  1. ha! no day off for them. i think we need to just accept that the game was postponed and that its good that we have hit the training ground. its not a day off for the coaches and staff, its preparation and will hopefully help.
  2. its what football is about is it not? a call to showcase your ability and to earth gems from beneath your level. i sometimes think media groups can be insulting towards coaches and players, because of their previous level. stuart maynard looks to have a lot of people backing him to be a success and i hope it helps.
  3. manchester united was not quite the dominant force they had become in the 90s right? great result. it probably played part in clubs tracking tommy johnson too.
  4. i do a mix of things to find content, but the articles put out by @Chris and the fan written features are very good. i think we do need to encourage ourselves to spend our time on site more productively and at times step out of the normal browsing habits. that way you can find new experiences. i am really excited by how the community is coming along, as you have said its the pon family but it includes you too.
  5. the video could have been cut to the final minute and the message would be the same without the scaremongering part. i do get that some people need that though, they need to be awoken. the biggest threat to us out side of global warming is how dumb some people are getting. the woke brigade and the cancel culture, common sense becoming less and less.
  6. every game is important so i dont read too much into what looks like a difficult run, i try to take games by game and i hope stuart maynard shares a similar approach. we are good enough to secure our place in the playoffs, maybe even push for the automatics. all worrying about big games does is bring in doubt.
  7. ultimately its how patient will the board be and understanding of their decision because its them that will make the call. the fans need to give him time, swansea city was always going to be difficult of a step up but they are in good hands.
  8. not long until kick off, i hope the womens team pick up a win. i think a win would give them a lot of confidence to start getting the results needed.
  9. this is great news, i hope stuart maynard manages to find a way for james sanderson to get game time so that he can get up to the pace of the senior players. i hope other youth players manage to get a chance to add depth to our squad. sanderson looks to have a very bright future with us.
  10. its going to be interesting to see if stuart maynard does make any changes, because his style has been spoken about as being similar which made him seem the most logical replacement for luke williams. he might opt for something a bit different with our players, as each squad is different and have strengths in different areas but i do think its unlikely that he will change much.
  11. woke up noticed the game had been called off, went back to bed. it was quite cold when i woke up and i just could not bother with anything so i had a lazy day. tomorrow i need to fetch my mums shopping and take it over before asda closes. then i will stay for dinner, until late evening and back home i go.
  12. today its just been a bit cold and breezy but nothing like it has been. the weather forecast sometimes just scaremongers because they people read negative things, if we do get hit by a bad storm, i really hope people stay safe.
  13. good results for morecambe and crewe, those two fixtures stand out the most to me. gillingham should have done better against forest green.
  14. i dont think for a second notts would not want the game to go ahead, our ground staff would have tried their best and the decision is down to the officials. i am more disappointed by the reactions on the official clubs facebook page. its been called off, accept it and dont seek blame.
  15. good appointment! most fans seem to be excited, there will always be a few vocal people who need some sort of reassurance and hopefully the early signs will be positive under stuart maynard. i prefer to think of the positive side, but even if i tried to find things that was not i would struggle. its just a very sensible decision which now relies on the players to take on board the new regime and try their best to get the results we need. if we can push on, those negative voices will drop off.
  16. a win would be a boost for them, i think its coming and if they work hard at creating chances i hope they can celebrate a win. home games are important.
  17. good appointments for the womens team.
  18. he changed their game against us and i thought they played well but as a manager you cant call the players and expect their morale to lift especially when they are not performing that well. very poor decision to hire troy deeney in the first place. they remind me of us under the trews and hardy.
  19. it takes moments like this to make changes, i just hope we dont see too many teams fold as there are a lot struggling and it could only get worse before finally something is done. i feel for the fans.
  20. it shows you need to have deep pockets to own a club at this level too, but i have faith and appreciation for our owners. we are heading in the right way and it seems the club is keen to maximise the amount of money they make. i still think we should be marketing stuff to our overseas friends. at least we are too high in excess running costs.
  21. i like how they have not taken the defeat as a knock but are focused on winning, one narrow goal deciding the outcome is not bad.
  22. the club will ensure the frost covers stay on whilst they warm up known areas, we have good ground staff that are good at handling this. mansfield wanted their weekend free, they called it off way too early but if the game does get postponed it will be done to protect both sets of players. for that i cant complain, i just hope they decide early enough not to waste peoples time. if we pass this check with good opinions on the service being playable. i think we should check at 12:30 again, then see how its doing. if things are still good, great. if it has become worse just save everyones time and call it off.
  23. jim can relax and focus on returning to his playing role but i am thankful for what he and the two helping hands from weal and the other coach. they did us proud. as for the comments here, i think it shows how sensible jim o brien is.
  24. i like kyle cameron and i hope he finds good form under stuart maynard, i think he just needs to priories defending a bit more but the focus is the main thing. hes also right that we need to defend better as a team, i would love to see us have a desire to win the ball back as quickly as possible and go on to use it well. notts will be fine, i know it.
  25. i am all the more excited about saturday, whilst we can not read too much into it, it will just be interesting to see what stuart maynard will do with the lineup and if anything will change. it will be brave to make a lot of changes to the tactics, but then our squad should be robust enough to cope with a new way or system.
