Does anyone remember this scoreboard. There used to be a man in there with lots of numbers and you had to look in the programme to see which matches A, B, C etc were. At half time he put numbers in the corresponding windows to show the scores up and down the country.

He always used to tease us when putting up the Fword score, if he had a 3 in his hand he would go to put in one side or the other and then back again, so we didn't know whether they had scored 3 or had 3 scored against them. Obviously if they were losing a big cheer would go up or groan if winning.

Always used to make me laugh.

I had to go down town today, so I took advantage of being there and had a nice walk to Meadow Lane. We've got our tickets sorted, so this will defiantly be Ellie's first visit to an away game (despite now telling me she isn't going). I think the fact Kate won't be coming, it makes her a little nervous but if Jake can be fine around new people I know Ellie can.

Not only is Jake excited, I am. I think this will be the game to give the players a good sending off, which I'm sure Coventry will also be but hopefully if Doncaster gain promotion we'll see them become inspired.

With the football from the previous game (Colchester) I think there's much more to be positive about, the fact the majority of fans wanted to see youngsters included and we have seen it work, hopefully Doncaster can be another game where we can see some of our other players establish themselves as League One players, don't get me wrong the odd game doesn't make a player but it's the ultimate boost. Nangle will be full of confidence and I hope we cheer them all on, even the players who some feel haven't been giving 100%.

The game will very much go down to control and determination in my opinion, I think they'll come at us and try to hit us hard. Possible, aiming to make vulnerable weaker but this is where the experience and team work can have it's own impact.

I think we'll see a 2-2 draw, I just have this feeling we'll take the lead and hold them at 2-1 until the final minutes but it could go anyway really.

COYP!!

Transfer news: Notts County midfielder Neal Bishop attracting interest

<!--url{0}-->A host of clubs are checking on Notts County midfielder Neal Bishop, Sky Sports understands.

The 31-year-old has emerged as one of the top schemers in League One and now his situation is being closely monitored.

Bishop joined County from Barnet in 2009 and has been an ever-present since, starting over 150 league games.

Now Sky Sports understands that the likes of Barnsley, Blackpool, Milton Keynes Dons and Sheffield United are all keeping tabs on him.

A spokesman for McHale Sports, who look after Bishop, confirmed: "There is some interest in Neal.

"It is something that we will be looking at in the summer."

My phone kept beeping (it's running out of power) I hear several text alert tones, wondering why I were getting texts as normally I don't. I read the first message, it says 'You need to buy the Evening Post'. I didn't sink in LOL

Really, amazing and many thanks to @Dan

I see that the Premiership is going to get goal line technology next season, they are utilising the Hawkeye system that is used in tennis.

Good thing or bad thing? Discuss.

The Grim Reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with a vacuum cleaner. Talk about Dyson with death.

A mate of mine recently admitted to being addicted to brake fluid. When I quizzed him on it he reckoned he could stop any time...

I went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers on a grave. As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin, 3 hours later and they're still walking about with it. I thought to myself,
they've lost the plot!!

My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were £70!!! Blow this, I thought, I can get one cheaper off the web.

I start a new job in Seoul next week. I thought it was a good Korea move.

I was driving this morning when I saw an AA van parked up. The driver was sobbing uncontrollably and looked very miserable. I thought to myself that guy's heading for a breakdown.

My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning, can you believe that, 2:30am?! Luckily for him I was still up playing my Bagpipes.

I woke up last night to find the ghost of Gloria Gaynor standing at the foot of my bed. At first I was afraid... then I was petrified.

The wife was counting all the 1p's and 2p's out on the kitchen table when she suddenly got very angry and started shouting and crying for no reason. I thought to myself, "She's going through the change."

Bought some 'rocket salad' yesterday but it went off before I could eat it!

A teddy bear is working on a building site. He goes for a tea break and when he returns he notices his pick has been stolen. The bear is angry and reports the theft to the foreman. The foreman grins at the bear and says "Oh, I forgot to tell you, today's the day the teddy bears have their pick nicked."

