  1. i know he signed for alfreton but i agree with the comment in the post, he never seems to settle or play long for a club. in the friendly against us, he was a very good player and was their biggest spark i felt. it does just seem a bit strange that hes off out on loan so soon.
  2. i dont know what it is or how to explain it. i have noticed that it does make a difference, i cant say i know a lot about the mental side of football. its a strange one because most teams are able and there are times when notts has the confidence to perform well for 90 minutes but attacking does tend to be better when its towards the support the team have. maybe we need to try to be louder and more encouraging throughout the games even when its tough or boring? i am not saying newport was boring.
  3. i have to agree that iorpenda looked very comfortable, i felt a bit nervous with him being on the team sheet as a starter but i thought he went about the first half with a lot of intent. the foul he drew, i think might have been given if he did not drop to the floor like a championship player. it got a lot of fans backs up near me towards the referee but i think if he drawn more contact and went down naturally i do think it would have been given as a foul. he worked very hard in a lot of the attacking play which was brilliant to see. thought him and matt palmer did a lot of work to encourage us to attack positively.
  4. you have set a very high standard to maintain @magpiejue, as someone who had led previous prediction leagues dont let it go to your head and dont over think results. just keep guessing with your head and heart. well done everyone.
  5. matt palmer is where my vote went, it was nice to see him covering so much of the pitch and i thought his corners were a lot better. its just a shame we are a bit static at attacking arial balls but i think jatta would have made the most of them.
  6. referee seemed poor, but we should have won the game. i thought he was not going to give the penalty but award a free kick, but he made that correct decision. i would like to know why they managed to keep all 11 players on the pitch, despite some dangerous challenges? 18 fouls i think and only one yellow card. i felt most of the things were positive, but did feel frustrated to leave not having tested them much in the second half.
  7. i wonder if four four two will ever rebrand the more unpopular 4-4-2 becomes in foootball. they should call it formations and have done with it. 🤣
  8. he might not feature much for afc wimbledon but its a good move, its one step away from the championship and if he does well enough then he will have proved they were right for signing him. he could have came here and not done much, so i think its a good move for him.
  9. its not looking good, i hope they manage to fix the issues but having all this over them will make playing football difficult. i wish their fans all the best.
  10. not in my life time. if there is any hope it will be in thousands and thousands of years time, we are only just scratching the service of space exploration. travelling fast enough to make it to a new planet, settle down and learn from the lessons of earth is going to take a lot. i dont think by 100 years we will have made much more progress than we have now, all the data that will be obtained will be from robots etc.
  11. very pleased with how martin paterson has approached the season, i think he makes some good points and i am happy with how he is leading the players. some managers get ahead of themselves and whilst i do think paterson is sending messages to us fans. they are encouraging and focused, which seems to be much like his vision as the head coach.
  12. welcome @Chedozie, i hope you find the site to be fun and engaging. it would be great to see you tell us a bit about yourself too.
  13. i do hope that fans will give him a chance and see that the role could get the most out of him. we know he can create goals, so taking him from an area where he needs to do more to get the momentum going forward at the risk of being clattered or brought down, into a more creative area could play off. i did like how he moved to the left and right flanks at times during the cardiff game. against teams where jodi is above their level, he should thrive because i felt he gave a good account against cardiff.
  14. good interview, i like what martin paterson said. there are two things to take from it from my perspective. the more we mention promotion, the higher the expectations will be and that could come at the cost of pressure. at the same time, knowing that paterson has that winning mentality it could be the formula we need to get the most out of the players. i guess it will depend on how we handle set backs, and if the players take on board the driving words that mp expects from his squad.
  15. i do think its bad that so many teams are having these types of problems and it shows more needed to be done earlier, hopefully with the independent regulator and other means it will help but until those are in place. some teams will struggle, i do think we need to make sure clubs are safely owned by overseas investors and that smaller clubs have better ways of dealing with their finances even at non league level.
  16. i think notts will finish 7th. we had everything in place within our first season back in league two, the promotion, fans atmosphere and togetherness quickly lost. i think this season we have more pressure because of the 'promotion' target, and i do think we are capable of doing better than what i am predicting. i do think that its going to be tough, but i do think martin paterson will win fans over regardless of where we finish. gillingham might be in the autos, along with salford and mk dons. i think the leagues first place will be between them. chesterfield and grimsby look good enough for the playoffs. both bromley and barnet i think will struggle. i know people are expecting accrington and newport, but i think they will be fine.
  17. some idiot at work set of the fire alarm and it was not deactivated in time, so spray came flushing out in areas and that has meant it needs to be cleaned up. as a result, most of the staff have been asked to go home myself included because it means a deep cleaning is required and that stops us from handling the pallets which need to be sent out. things like this can delay everything for 2-3 days, its why we have scheduled maintenance and cleaning times. if its captured on cctv that person is going to be fired for sure. 🤷‍♂️ @Fan of Big Tone, my house has wooden floors which i like. it does take some care to make sure the wood is good but its well worth it. i have been thinking about getting a carpet in my bedroom, as it does get cold and i am think a nice carpet would be good. are you getting fancy underlay? some of the more premium stuff does keep the carpet nicely spongy. at my mums she has a nice thick carpet and that tringled type underlay which softens the feeling between the floor boards.
  18. it does make me wonder why we extended the renewals for a second year running, and still managed to reach over 6k. i guess it could be the cost of living, but either way 6k is great to see. meadow lane should easily reach 10k on saturday home game and should be quite high midweek. i hope this starts to pay off with the coffers and sustainability the club is seeking.
  19. i dont think anyone will live forever, unless self healing is something that happens to the evolution and even then it seems unlikely. it reminds me of the film where robin williams plays a robot that lives beyond his master, and marries into the family in the future as he chases being more human like.
  20. its nonsense to complain about it because it just brings awareness to the issue and clubs and players will still want more money. its the way football is, i do agree it will come back as an excuse.
  21. Bradford City 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers Doncaster Rovers 0-1 Exeter City Lincoln City 0-2 Reading Plymouth Argyle 1-3 Barnsley jkr Barnet 2-1 Fleetwood Town Cambridge United 0-0 Cheltenham Town Grimsby Town 2-1 Crawley Town Walsall 3-1 Swindon Town
  22. its going to be interesting to see how martin paterson lines up his first team and how they will adjust from pre season into competitive games. i hope we are defensively solid and avoid making any errors from backward passing. it would be good to see us having a more direct attacking presences.
  23. i wished we listed the players in their positions such as centre backs, wingers, centre midfield, attacking midfield and forward. yes players can play anywhere but it gives us a better idea where they are seen as being best played. it also looks nicer.
  24. whatever you do @Alex make sure that its what you want and prepare for some setbacks potentially. if you will be relying on public transport, this is a must but i am sure you will have a good time.
  25. i understand the concern but i cant say i ever felt concerned enough to think something serious was going off or wrong at the club. the media team can do a lot to keep us informed but if they dont have much to put out, why stress? yes, they could put things out during the quieter weeks but i am sure they had plenty of things to do. i am not concerned about the signings, i think the club has earned faith in this department. signing free players and those who are on loan, just seems sensible business. i think once the season is firmly underway, i hope we can look back and laugh this off.
