, but its really nice sitting on my phone in the back.

Welcome to Notts Academy: Nimesh Patel.
i think it sounds like great news, name a notts fan who does not want to see academy players reach their potential or help us to move forward up the leagues? we need to try harder to get homegrown players into our team.

Notts reunion holiday snaps
great photo of 3 ex notts players, two who really did give their all and one unfortunate to get injured.

Could it be
@Piethagoram, would being paid composition for being sacked really prevent luke williams from being hired? or is the wait connected to notts? i guess swansea could have made some sort of restriction to stop him coming straight back, but i dont see a club preventing a manager from finding a new team just because they fired him. its a curious situation but i dont buy it myself.

U19 international Germany 5 England 5
they did really well to get back into the game after going down by 5, seeing them pull them back with goal gave a real sense of achievement and it could have almost been fully overturned from the poor start.
-
Finally a quality retro shirt release
i like it, not sure i would buy one but i think its a good replica. i bet fans who watched notts in the 90s will be flocking to get one. bonus points to the fans who have the original shirt. 😁

Could it be
is that not one of those accounts that spit out random rumours in the hope that some stick, but very rarely do they ever. @ARLukomski can we trust this?

“Positive Energy and Passion”: Ollie Norburn Explains Why He Chose Notts
the lower down you are, the more you have to way up if you sign players who are injury prone or go for upcoming younger players. since we do need experience and someone to take command of the midfield i think this is a good signing and i agree that there is plenty of cover in midfield. if he does well and gets injured, we might miss him but the worst case is that he does not make any impact. it seems more beneficial to take him on and i think the deal reflects the worries.
-
Where are they now : Will Patching
@Robbie, probably both club and player deciding that the national league is not for him and carlisle might be hoping to return to the efl at their first try. i think will really does need to settle, but if he signed for an irish team. i think he will find it harder to claim up the english leagues. hes at the age where he needs to be a clubs main midfielder, but he is not. i do think hes a good player.

Doggerland, North Sea origins
probably german, as our shore lines played a big part in keeping hitler away from us and only attacking by air.
-
Maziar Kuhyar signs from Kiddy
i think sometimes players like this can surprise, when they fit in a good hard working squad. i understand your view point and i get what you are saying, its all very fair but i do think teams make mistakes when they try to sign players like mk dons have done in recent years. gillingham signed well last season and it took them time, carlisle is another team. maybe we are trying to add some graft and hard workers to our ranks?
-
Notts County Secure Afghanistan International Maziar Kouhyar on One-Year Deal
we have given him a step up, he did well last season and i think our squad is strong enough to bring out the best in others, so i think he will be a very good signing. there is limited risks with free signings, all we can hope is he plays a role in our achievements and hits the ground running.
-
Maziar Kuhyar signs from Kiddy
he looks to be a very interesting signing, i hope he manages to net over 10 goals for us in his first season. i dont really care if he was released or had rejected an offer from his previous club, all i care about is notts doing well.
-
Notts County Secure Signing of Veteran Midfielder Oliver Norburn
keep him fit, i am sure he will make a good impact in the team. introducing players who are creative and demonstrate a good level of leadership will help when we have those crucial games where we are playing matches were we might struggle with performance or just getting the result needed. i am very happy with the signing.
