i dont spend as much of my free time on social media, with me working from 8am to 5:30pm and sometimes into late shifts i took a step back from twitter and facebook. i have never really liked twitter that much, its a place where people get hot headed easily and usually over silly stuff. like god forbid someone has a different opinion than yours.

i prefer facebook always have, i wished i had more time to keep updated with @super_ram, @magpiejue and some of the other friends from here.

do you spend much time online? does social media have an impact on your life?

The extent of my social media use is limited to a select few friends. I attempted to connect with more people on Twitter, but I found it more trouble than it was worth to engage in conversations. On Facebook, I maintain both a private and a public account, but I mostly post updates for my close friends and family.

I wouldn't describe myself as being glued to my phone. I merely check my notifications and look for updates.

Personally, I don't use social media at all. I feel that people's lives are already too short to spend an excessive amount of time living through a screen. The real world offers much more excitement and potential for genuine human interaction. While I do enjoy reading and browsing various websites, I wouldn't invest a significant amount of time into something that I find irrelevant or that distracts me from real-life experiences. In my opinion, social media can often create an illusion of connection and engagement, but it doesn't always translate into real, meaningful relationships. Spending time in the physical world and building genuine connections with people is much more fulfilling and rewarding to me. Plus, there is so much to explore and experience in the world that it's hard to justify spending too much time online.

I'm guilty of having lived in the clouds for too long, mostly because of PON and my other online interests. It doesn't compare to real world interactions, as I learned this from having walks with my brother on a weekend. Even though I wished it was more often, I would randomly call at my parents.

Provided you don't live every moment online, it doesn't affect your personal life, relationships, eating habits or health.

I don't see any fault with how many people seem to be glued to their screens. It's something I don't really reflect much on, but I do wish from time to time, that people wouldn't go down bus stairs glued to their devices, cross roads/streets with their mobiles almost touching their noses and walk around like it's the only thing happening.

Spending time on the internet and social media is common for many teenagers, including myself. It's a convenient and accessible way to stay connected with friends and family, especially during the pandemic. Social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter allow us to share moments from our daily lives and keep up with what's happening with others. Additionally, gaming has become a huge part of our culture and a popular way to socialise with others online. Personally, I find gaming to be a great way to de-stress and have fun with my friends. However, I also recognise the importance of taking breaks from the internet and spending time offline, engaging in other activities such as reading, exercising, or spending time outdoors. It's all about finding a balance that works for each individual.

If you were to guess my age, you might be surprised to hear that I have no interest in social media. Although I did use Twitter at one point, I quickly found myself merely reading and interacting with friends, and not engaging with the platform as a whole. As for Facebook, I don't care for it at all. The site seems to be designed to distract and draw you away from other aspects of your life, and that doesn't sit well with me.
