David McGoldrick, New Contract or Not?
if david mcgoldrick feels he can still perform to the level we have seen this season, and notts adds more quality around him and take into consideration there is a need for someone like him to fill in when he cant play, then i am all for giving him a new one year deal. last season i would not have said this, but he has earned it with how much he has self driven notts to wins.

Do Notts Have Automatic Promotion In Their Own Hands?
i am starting to think every bad spell notts has it sucks the hope of finishing in the automatics, and then we go on a good run and it renews that hope. i dont think we are consistent enough, i believe notts has the depth and quality but it comes down to wanting to win. pushing for goals and defending well, not losing control of matches and generally struggling to convert chances that are created. right now i think playoffs is more likely, but i am worried that if we persist with this form we may just end up slipping out of them too.

Junior Morias recalled.
i am a little annoyed by it, why do we keep recalling him and never giving junior morias a proper chance. i almost expect him to be sent out on loan in a few days time, just as we start to think he has a chance. imagine being morias with how notts have prevented him from playing, and basically signed a player to not actually play much at all. i really do hope he gets a chance. its very odd behaviour by notts.

well done george abbott, pleased to see he earned the votes from us fans.

Charlie Whitaker...New contract or not?
i think he looks a good prospect and can improve further, but its down to notts to make sure we get the most out of him. i would give him a longer deal, we cant expect all young players to be consistent but he does work hard. we need to push that and get the best charlie whitaker can be.

Maynard left exposed?
to be fair, we looked in a good place when the january transfer window wrapped up. i think its always a setback when you lose staff and coaches who work so closely with the setup and whilst i think the saunders can easily be replaced i dont think the club should have rushed to appoint joao alves but its not his fault. he will be the easy target for why stuart maynard might not have the support or experience by his hand and in a way, i think the club has made a decision which is more negative to a manager learning efl football in only what would be his second season (which is not even a full second term). clubs dont like to admit when they are wrong, but they should look at giving maynard the best possible assistant. i am sure alves will make the grade one day, but we need someone who can advise maynard when he needs it like in times like this. there was rumours yesterday that neil warnock might be approached in some form of support role, but i think thats people who put 2+2 together and come up with 5. i think we need to stick together and help secure a few back to back wins, as that would be the biggest boost to morale.

Who is your Man of the Match v Chesterfield?
david mcgoldrick, all of our smart play came through his creativity and drive to get notts into scoring oppatunities. he did some great passes, and made it hard for chesterfield.

Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
notts should have made the second half count and there was moments i felt we could but we just lacked that cutting edge on goal. bringing conor grant on was a good decision, and i can see why he does not always start because he can fade in and out. he made a good impact and i dont think the side is struggling due to injuries, more because they are not putting attacking practices into the play. i thought barrow did well to sit back, but play when the opportunity came. you can see that they are a good league team but we had every chance to turn the game around and we just failed. i left feeling frustrated but with the game in hand, plus the results going in our favour. i think winning a few games back to back would help, but we need to start taking the chances we get because the results in other games wont always go our way. just a bit more urgency at times and better movement seems enough to give us a bit more opportunity to create something more clean cut.

i like the changes to limit guests and i hope it encourages people to be more involved, it just takes people to read, comment and get to know members or if they choose to remain private they can but the site is a great community. we are much better off without politics.

Who is your Man of the Match v Barrow?
if we had two jacob bedeaus i think we would be unstoppable and for me, he was the man of the match. as nice as it was to see lewis macari back, he is not quite back to his best,

Matt Palmer: The Hidden Cost of Being Consistent
to be honest, i think matt palmer tends to be overlooked simply because of how good he is. how quiet he can be is also something which hinders him from being noticed because fans will notice those who are taking bolder actions. its why alex bass can have a superb game, but its only those matches where he stops a team from winning or drawing that gets him voted as the man of the match. i think we can take some players for granted and palmer is one of them. we were lost last season without him, hes such an important part and i dont think being named as the man of the match is everything. you want players to do their role and do it well, which palmer does but its an interesting question.

MK Dons coach leaves
maybe he found something that worked well enough to get crawley town promotion once, but does not have the ability to do it the same? he might not be a bad coach, but he might not be good enough to sort mk dons into a team that wins games. they have good players, so it could be that he works best with less talented or ones who are more able to be encouraged his way? i dont think hes the best coach, but by far the worst. just an average league two manager imo.

West Brom finances
they are one of the teams who continue to compete back and fourth with being in the premier league, i wonder how much their financial issues are as a result to this.

Match Discussion: Game 34 - The Fishermen (A)
first half was a very good 45 minutes, but even though i think notts could have put the game to bed then. i do think its sometimes how games go and their pitch is one of the worst i have seen this season. i thought it was good how it did not make us sluggish, but i could see them growing in strength and the disappointing thing is allowing them to claw themselves back into the game and then to losing in a game we should never have been in that situation. fleetwood played some good football, but i think we were a lot more lively and looked the better team. we just struggled to adapt to how fleetwood changed things in the second half, and some of our own players did not ask enough questions.

Swindon Town finances
are they still in trouble with their owners? italian owned? not investing into the club? i know they seemed to do a fair bit of business at the start of this season but i have lost track of where they are in terms of financial issues.

George Abbott interview
even if george abbott does not make it with spurs, i think he will attract interest and still end up as a very good premier league player even if he has to play in the championship for some time. hes a class player, and i hope his time here helps him to establish himself in the tottenham team.

If we donβt win promotionβ¦β¦.
budget and the squad is two things, and is not always equal to the success but i do think that a lot of fans do have unhealthy or unrealistic expectations. some of it seems right considering the squad we have, other bits makes me unhappy with how some make themselves seem like notts have earned promotion without playing a single game. i think notts should stick with stuart maynard, provided we are moving in the right direction. he can learn a lot and the only thing which would make me reconsider is if we were to plummet and show no signs of being a good team. i do think the football is much better under maynard, he has struggled with injuries and tactical decisions of his own but at this level hes perfectly fine. sacking maynard without proper reason could undo what he and previous managers have done. if we dont get promoted, fine. if we end up in the playoffs it can be a lottery and i think we have seen under the reedtz that the club continues to move forward.

Notts Announce the Notts County Supporters Committee.
i think it could be a good thing but it depends how serious notts are about it and if they can get the right people to take the seats. i think there are more reasons why this can fail, than there are to succeed. if the club find the right person to lead the meetings and it actually focuses on notts, us fans and does not become about what those groups involved can get or the benefits of being close to the club it could be good for notts. i am just of the mindset that most will want something and not all give up their time just to be useful. some will, most probably not.

New rule change for goalkeepers next season
yes, these changes are more practical suggestions instead of what usually get put into place. how long did kicking the ball away last before refs stopped issuing yellow cards? i think refs made that more frustrating than it needed to be but in principle players should be carded if they use it to time waste. i am not sure how 8 seconds is all that better to prevent keepers, i mean officials are meant to add time on.
