  1. thanks for all the well wishes. not really, but getting there. some days i could mistaken the uk for iceland or somewhere more gloomy and chilly. i dont think the coldness helps. i wished it would be where i am. its duller than brighton during storm season.
  2. Hull City 2-2 Stoke City Millwall 0-1 QPR Leyton Orient 1-3 Stockport County joker Reading 1-1 Bolton Wanderers AFC Wimbledon 1-2 Bradford City Newport County 1-0 Barrow Braintree Town 0-0 Hartlepool United Wealdstone 0-1 Solihull Moors
  3. why did they not do something about it when they froze his money due to the war against ukraine?
  4. jodi jones can play as a striker, he did for coventry city, and as an attacking central midfielder. with the quality we have out wide, i would be tempted to see if it can help settle jodi back in further. we might be forgetting that will jarvis could play as a striker, so we do have some cover but as i think jodi becomes a different player once he scores. i would consider him as an option. we have nick tsaroulla and kellan gordon who could come in for jones if he was to put up top. i am sure there might be other options if we really need it but i do agree, that its risky relying on someone who might be considered out of position.
  5. its going to be an interesting trip to gillingham, they are a good team at this level and their season is no doubt has not gone to plan but they have some very good players. i think they invested in their team coming into this season, so i am not sure why they are struggle so much. they remind me a bit of what doncaster have been like previous seasons.
  6. welcome to pon @piedestrian, hope to see you get involved and join our discussions on notts.
  7. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @Charlie_ncfc. come share your thoughts and get to know the community here, we'd love to see your thoughts.
  8. poor start but especially bad defending from kyle cameron. barrow should have started by getting the ball out wide, rather than passing back and cameron might not have been expecting it but he should have done much better.
  9. welcome to pon @TFP. thanks for joining us.
  10. well i dont read much into rumours and any fan with common sense would not get overly excited about what goes round the rumour mill. it is important that we keep jatta for the season, and i also agree that players are best sold if they wont renew. i sometimes wonder if notts would have gotten more for dan crowley had he gone with arron nemane.
  11. i think there is a real danger with some around my age and younger, who create rumours like this most likely to see who believes them but also to get money from it. i tend not to trust anything that has not gained or earned my trust. its obviously fake news, i dont know why some are wishing its true. his wages would be a problem for us, he left forest because they could not agree on it. why would he accept lower here? a championship club may, but we wont and cant afford him.
  12. it sounds like dagenham does not want to pay his wages whilst hes injured, as i think we have had stronger cases for recalling him before now. i hope junior morias recovers well and gets a better chance to showcase his skill with us.
  13. i am just happy we dug deep enough to seal the win and keep a clean sheet, what @menzinho has wrote is a very fair reflection and i know fans want to see the team consistently play well but football is not always pretty. carlisle did not really cause us any trouble, it was similar to the game at their ground but that is down to how they play as a team. i would be more disappointed as one of their fans because of how notts did not play to their usual game or ability. its points gained for us, it helps morale and is a boost for chasing promotion. its a massive missed opportunity for them, so take the pluses.
  14. george abbott gets my vote! i dont care if we won ugly, fans always say they would rather win but some just moan regardless. it irritates me because a win is a win, if we played well and lost the same fans would be complaining. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  15. his importance to the squad is not something i would play down, i think he is far more of an asset than ryan yates [despite both being good players]. george abbott is a solid loan signing, and he should go far but its great to see him taking his chance here. for 19, he has a solid head on his shoulder and plays wiser than his experience would suggest.
  16. yes this is a great idea @Robbie, thank you so much for sharing it. its a very detailed topic and i had forgotten just how many clubs had folded. some of which have been efl clubs for as long as i can remember. its nice to see bury have kept the same club badge too.
  17. i have caught a sick fever bug, but still working through it. i tried to take sunday to recover so i could make sure i did not miss work, i think it has helped but i still feel very rough. i hope other people on here are doing well.
  18. i know we won at their ground and that it was a good result, but i hope the game plays out better. the second half performance was zero attacking threat and it would be disappointing not to put in a display good enough in both halfs. i hope fans dont boo cedwyn scott. i do also hope we can keep him and carlisle quiet. at home it should be a different game and they have strengthened a lot since. just do what needs to be done but we need to stop being afraid to have shots from distant.
  19. good luck to him because he has a good chance to really create a strong career if he can take this opportunity. its a move i did not think would happen, but if he stayed here most likely he would have missed out on the chance as i doubt we would have pushed him enough to gain the experience needed. proud of the academy, but it does leave disappointment in notts for missing out on ways to look after talent.
  20. i thought jack hincy put in his best notts performance and looked good throughout, otherwise i would have gone for jatta.
  21. the main thing is maintaining form and turning those games which look like defeats into wins, and draws into 3 points. so far i think we have probably done better than expected. we have sold a lot of what has made us on the front foot and then the injuries does impact. if notts are to gain promotion, we need to have that spirit of where we can win ugly and draw games against the better teams. its a building game when you are a club like us and progress can only be measured in the steps the club takes to reserve their league status.
  22. its better we are making something than always losing, players come here and improve. typically all we have known is them being linked with a club, but instead of using the money to strengthen you would see those players released. missing out on a transfer fee for the likes of kyle wootton, ruben rodrigues etc its disappointing. selling players can be disappointing to but at least we can use the funds to improve. moneyball was thrown around when we first got took over by the reedtz, to some degree we need to make use of it.
  23. i think there are a lot of fair points, but we could flip most and say that stuart maynard has done them well at times. i do agree, we need to avoid playing players to the point of injury. like managing david mcgoldrick better, but then i think we have seen maynard get the best out of most players. nick tsaroulla is one player i would like to see being pushed a bit more. and a lot of managers are not the best at making changes in game, not at this level.
  24. i think we can move on from both players and i thank them, but really despite the fact i would have kept martin. will javis sounds to be more impressive. its just a case of wishing both players all the best. jevani brown could have been used more, martins might have secured a first team place but they are not notts players now.
  25. brilliant blog @allardyces tash. πŸ‘πŸ» i dont think most of the notts drama is caused from performances or on the pitch, more from fans and rumours which is why i dont really like seeing them being spread without valid cause. your blog is very funny. "If he genuinely believes MK Dons, a club with all the rich history of a microwaved lasagna". πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ€£