Just got back from my mate's funeral. He died after being hit on the head with a tennis ball. It was a lovely service.

I've just realised I am going to miss the last match of the season at Meadow Lane, I am really annoyed with myself. I arranged a meet up with lots of motorhome friends last year and about 60 vans are meeting up the last weekend of the season. I swear I checked the fixtures before setting the date but obviously I got it wrong.

What do I do? I can't let all my motorhome friends down but I wanted to go to the last match, Damn, damn, damn, damn. :(

I'm just thankful that it's not resting on the last match for promotion or anything, that really would have been a dilemma.

Hello All,

I hope to make arrangements for us to go as a community/group, depending of course if there is interest. I am in the process of speaking to someone with regards to hiring a mini bus which seems pretty flexible but I will need to do the numbers. My question is, would you like to come?

Doncaster vs Notts (a)

Personally, I think this would be an amazing thing for the site but not only that so we can get to know each other a little more.

I'm sure it would be fun! If you're interested please do let me know.

I was watching the football, I look to my left and see great scenes of the Italian Magpies enjoying their visit. I look to my right and Jakes having fun with one of the little IM's. I watch the football and for some unknown reason discontent could be heard, I scanned the picture and looked to Joe, asking what's going on?

Just after, I turn to see the fight near the steps. Disgraceful behaviour!

I've heard so many versions, it's crazy.

Terrible to hear, I hope they reunite Baby and Mother.

Baby girl found on bench in Hailesland Park in Edinburgh

A newborn baby girl is being looked after in hospital after being found on a street bench in Edinburgh.

The baby was discovered in Hailesland Park, behind Kilncroft Stair, at about 12:55 by a passer-by who phoned the police.

Police Scotland said there was no sign of the baby's mother in the area, who medics advise will require urgent medical attention.

Officers said they were concerned for the wellbeing of the mother.

The baby was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she is being looked after by staff.

Ch Insp Richard Thomas said: "We are greatly concerned for the wellbeing of this baby girl's mother and are urging her to seek medical attention.

"We would ask anyone who might know who the mother is to encourage her to see a doctor urgently."

Must not be easy, I know others may be quick to judge and assume it's probably a young girl but we as humans should look beyond any pleasantries. Poor little angel

FRANCOIS Zoko and Notts County have got shirty with each other.

The Ivorian forward was dropped from the Magpies' squad for their home league with Colchester United because he refused to cough up £40 to replace a shirt he gave away to a Notts fan after their last away game at Bournemouth.

I find it quite shocking, there's interesting comments to be read on Twitter. I find it amusing when people write there own version of stories and well, I find it in bad taste to include silly comments or lines about facts they know nothing about.

It's not something I loosely say, if I do say something I mean it. Since Pride of Nottingham's been going I'm often enough overwhelmed by the great things which have been achieved, the people I meet and I am honestly blessed. It means a great deal to me, so with this said. WHAT A PRIVILEGE!! I'm delighted and my little man (Jake), well he's full of confidence. He made so many friends, I'm proud of him!!

I think ^ this shows how much it meant to me. (Jake's curious as to what is going on/a little nervous)

Thank you Giorgio and of course all the @Italian Magpies !!

NottsConty01.JPG

Hello Mr.President! First of all thanks for the time you’re spending for us. We had a couple of interviews with the players.

Many Italian Magpies asked about the link with Juve this time, but also to know more about the Club.

Here the questions:

#1Why did you decide to become the President of the Notts County Football Club? Was it your favourite team or the love for the colours came out just after?

"I have always had a passion for football. As a youngster from London, I used to watch QPR and Brentford on alternate weeks. I am also a businessman and wanted to combine my 2 passions. I was approached by Notts County FC at a time when I was ready to take on a new challenge. The club is near to where I now live and was of interest to me because of it’s urgent need of attention and it’s rich history. The love for the club was almost immediate, at my first game, seeing the warmth of the supporters and the courageous performance of the team in the FA Cup v  – Fulham".

