I have now written a brief introductory article about football up to the time of Notts formation in 1862 and will continue with more:-i.e. The formation of the F.A. and Football League and come up to date with, hopefully, interesting and informative articles. I enjoy reading about the history, players, and ups and downs of other clubs. I hope other site member do also and will add their own comments to give us all a better insight into football's rich history. Notts-Joe has asked me to write up about the history of football, not just relating to Notts County.

Article - Read Here

I know quite a bit about Derby County, and I'm still learning more ,even at my age. I know a fair bit about football in general, including other clubs and I look forward to reading other people views. Your thoughts?

I think a series which included past events, flicking onward but always moving forward would be enjoyable. I think if you covered on other events as you mentioned in the past will be beneficial, it will all help and I do think some fans will relate to stories about Derby. I don't think it must be about us all the time, though a mention would obviously be something the audience/readers will obviously rate too. I've been looking forward to reading them, I don't feel you should be put off either but take time eventually I think they'll be very popular.

Sure, the community especially will appreciate your efforts. It helps me :)

The fact that I'm a Rams fan on a predominantly Notts focused fan site was one reason I was reluctant to initially join in more on this site. Also I wasn't sure how much interest there would be for any articles that I may write.(I,m still unsure)

As I've said many times before though, I do really enjoy reading about members memories and experiences.

Things like the Notts/Juventus connection are common knowledge on this site but not so well known elsewhere. I hope more stories like this will come to light as my series progresses.Other fan input will be greatly appreciated.

Post world war always fascinated me, however I eagerly anticipate to see where you go with such writing. Excellent Idea, I agree with Tony's comments. Well Written

Thanks upthepies. My intention is to gradually come up to date but with a general over view for a certain timespan. I will however be doing the occasional article on certain topics,  certain matches  and a few players etc. If any questions arise from the articles I'll do my best  to expand.

Of course as I come more up to date I hope members will come on here with their own memories or stories told to them.

I think it was a good read, interesting to see what you write about next. Is there going to be a series of articles from you about this sort of thing?

It was nice to read something about the history of clubs, not just the current news and information.

Thanks Vicky, glad you enjoyed.

This series I'm doing will last for quite some time as there are a lot of subjects that will come up. As I've explained elsewhere, players, certain matches and events, etc.I'm hoping members will add to what I write with any additional bits of information they may have.
