A Stuart Maynard Notts Team? A Tactical Analysis.
liampie replied to Robbie's topic in Jimmy Sirrel Stand
its going to be interesting to see if stuart maynard does make any changes, because his style has been spoken about as being similar which made him seem the most logical replacement for luke williams. he might opt for something a bit different with our players, as each squad is different and have strengths in different areas but i do think its unlikely that he will change much.- 34 replies

The weekend is here! Fri 19th - Sun 21st
liampie replied to Fan of Big Tone's topic in Granny Pie's General Discussion
woke up noticed the game had been called off, went back to bed. it was quite cold when i woke up and i just could not bother with anything so i had a lazy day. tomorrow i need to fetch my mums shopping and take it over before asda closes. then i will stay for dinner, until late evening and back home i go. -
today its just been a bit cold and breezy but nothing like it has been. the weather forecast sometimes just scaremongers because they people read negative things, if we do get hit by a bad storm, i really hope people stay safe.

good results for morecambe and crewe, those two fixtures stand out the most to me. gillingham should have done better against forest green.
-
i dont think for a second notts would not want the game to go ahead, our ground staff would have tried their best and the decision is down to the officials. i am more disappointed by the reactions on the official clubs facebook page. its been called off, accept it and dont seek blame.

good appointment! most fans seem to be excited, there will always be a few vocal people who need some sort of reassurance and hopefully the early signs will be positive under stuart maynard. i prefer to think of the positive side, but even if i tried to find things that was not i would struggle. its just a very sensible decision which now relies on the players to take on board the new regime and try their best to get the results we need. if we can push on, those negative voices will drop off.

Notts County Women: Next Match v Sutton Coldfield

a win would be a boost for them, i think its coming and if they work hard at creating chances i hope they can celebrate a win. home games are important. -
New appointments for Notts County Women & Girls.
liampie replied to Robbie's topic in Notts County Women
good appointments for the womens team. -
he changed their game against us and i thought they played well but as a manager you cant call the players and expect their morale to lift especially when they are not performing that well. very poor decision to hire troy deeney in the first place. they remind me of us under the trews and hardy.
-
it takes moments like this to make changes, i just hope we dont see too many teams fold as there are a lot struggling and it could only get worse before finally something is done. i feel for the fans.

it shows you need to have deep pockets to own a club at this level too, but i have faith and appreciation for our owners. we are heading in the right way and it seems the club is keen to maximise the amount of money they make. i still think we should be marketing stuff to our overseas friends. at least we are too high in excess running costs.
-
i like how they have not taken the defeat as a knock but are focused on winning, one narrow goal deciding the outcome is not bad.

the club will ensure the frost covers stay on whilst they warm up known areas, we have good ground staff that are good at handling this. mansfield wanted their weekend free, they called it off way too early but if the game does get postponed it will be done to protect both sets of players. for that i cant complain, i just hope they decide early enough not to waste peoples time. if we pass this check with good opinions on the service being playable. i think we should check at 12:30 again, then see how its doing. if things are still good, great. if it has become worse just save everyones time and call it off.

i like kyle cameron and i hope he finds good form under stuart maynard, i think he just needs to priories defending a bit more but the focus is the main thing. hes also right that we need to defend better as a team, i would love to see us have a desire to win the ball back as quickly as possible and go on to use it well. notts will be fine, i know it.

i am all the more excited about saturday, whilst we can not read too much into it, it will just be interesting to see what stuart maynard will do with the lineup and if anything will change. it will be brave to make a lot of changes to the tactics, but then our squad should be robust enough to cope with a new way or system.
-
its pleasing and i hope we can now just focus on a achieving the best position that is possible. stuart maynard sounds like a decent appointment and for a club of our size, it's nice to avoid the trap of hiring someone that has the reputation but maybe not heart for a lower tier team. i think maynard will repay our decision to give him a chance at this level.

Colossus , the Bletchley Park computer
liampie replied to Piethagoram's topic in Granny Pie's General Discussion
i watched the film with benedict cumberbatch where he portrayed alan turing in the the imitation game. we have a lot to be thankful for with the computer and alan turing. the war could have turned out a lot different and ultimately it proved to be a game changer, this and churchills relentless desire to fight for our freedom. -
i am surprised tbh, i would have thought it would be a big problem.
-
when they showed the images of this on the news i could not even see what they were talking about. i can only see it when you highlight the ring, so no wonder we have been missing it for decades. its actually quite a cool discovery.

its going to be just as tough as it was at their ground, i think any good results would be a massive boost. i would also say a point would be a decent out come, obviously i hope for more but the main thing is to come away undefeated. stockport will fancy their chances and i can see them being harder as the game starts, i hope we can grow into the game.

no, i would not know how to do anything worth sharing.

awesome goal, i am surprised the player was given the time to connect to the ball but something like that is difficult. i think its one of the best goals i have seen in any highlights.