#2How many people work in the background of the Club? Does Notts County provide some form of representation of the fans at the top of the Club (supporters' trust, popular shareholding etc..), on the model of some other English clubs?

"Many people work behind the scenes at Notts County to support the work going on onfield. And develop our community. A dedicated group of staff, some of who have been with us for many years. Currently, over 300 people are employed, some on a casual basis, but  including about 80 contracted, for various hours including players. We are still developing the Supporter Liason role but, in any case, have an open and inclusive relationship with supporters. We do not have a Supporter’s Trust, though the club has had one in the past (not under our stewardship)".

#3You purchased the Club for just £1 and you inherited many debts. Three years with up and down. We’d like to know what was the worse moment and the best one. What was the best game you’ve been to?

"Worst moments: Finding the extent of the debt was far, far greater than was portrayed. By the time I was approached, the club was in a precarious position and a decision needed to be made fairly speedily.

Best moments: even in this short time, there have been many memorable times. Being promoted as champions of League 2,  hosting Manchester City at home and coming within minutes of winning, and, of course, having the honour of being invited to play the inaugural game at the new stadium of Juventus in Turin".

#4Do you think it’s possible to reach the play offs in this season? We suppose the project is to take Notts County in Championship. How much time do you think that project needs?

"Yes, ever the optimist! We have a good squad and management and it is still possible to reach the play offs this season. Of course, it is our aim to take Notts to the next level, be it this year, next, or the year after. But we have patience and are also committed to ensuring the longevity of the club and the development of young players".

#5What did you think when you received the invitation for the Opening Ceremony of the new stadium of the Italian Giants? Later in the season, Andrea Agnelli sent another invitation for the Opening Ceremony of the Juventus Museum, as a sign of friendship continues, it was a good experience?

"We had actually been in communications with Juventus for over a year, as we were eager to develop our link and to have them as guests for a game in our 150th year celebrations. Even so, it was an honour for Andrea Agnelli to call us and invite us to the stadium opening. Notts were very well looked after and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We had been invited for some time, maybe 1.5 years, to the opening of the J Museum and again, we had a marvelous experience".

#6Many fans would like to know if Notts County would be interested in loaning any Juve youth players. Do you think that could be possible?

"Yes, Notts County would be receptive to the idea of loaning of the youths from Juventus, should that ever be possible".

#7Maybe you expect which is the big question. Is it in your programme for a return friendly match with Juventus as Meadow Lane? If it’s not yet planned, do you think it will be possible?

"Juventus have already agreed as part of a reciprocal arrangement, that they would attempt to come over to Nottingham and play Notts at Meadow Lane. Obviously, with such a successful club as Juventus, the main obstacle to this is scheduling around the other commitments. Notts can be more flexible with timings and understand this.  Andrea Agnelli has expressed also a strong desire to bring Juventus to Meadow lane and we will continue to work to make this happen".

"On behalf of myself and Aileen, I would like to thank you for the work of the Italian Magpies. We look forward to meeting you again soon".

We want to thank Aileen and Ray Trew for the interview, for their kindness and for everything they've done for the Italian Magpies.

Many thanks to Andy Black.

I wonder how many expect to win or even draw? I wouldn't write  either us or them off, yet I feel they'll come looking to get the better of us as you would expect.

They'll probably be looking for the ups more than us, interesting comments coming out from some of our own players. Think consistency and a boost of morale would be nice, although it's a shame that it's now unlikely to impact our season. I think focus needs to be on the new season ahead, those out of contract need to prove themselves. Big day! The return of dear friends @Italian Magpies !!

Can't wait, hope it's a nice day. I think it will mostly rain tho.

