  1. nottingham born @Piethagoram, a forest academy product. he did well for mansfield too when he was loaned to them. i dont know much about his time at wealdstone or what happened after.
  2. i have not watched much wrestling for awhile, i used to watch the attitude era on dvds when i was younger. i was not very much into the ruthless aggression era. it felt a bit forced and some of the wrestlers being pushed just had nothing about them. admittedly i also disliked the chav cena, it got him over but his persona after that was much better.
  3. how the hand ball was not noticed does seem very corrupt, as does the disallowed goal that was scored to make the game 3-1. the player was caught in the motion of being turned those things happen and unless it was done on purpose which i dont think this was leaves a bit of a bitter taste in the poor decisions. it seems they rely too much on var instead of watching the game. otherwise the referee and officials are just incompetent.
  4. the wage was probably a good living for them, but i do sometimes wonder what they would make of the fees spent today. if you could drag one from the past today, would they be bitter like steve cherry is on facebook or would they have felt they were worth it? those old boots where something to wear i imagine, let alone the leather pigs bladder.
  5. cal roberts was a special talent, unfortunately less after he kept getting injured but jodi jones is built of different stuff. he bounced back well and it might be unfair to compare roberts but i think jones has a natural desire to do well. he has a hunger which sometimes looks unhealthy but thankfully for us its that which often makes him a winnder.
  6. side note @Piethagoram i would love to see more of your photography either in the pon gallery for members or the magpies media. you have a eye for a great picture!
  7. it looks amazing, i wonder how long it took them to create and build it. i bet all the parts made it difficult too. the stadium roofs are not part of normal sets at least not what i have seen.
  8. for a player of that era he looks young and less like a gentleman which is just an observation. a lot of players looked like they did not get dirty on a saturday afternoon. this is a great part of our history.
  9. his height and pace should be of a huge benefit, the way he debut for norwich he did not really need to rely on those attributes. everything was from clever and tight marker, dealing with the threats before they became a problem. very pleased, i wish him well too.
  10. well done everyone, hope for some drama at the top end soon. it could be anyone from 1st to 8th realistically. we cant write those off who are lower.
  11. i think it was @Piethagoram who shared the video of jaden warners debut. it was a very good performance from him and i am a little surprised they are not going to back him by allowing him to play more in their own first team. i mean i get not rushing things but that debut gave him something to build on from for them. its really our gain, i just hope he plays and does well for us.
  12. its great to see him given a deal, i thought he had signed a professional deal before he made his debut but i am pleasantly surprised to learn this was not the case. it makes his debut a bit more special and no doubt james sanderson has worked hard to earn this. i am very pleased for him, well done james!
  13. i cant place barry davies accent, he sounds like an australian trying talk like a posh englishman. first goal was unlucky, second with the penalty quite clumsy.
  14. whatever the reason hes going to regret making the decision and if there is any real justice he will pay with time. its a silly thing to do.
  15. its good to see brits doing well in sports, @Robbie you are better than watching the news. it cuts out the negatives and scaremongering that the news shows.
  16. dead parrot was very funny and because of @super_ram having shared the monty python sketch of the dead parrot in the past, i know the reference. i really liked father ted and my hero.
  17. i have seen a few episodes and i do think its interesting. mostly the aspect of people playing off each other and how this is making people either suspect the wrong person as a traitor or a traitor fooling others that they are a faithful. it reminds me of the game among us.
  18. i never liked football growing up, i was not sporty and i hated loud noises. i have spoken about how i got a free ticket from school and my father took me, since that game i have been loving notts. finding pon as a teen it helped bring me more involved and i have no interest in other clubs. when i first joined twitter, it could have put me off from following notts if it was not for finding pon. the family feel of the site and how supportive members were helped. @GrannyPie would be pleased to see it continuing. @Fozzy considering what united have become, i do not blame you. they are quite embarrassing how backwards they have gone and throw money in wasted efforts to do what is needed to be the club we all know. i dont think much will change until someone fixes all that is happening in the background and getting their fans back on board 100%.
  19. good luck to him, i hope he does well for colchester. i do think hes a better player than what they are so he should but it all depends on his effort.
  20. maybe this is the next drama for itv? you could not make it up!
  21. i am not critising luke williams but perhaps he reached a point where the focus was a bit more attacking minded than defending to the point something neded to change to bring back that balance? i am hoping stuart maynard identifies the lapse in our defending and can bring a better standard out. we have good players, who can defend.
  22. this is a great clip but since reading the gaffers comments, i cant stop thinking about the referees sideburns. those are something to behold since he has nothing on top.
  23. i still get out on my bike around wollaton and beeston, sometimes i cycle to clifton too. i have not done this much with it being colder, i rely on driving to further away places but i try to keep active in the exercise department.
  24. it gives stuart maynard and his coaching team more time, i am not too fussed. i am more bothered by the complaints directed at the club because i dont think for a second we would choose to not want to play a game or mess our own fans around. we will lose money in the gates due to this, something we would not want. focus now must be on preparing for next saturday.
  25. mair almost did not score but managed to get the ball under control. a bit scrappy and poor defending from norwich. the second goal for us again showed persistence in a scrappy situation.
