kellan gordon should do great to cover jodi jones, yes we will miss jodi but we can allow him to focus on his recovery and when he does return i do think he will be like a new signing. i know that tends to be a cliche, but this is jodi jones we are talking about. hes going to come back determined and hopefully pick up scoring and assisting where he left, but i think keeping the players fit, rotating when possible will be a beneficial thing for notts.

very interesting comments, i have not watched a darren moore interview but have seen clips of him talking and he does seem to really but his heart into what he says. yet to see him managing in league two seems a bit strange, when he has done well much higher up. port vale seem to be a good side, so it will come down to who wants it the most tomorrow.

i like kellan gordon, i think he can cover whilst jodi jones is out and he could become a player that is a vital part of what makes stuart maynards side work as a first team member. he does work hard and i like the ability he has to do different types of crosses, its not just hit in or try to curve it, sometimes he puts in crosses which are consistently begging to be taken. i find what he says to be very humble, i am glad hes back amongst his family.

port vale seem to be in decent form, undefeated in their last 5, with 3 wins and 2 draws. currently 7th in the league but i dont know much about them as a team since we have spent so long in the national league.

brilliant keeping from alex bass, he made a strong impression with his performance. he did very well, as did our defence.

i am not being picky, because the result was great and i think we defended well. i just wished when we were under pressure we could take some more care as to where we lump the ball or try clear the threat. yesterday, a lot of it came back at us and it makes it difficult to get the ball down to counter. dont get me wrong, we did what we had to do. i am just saying that if we put a little more thought into it at times, we might be able to regain some of the control instead of inviting attacks straight back at us. i do agree that last season this would have ended differently, so it is a huge positive and i thought alex bass was great in goal for us.

i dont know what stuart maynard needs to do in order to win those moaners over, but he is doing a fantastic job and the players are clearly responding to him and the coaching. it was a fantastic win last night.

it was a very good win for us against a team that improved as the game progressed, without those early goals it could have easily finished either way and the clean sheet is a big thing for alex bass. you can see what they mean to him and having a goalkeeper of his class and ambition, its great for us fans.

i really hope notts can keep their good form at carlisle a win on the road would be a good boost, no doubt we will need to be at our best with the majority of the squad working hard to create openings. i am a bit more nervous this season about games like this though, as it could go either way and i know that.

its all i have ever known, but i do wish more teams would do what luton did. i know its different to the original post, but it saves fans no end of money that could be invested into other areas of the club. personally i think away shirts should be worn away from home, otherwise there is little point in having two shirts.

kellan gordon was allegedly rested due to having played in the efl cup game and said to have been rested for carlisle. if he is injured again, it would be disappointing as he looked good from the minutes he has been given. jatta might return to the bench tomorrow, he has been trying and before the morecambe on the radio it said that he was now training properly, not just on the grass with no heading involvement.

i feel sorry for jodi jones, but at least he has the right attitude and his desire to do well should see him come back stronger. i think hes right about the challenge, but referees are not strong enough to protect attacking players. its very annoying, i hope he gets to have some down time with his family during this injury.

i think we know we need to be brighter and work as a team not just in defence, i am hoping we can work stronger at how we move the ball so that players dont tire chasing after attacks which are unlikely to mount to something. we need to make sure we have multiple passing options moving forward just so that we dont focus to much on passing back. the game is winnable, but we would need to be much better than we were against morecambe, if we can play as we did against them in the 70th minute mark but for longer against carlisle we might just do that.

had we played more like we did from the 70th minute mark, but sooner we would have won the game but the lads digged deep to win the point. morecambe made it hard, the first half especially and we had some good chances. i think george abbott should have scored his chance, but hes young and will get a goal if he continues to work as hard as he is. i thought stuart maynard the right chances, maybe we needed one or two sooner but thats easy in hindsight.

its a little disappointing that it took us so long to get to grips with the game, but morecambe do deserve credit. they made it hard, but we made it harder on ourselves. i think we really need to work on moving the ball forward, where supporting players try to make space. we play far better with the ball on the ground until in a position where a cross can come in.

i do think the club is making notts somewhere good players want to be, we seem less of a stepping stone or retirement home and more somewhere players can get their chances to impress. jacob bedeau looks a very good capture already.

its going to be a good game, i hope notts can retain the ball well and make real use of it. morecambe have some good players themselves at this level, so despite their form i do think notts needs to manage the game.

i have faith not only in this squad to continue to impress and fight for promotion, but also stuart maynard. he has done well, we were unlucky to lose to gillingham. it was mostly out of our control, so if we can step up and work hard to secure a win it would be a good boost.

respectful comments by jacob bedeau about morecambe, going back to your former club can be a blessing but it can also be negative with the way things are going. i would hope their fans give him and dan crowley a good reception and dont take their current situation out on them.

the short term deal sounds like he is arriving only as a cover, but i suppose it sees how he will do in our system and could always be extended. i am not suggesting the deal is bad due to length, so we will have to wait and see how he does in our team.

i wonder how many it attracted and if it was anywhere near as busy as it normally would be for certain events. was this the same day as the aj fight? that might have helped boost the crowd.

david mcgoldrick will be starting up top then, i think it means we need to save jevani brown for any attacking cover, instead of him coming on for someone else and then we have nobody to fill that gap. yes we can change how the team is playing on the pitch, but if we have a defensive player coming on and someone else gets nudged up, it would be better if that player was saved. i think morecambe will be a difficult team to play, but i think if we play as a team and focus on the chances we should do well.

it sounds like morecambe are having ownership problems which could be the worst outcome for them with the way the seasons progressing, i wish them well. we have been here before, where owners have no idea and literally split the fan base in half. leading to the club falling to the wrong end of league two. its a shame to see this happening to morecambe.

i think the efl trophy is a great time to include young players, it gives us fans something to actually be encouraged by because i dont find the competition has ever really been taken seriously. i think notts does, but from the fans perspective it could be a lot better. i am please kameron muir got to come on and has become our youngest player, as i say, it gives you something to be invested with.