1-1 I think.

can you cry underwater?

why does round pizza come in a square box?

why are you IN a movie but ON TV?

why is 'bra' singular but 'panties' plural

Do the Alphabet Song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the 2 songs above?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why will no plastic bag open from the end you first try?

How come you never hear father in law jokes?

How do dead bugs get in an enclosed light fitting?

If electricity comes from electrons does morality come from morons?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares why is there a song about him?

Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough money?

I thought this was really funny.

NOTTS County will not have a top-six budget in League One next season.

But boss Chris Kiwomya believes he can make the Magpies stronger with less cash to splash in the transfer market this summer and insists it does not show a lack of ambition to get into the Championshipicon1.png from the club.

"I don't think the budget next season will be a top-six budget that's for sure, but we will be competing to do well in the league," he said.

The likes of Tranmere Rovers and Yeovil Town are both still challenging for the play-offs this season on small budgets, while Notts are down in 11th place in the table ahead of facing Bournemouth away today (3pm).

No surprise, I think we just need to spend more wisely. Simple

Hi I am a Juve supporter working in London, I met some of you guys in Turin for the Juve-Napoli match last October and I wanted with a friend of mine to come and watch one of your last home matches of this season. Unfortunately both of us will not be able to be together in the same weekend in the UK. Scrolling your fixtures, I noticed the Bournemouth match on April 6th: would you recommend it for joining you in your end? Is that a quiet match out of the pitch? Since we will most probably travel by car or train from London, we would just like to be the two of us with black and white scarves in the middle of Bournemoth end...

What about the tickets? Shall I buy those directly by the Notts County site as I suppose?

Thanks, hope to see you guys soon.

Cheers

Giorgio

PS if you don't mind, we will be coming with Juve scarves...

And compliments, great site!

Ok guys, who's renewed their season ticket, please to say I was the first, £325 in the Kop as prices were frozen when I got mine, normally £340 so there's £15 saved straight away, nearly a £1 a game already.

I promised I would share our stats every 3 months, well here is the update. Please remember we could be doing much better, as some people choose to block the cookies sadly. As you can see we've greatly improved since December, this wouldn't be possible if members like you didn't help by contributing. I dislike taking credit, its a community and the site is 'ours'. I say this on all of the sites I run because I honestly believe if you run a site it belongs to the people who lay down the foundations. Thank you very much!

Compare December Here, Thoughts?

So, I have wanted to try to attend more games. (I've done this) I wanted to take the step a little further and from the kindness shown by 2piesonmyshirt driving myself + Jake all the way to Hartlepool and back, it made me taste what the 'away day' is like. I really wanted to feel like I did that day, to sum up so easily doesn't justify it but it was simply amazing.

Kim kindly offered to allow me and Jake to tag along to the game against Swindon.

Both myself and him were excited, we later found out WeymouthPie would be attending and it became so much more important. (met and finally said hello to some very nice people) I love how bright and engaging Jake responded to the trip, however the whole day will be one of them we both will remember. As you can tell I feel very sentimental, as a father who wants the best for his children (as most do) I get so much joy from seeing him happy.

Performances might leave fans asking questions but this was very kind by all involved, I am very PROUD. (hard not to be)

Joe mentioned this to me, i thought we should discuss it. nice to read the statement but leaves me with a few questions.

what do you think?

http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/board-outline-long-term-vision-737144.aspx?pageView=full#anchored

Local newspapers in Sheffield are reporting that Sheffield United have parted company with Danny Wilson following last night's 2-0 loss at home to Crawley Town. That defeat left United six points adrift of second placed Bournemouth although they still have two games in hand, so automatic promotion is still achievable but I think it's fair to say they're nowhere near the side they were last season. Could be said that when Ched Evans went to jail, their ruthlessness went.

Think the timing is ludicrous though. If they were going to do it, do it at the end of the season. I really dont see what difference sacking him at this time of the season will make.

Wonder who they'll get as a replacement. Neil Warnock to return to his boyhood club? Appleton?
