  1. lets not underestimate sutton, we know they can do well against teams even if they are very inconsistent and are in poor form. they ruined our start of the season with their thrashing, so if there is any fight in the squad i hope to see it tonight. if we can get the points it would massively help stuart maynard, but anything else wont exactly benefit him. i am very nervous because portions of our fans will be vocal and its unknown if they will get more to be in the same voice. i hope we can just sing and encourage the lads, whatever is at fault for the downfall in form it was never really a maynard issue to begin with.
  2. potential replacement for if they lose paul mullin? its a good signing but marriott has been heading in this direction which takes some of the hype tint of it. he should fit in well with wrexham and i think he will do well.
  3. Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Norwich City Cardiff City 0-1 Stoke City Barnsley 1-2 Derby County Blackpool 3-1 Bolton Wanderers joker Accrington Stanley 0-0 Crawley Town Barrow 1-2 Bradford City Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0 Halifax Town Southend United 0-1 Aldershot
  4. the usual for me, i will be at meadow lane tomorrow. no plans for after the game as of now, but i might go call by my dads to see what hes doing. sunday will be the usual routine of fetching shopping for my mum, then wait for sunday before going back home to beeston. i am glad to have two days off from work. a little time to relax and kick back.
  5. if we can work hard and ensure that we are trying to create chances in all areas of the pitch, i think no matter what shape we or crewe play it should be an entertaining game at meadow lane. notts need the result a bit more than crewe, they have picked up and are in some good form. they will fancy their chances, as will we.
  6. i think scott robertson is settling into the role and personally i think hes a decent player, once he has been around our camp long enough i am sure we will see more from him but i also have to point out how honest he is about himself. he knows there is room for improvement, hes focused as a team and all these things are good to see in a player of his age.
  7. how we would do if we did gain promotion is debatable, i think our better creative players like jodi jones, dan crowley and aaron nemane would get more time on the ball. we would have to strengthen and mostly in the defence. yet this is a situation to be discussed later on. right now we are not looking like strong candidates to finish the playoffs, we need to pick up a few more wins but i do believe we can achieve it. saturday will be a big test for notts, if we can get a good result there it could help massively and of course teams are dropping points like flies. others are becoming more stronger and are showing good form, we need to do the same.
  8. i bet over the years you have put much more than you have won in it, and i think that is amazing from fans who support the life line scheme. its something i wished i could get involved with but the spaces are never their and its restricted to a set amount if i am correct.
  9. america make football seem weird, the fireworks and the lack of reaction from the crowd. the goal was a good passing move, was it special? no. you would expect those players to do that all day long. there is a hype machine with certain situations and this is the prime example.
  10. @Wheelbarrow repair man that could be the stumbling point. a quick google search and i found this, i am amazed that is this much per stadium. obviously this might not apply so much to this discussion, but the cost of £250k for hawk eye cameras might prove to be a stumbling point. could it be cheaper? possibly but i dont know if there are rules about who can and cant install the system. what standard of equipment is used. personally i think it should start with league two if this were to happen. the efl could use sponsorship money or some of the league right fees to fund it. in addition to clubs paying a certain amount towards it.
  11. i am not the biggest fan of pancakes either, i dont make them myself even though i could. i prefer to eat healthier things, when i was younger i would have them with sugar but i dont think its something that i enjoyed as much as i would with other food. its a traditional thing which i understand, but i would rather make a cup cake.
  12. why is the accrington chairman getting involved with other clubs when its non of his business? hes the first to complain about others outside of stanley making comments on them. hes becoming quite an annoying figure, yes sometimes he makes sense but the days where he was interesting and insightful have long lived out their days with him being on social media. 4m is not a lot for a club at this level, maybe crawley will recoup some of their losses eventually?
  13. when we start to see more notts players in the team of the week, it will show only positive signs. i am very pleased for jodi jones, as he does deserve to be in it.
  14. good player, i remember him ripping was it walsall a part whilst he was here? his career seems never to have lived up to his potential which is sad.
  15. some days its quite nice in spells but the sun never lasts for long, it either starts to rain or becomes gloomy. i think before we see many nicer days, we will just be hit with heat waves. its been a harsh winter, very cold and i am just hoping it warms up.
  16. no wonder i have never heard of him, was he signed as cover? one a appearance is not a lot of games to play.
  17. i love this, a single magpie which looks similar to ours on a ball. it must be a nod to use from @Dry Nelson Ray.
  18. this is a great picture! something you would not believe and maybe only seen in an aminated film from disney. great photo. what happened to the camera man?
  19. we have free ports? it does not seem to make much sense. surely its better to have a fair import tax rather than free ones. i might be missing all the information but it sounds like something which needs to be stopped.
  20. i remember when pon first started in the early 2010s. it was one of those historic parts of our history that made me happy to know about.
  21. i really hope the hype does not draw negativity if he does not start well, its reminding me of when we signed danny haynes and izale mcleod. i am sure he will do just fine but there is so much hype and i am not sure its always a good thing.
  22. i remember when we drew to them 1-1, then they demolished us at thier ground in the fa cup. man city was not a big team in the 90s, but its still interesting to learn about.
  23. welcome to the pride of nottingham @TruroPieSi. it would be great to learn more about yourself.
  24. i like that stuart maynard is not underestimating crewe, but even if they do mix their playing style within the game it shows how important our own game management can be. if we cant adapt well, we will lose the ground that we have created and most of it is all about pressure and creating chances. we have a very good squad, even if our budget is not in the top 10 of league two. we have to be smart when making decisions in game. im very much looking forward to seeing notts on saturday at meadow lane.
  25. well you would want players like mentioned in this discussion, over loans which never seemed to be given the chance i.e ollie tipton. we have no idea if he could have been a useful signing but because he did not play much and with luke williams never seeming to give him a chance it makes it rather a pointless signing. i think loans should only be explored in areas where signing a permanent player might not give us further strength in that position. i would rather see a good loan signing be made, than for the club to sign someone who clearly sits on the bench or out of the match day squad completely.
