it was a superb effort, he had been looking like he would score all game and i am pleased that his effort struck the back of the net because it capped off a perfect performance by david mcgoldrick and notts in general.

having a player who has an eye for goal like mcgoldrick does, will help hugely with scoring more goals from distance.

He doesn’t skip much of the action and has a good amount of energy to see out games. I was a little sceptical at first about the signing, but I quickly realised that he brings with him a wealth of experience. I have seen it in the pre-season games I have watched. With the talk of Tobi Adebayo-Rowling, it’s easy to forget what a good footballing brain brings to the team. With David McGoldrick’s experience, the squad has a mentor who can pass on useful encouragement.

His goal was a very nice effort. I don’t think many would have saved it, and I am pleased that he’s got his first goal in Notts colours, albeit blue. ????

McGoldrick’s ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations is truly impressive. Instead of allowing missed opportunities to affect his confidence, he maintains a positive attitude and continues to focus on finding the back of the net. This level of mental resilience is admirable and sets a great example for others to follow.

I am pleased for David McGoldrick; it will be a natural lift to his goal, even if he doesn’t worry about scoring. He will be thinking about getting another, and it should lift his own morale. I liked the celebration from him, along with Jim O’Brien bowing and kissing David’s boot. The strike was superb, placed perfectly in the top right corner. A keeper would have to be special to even get a hand onto something like that. I also really appreciate McGoldrick’s laid-back attitude; he’s enjoyable to listen to.

McGoldrick's confidence is infectious. Love how he believes in his quality and the team's potential, just goes to show the positive spirit in the Notts County camp this pre-season.

What I like about David McGoldrick is that he’s always talking to the players around him, he’s always smiling too! His homecoming gives us a fairytale type story and on the back of promotion from the National League last season, well it brings optimism with it too. I have enjoyed seeing him so far, I think once the season begins we’ll start to see more of the class he brings. His experience from his days in the Championship and Premier League is going to be a big boost for us.

I wasn’t at the match but when I saw the video I thought it was a superb goal, I have the feeling we’ll see a few more of those over the coming season and McGoldrick will become a fan favourite. I can hear Rubén’s song adapted to David McGoldrick.

We are blessed with Langstaff and McGoldrick, surely two of the best strikers in the division.

We finally have players who are relatable and think about each other. I like David McGoldrick's presence on the pitch because he's a calm head. That influence and experience isn't something you can teach, but his strike is another thing that is natural.
