  1. well it is different but i know who would win if i had to choose. heres my nominations.... newpie @Sir Magpie @Callumpie and @Robbie__64. member @Ohh Tommy Johnson @menzinho @ARLukomski. team @TheSkipper @CliftonMagpie @Burnz3r0 and @Chris
  2. absolutely, i remember seeing videos of random people just giving those in videos labelled Karen's hugs. It seemed effective, because clearly something related. i know some people just like to bark, but nothing beats genuine human kindness.
  3. very big move for him, i liked him as a player and thought he did well for us. only issue is the way he was used. he should have been played outright as a striker. good luck to him.
  4. i have seen a few rugby games with my dad on the tv, when england are playing and their whole setup is so simply executed that it barely impacts the game. the application of it in football is a farce, if something needs checking - do it. a lot of the issue for me is the incompetence of officials and the people operating it. im glad it has not expanded into the efl because many of the changes made this season force the games to drag on when its supposed to enable the game to flow. var could be a useful system to assist human error but its current application is not practical.
  5. before my time too. i have watched videos on youtube and i remember the notts county film that the old media team put out that mentioned it. i do like reading about peoples experiences and memories of games tho, as it tells you so much more about the clubs history. i would welcome it back.
  6. Hull City 2-1 Sunderland Watford 1-0 Bristol City Exeter City 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers Fleetwood Town 1-1 Carlisle United Barrow 0-2 Stockport County joker Bradford City 1-1 Morecambe Altrincham 0-0 Halifax Town Southend United 2-1 Barnet
  7. far better performance and something to be happy with, stockport are a good team and we played a decent game. its a shame we could not get anything from the game. i felt a bit frustrated by the way we gave the second goal, not so much cameron but tobi losing the ball rather clumsy.
  8. we are playing better, a bit more thought needs to go into our decisions on goal but its good to see macaulay langstaff more involved with the ball. it gives him so much more to do. despite the better performance, the goal we allowed to go in was a major switching off moment and its disappointing. i am pleased with how we have responded since though.
  9. this signing was a masterstroke and he very much fired us to the football league, with such a talented squad behind him but without his goals some of the games may have been different. i was not sure we would be able to replace kyle wootton, i felt very disappointed he left but macaulay langstaff and cedwyn scott have been such a breath of fresh air. i do hope to see them partner each other on the field a lot more once cedwyn is injury free.
  10. having seen macaualay langstaffs interview i feel a bit more encouraged, he works so effortlessly and does not give up. we need to get back to playing in a way that turns the opposition defence inside out. i would love to see us perform well, slowing the passes down just enough to give us the edge. if the players work as hard as langstaff there is no reason why we cant. some stockport fans feel anxious about playing us, so it should be a great game.
  11. i really love how luke williams thinks about things and his whole approach to management, he thinks everything through like a real leader does and quite fairly he holds his own hands up. i think he has done very well to guide us to 6th place and i just hope we can spark our exciting form to maintain this. what williams says is very true!
  12. my dad would love this, well he would but at the same time he would find plenty to moan about. i might try to get it. sorted! thanks amazon, next day delivery. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Terrible-Maps-stupidly-illustrated-geography/dp/0008641595/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1CO3ZYJJ2ZU38&keywords=Terrible+map&qid=1703255264&sprefix=terrible+map%2Caps%2C116&sr=8-1 also picked this one up. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brilliant-Maps-Atlas-Curious-Minds/dp/1846276632/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1CO3ZYJJ2ZU38&keywords=Terrible+map&qid=1703255264&sprefix=terrible+map%2Caps%2C116&sr=8-2
  13. hello @Robbie__64, its great to see you are joining in. welcome to pon.
  14. we have seen a lot of improvements from macaulay langstaff, i remember reading the tweets and comments on social media where some fans did not believe he was good enough. i dont think it was ever a question but we need to get back to being creative and relentless with our attacks because macca thrives on that and then it creates a buzz.
  15. i have no recommendations or players in mind, i just know we need to add a bit more cover and depth. the players that may sign need to be of first team quality.
  16. to be fair, that pitch is shocking compared todays standard. i think we tend to over water the meadow lane pitch too, i am not making excuses but i do not think it helps.
  17. he should turn this into a sitcom, i would watch neil warnock act.
  18. good to see some of the top moments of 2023, going back to last season. lets push on and just try to overcome this wobble.
  19. Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Watford Plymouth Argyle 1-0 Birmingham City Carlisle United 2-1 Cheltenham Town Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Port Vale Accrington Stanley 1-0 Walsall Grimsby Town 2-0 Harrogate Town joker Halifax Town 0-1 Rochdale Oldham Athletic 1-1 Gateshead
  20. i have noticed that the praise from our own media team has stopped because of the moaning. its a shame because its nice to see players praised rightly. i thought harrogate looked a good team. they must be a bit hit and miss to be in their position but hopefully with a new keeper they can push on.
  21. the whole idea needs to jog on, leave football alone. there are enough changes which are ruining the enjoyment without this.
  22. this is a great thing, i wonder how many ex footballers have been this selfless to start a charity that benefits others instead of their own greed.
  23. he needs to quarantine for two weeks at least, but at least hes free. i felt disappointed and i dont really care, my dad says its his final straw with forest. i think he will support notts more now. him and my uncle liked steve cooper, they were amazed by what he achieved and had started coming to more notts games due to the friendliness between our two clubs at that point.
  24. gavin strachan...
