Report: Notts County to be sold this week

Joe Jones

The sale of Notts County is close to completion and could even be announced by the end of the week, according to reports.

Current Magpies owner Ray Trew put the club up for sale at the end of February, and according to the Nottingham Post, talks with the purchasing party have progressed over the last few days to the point that the sale is imminent.

Businesspeople and consortiums from Denmark, China and the United States have all been linked with Notts over the last few weeks, as has local businessman Alan Hardy, the chief executive of the Paragon Group and the only bidder to make his interest public.

Trew has owned the club since 2010, after he bought it for a nominal fee of £1 following the Munto debacle.

I would hope these reports are true, we need that stability back in the pipeline and I know there's people worried about the future but really it will be nice to have this settled, we can then focus on the football.

Good luck to all parties involved (I still hope for Hardy to purchase Notts).

No Americans please. They haven't a clue about football. To them it's a franchise and the fans are customers.

Over all other league teams, Notts have the unique selling point of being the oldest. Pre-Munto, I wondered if there was a chance for the Trust to tour the Arabian peninsular, cap in hand, seeking a hefty financial backing.

We await to see what we get served up this time around. I do hope that there is no bitter aftertaste with this new deal, if indeed it goes through.

Who r ya?? You Pies!!

Let's all hope now for a swift conclusion , it being a good deal for NCFC to move forward in a stable fashion , then we can look forward to next season with renewed optimism, coyp .

Wednesday :

According to the Nottingham Post, talks with the purchasing party have progressed over the last few days to the point that the sale is imminent.

Yet we have hear nothing since.

Now if someone so much as farts over on the dark side, we get all the details, and sometimes a pull out special with Florist fans being asked to speculate if it would have happened if BC was still in charge. But when it comes to the pies we get nothing.

Do they know who is supposed to be buying Notts. The Yanks, Danes, local lads or the latest a Scottish consortium, I don't know and I bet they don't.

This is a major point in the history of the club, and the Post claims to have inside knowledge, then leaves us hanging. Can we believe any thing they say.
