With both teams chasing a play off place, both teams will be hoping to get the three points this weekend while a win for MK Dons and results favouring them elsewhere could see them close the gap on 2nd place.

There have been some surprising victories for sides in League One within this past weekends fixtures, Crawley, Colchester and Scunthorpe are all within this bracket. Whilst sides like Rochdale, Crewe, Fleetwood and Sheffield United have all triumphed in close and difficult games within their own rights. The most surprising result would be at the Bescot Stadium where Walsall lost to Scunthorpe, the West Midlands side will be stunned after this defeat.  

In this weeks round-up there hasn't been many surprises within the League One fixtures. Only three stand out which are Gillingham, Port Vale and Yeovil. Whilst the top end of the table hasn't changed much with only Rochdale making their way into the play-off places, as Sheffield United drop just outside and remain on the same points as Bradford. This weeks League One programme was curtailed due to the FA cup where hopefuls Preston and Sheffield United drew 1-1. Chesterfield lost 2-0 away at Derby. Bristol City lost at home to West Ham. The result of the round though was Bradford's unexpected 4 -2 away win at Premiership leaders Chelsea. Rochdale play Stoke tomorrow. Results over the weekend have gone mostly as form would suggest though Notts' fans will be very disappointed with such a heavy defeat by the hands of Oldham Athletic. On Saturday there was 5 Home wins, 2 away wins and 3 draws. On Sunday we saw a home win and a draw. This weekends fixtures have widely opened up the play-off places and kept the automatic promotion widely open to the three teams in the running.   League One Results

Another disappointing day for Notts fans, losing at home to local rivals Chesterfield who now sit comfortably in the play off places at 5th in the table. The big game of the day between MK Dons and Bristol City ended as a goalless draw. Swindon and Preston remain in 2nd and 4th place respectively with Oldham moving up to 6th replacing Sheffield United who fall to 7th. At last, a very welcome win for Notts albeit against bottom placed Leyton Orient. League One is now beginning to take shape with the top 4 clubs having a clear lead at the top. Bristol City have a game in hand which has opened up a gap in 1st place, closely followed by Swindon 4 points behind and MK Dons another point lower, still 3rd despite losing on Monday at Bradford. There was no game for Notts this weekend but some very interesting results. The big League One game ended with league leaders Bristol City losing at home to play-off hopefuls Sheffield United. There was also a surprise home defeat by Chesterfield to lowly Leyton Orient, also 2nd placed Swindon losing at home to strugglers Scunthorpe United. 3rd placed MK Dons losing away at Gillingham. Yet another disappointing result for Notts fans. Bristol City, perhaps surprisingly, lost away at lowly Colchester with Swindon also being upset at home by Crewe. MK Dons helped their promotion hopes and dented Peterborough's by winning 3-0. Pride of Nottingham reflects at the business end of the League One table, as the Magpie fans will no doubt be looking ahead to Port Vale.   League One Results

Another disappointing result and display from Notts County, but at least the bottom 5 teams all lost too, with the exception of bottom club Yeovil who beat Oldham 2-1. Preston had a good win away at MK Dons, Sheffield United were beaten at home 1-2 by Fleetwood but Bristol City are clear leaders of League One by 10 points after winning away at Crawley 2-1. The competition for play off places is getting very interesting with only 8 points separating 5th placed Sheffield United and 15th placed Oldham. The situation at the bottom end is no less interesting with Coventry, Leyton Orient and Crawley all winning, Crewe, Colchester, Yeovil all losing and Notts, Scunthorpe and Walsall all drawing. Walsall lie 16th but are only 8 points adrift of a play off place and yet are also only 7 points above safety, which shows how tight this league
