  1. i think the changes bring focus on where we need to try to add more discussions, but its all very positive and is a nice overhaul of the layout.
  2. i think this is who we are after and i think the reason its taking longer to appoint someone is because we are looking to hire someone who is currently already hired. compensation is probably the main reason reason, as i feel the reedtz will have already compiled a list of managers well before luke williams had left. if we are going outside of this, i still quite like gary rowett as i think he would do well with our squad.
  3. i think it shows that people dont feel tiernan brooks is ready enough to handle being our regular keeper, which seems a bit of a kick in the teeth. if this signing does not end up playing much, it will be disappointing. i dont feel we needed to bring in a keeper but i am glad for the competition. i just feel we should try brooks before, as i still feel sam slocombe and aidan stone are more than good enough despite the mistakes.
  4. was this the season neil warnock was sacked? can any of those who were watching at the time explain why we did not give him longer? it seems he introduced a lot of upcoming talent to our squad and i know we had some great players waiting to get their chances. the first goal from phil turner? it was a lovely strike.
  5. great goals from an era i wished i could have witnessed, hopefully notts can get further up the leagues so i can see them playing at this level or at least championship teams. brian kilcline gave me shades of jim o'brien with how he ran away with the ball.
  6. @Piethagoram i read one time when @Chris or @Joe Jones [i forget if it was before jj left] posted about this as an on this day, someone mentioned that it caused iain mcculloch to retire earlier and how he was not the same after. a few others seemed to suggest that it was done on purpose, but looking at the video it does seem accidental. some of those saying it was done on purpose suggested the keeper that fouled him was known for his aggressive play. it looked like a freak accident that should have seen the united keeper red carded.
  7. @Fozzy i like how cedwyn scott presses so much and how frequently he wins the ball back from attacking positions, he forces mistakes which seems so unnatural for a striker. i know macaulay langstaff is similar but he is more pressure in terms of kicking the ball away. these two would make a great duo which i dont think we have seen enough off since they signed for us from gateshead. i think our form away from home would improve if we had them both starting, yet again i am mindful just like matty palmer that we dont rush him back into action. i am sure he will start when ready.
  8. lovely goal! its funny how footballers seemed to almost walk with the ball even when sprinting back then. i love the clips like this and what the youtube channel notts goals i think is uploads.
  9. happy new year to you all, i am sorry i missed this. 10 days in, it feels more like months to me.
  10. it strikes a bit of difference when football in turkey is suspended due to a referee being assaulted compared to this. what happened to adam johnson is very saddening and will have caused much of the results that the panthers have experienced. i dont know if they carried on or not, i am not so much into hockey but i do think they should have been given time away if they have not. with this suggesting the amount of games it makes me believe that not enough time was given. its very sad.
  11. yes, i have watched the first episode now. i think the internet has changed so much since this happened that its a lot harder for things to stay hidden if enough people kick up a fuss. with social media especially, i know some of the interviews victims have given in the news, they thank the public and itv for the drama. its just very sad to see how people who are to blame for this to happen are getting away with less repercussions.
  12. he was walking in november and looking like he was able to do so without fuss, training is different and so is playing but its all positive signs. i dont feel we need to rush him, allow him to make a return when he is 100% better. pre season for the 24/25 season makes sense provided that doesn't put strain on him. i would rather us give him longer to make sure hes completely fine once he does return to action. players of ours in the past have been rushed and we always regret it, the reedtz understand that players need time and have given their managers chance to bring in replacements. all very positive stuff.
  13. i have every faith in the squad and jim, we have the blue print as he says and we know what it takes to win games. i just hope we are not nervous on the field and that whoever is in the dug out keeps giving instructions throughout the game as it does help bring attention to concerns. its a very good interview, i love how hes fully behind notts.
  14. i think giving him a start would be a good idea, just to help him settle in further. i mean we dont have to give anyone a rest because of the break we have had but it would be good to see how he slots into the team. i think new signings should generally play when possible, otherwise it just because a concern to fans like we had with ollie tipton and lewis macari where people think he wont be good enough. also due to the fact it helps new players settle better imo when they kick straight on.
  15. Burton Albion 2-2 Wycombe Wanderers Exeter City 0-1 Carlisle United Bradford City 2-1 Crawley Town joker Salford City v1-0 Forest Green Rovers Swindon Town 3-1 Colchester United Altrincham 0-2 Barnet Dorking Wanderers 0-0 Oldham Athletic Southend United 0-1 Halifax Town
  16. i am disappointed not in notts or luke williams, just in the fact we have lost a very good person early on into his managerial career at notts. the reasons for leaving i understand and i wish luke williams all the best. i hope whoever comes in next gives us fans the respect we deserve and we dont go back to someone who does not see the importance we play or the community. i am very hopeful we can just continue to move forward together.
  17. @Fozzy i was going to ask if it was about the drama that stars toby jones? i have been meaning to give it a watch but i dont remember what channel its on. i read that it was based on a true story but knew nothing about it before that.
  18. i am moping around my home right now, i will be coming off my computer in favour of trying to watch tv. its quite cold out and i cant be bothered to drive anywhere. with no football and the weather i lack the motivation to tempt myself out. tomorrow i will be picking my mum up, then driving to my aunt and uncles but otherwise its a no thrill weekend without football.
  19. https://www.wokingfc.co.uk/news/article/8438/dion-kelly-evans-signs/ i agree with @Chris, dion seems to be unable to fight for his place in teams. i wish him well as i like him but his career is all over the place at the moment and i just feel hes one or two clubs from falling deeper down into insecurity.
  20. it would have been nice if the govenment gave everyone a break who live on less than a fair living income. the way they target disabled people makes me feel sick, elderly people too. i was worried that winter would be difficult this past year for people due to the energy costs.
  21. he never impressed, it might be unfair to say he seemed poor because it could very well be that he needed further game time but i would not have signed him. i dont think he felt league two was beneath him but i do think his time here will see him show more desire to continue his career. i fully expect him to sign for a league one club now. maybe a team like charlton or burton.
  22. they could temporarily open up a water park. the flooding is terrible tho, i hope its not caused them too much damage. for a small club its hard to pick up from disasters like this if you are unfortunate to experience damage.
  23. i hope we go back to a 4-4-2, but have a manager that can command a switch in formation to suite how the game is progressing. i think this would be the best of both worlds picking up from previous managers. it would also give us a bit of movement with the injuries we have as we are very restricted playing the 5-4-1 formation. it does not allow us to change much with the wing backs. going to a 4-4-2 would give adam chicksen and richard brindley their strongest positions back. aaron nemane, jodi jones will also be able to play their usual attacking focused game with less pressure to drop deep.
  24. @Piethagoram i was like who is that at first but i have listened to two interviews from him, one from a tour and this. i think he speaks well but would he come to us for a chance to gain first team managerial experience? i am not so sure.
  25. very prone to silly mistakes throughout his united career, great shot stopper and for relaxes but lack confidence to with their defence and would fall a part. just to balance things. keepers are nothing without a reliable defence in front of them, its a two way street. neither can work well without each other stepping up but its harder for a keeper when teams are having a higher amount of one on one chances.
