That's life, thanks for getting us up and running again @Chris. I couldn't access the forums at all yesterday - I even had to speak to people in real life!

FAO: Subscribers.

A recent 'patch' has caused subscriptions to automatically cancel from the point it had been installed. I have confirmed with @Dripsey3 that PayPal has cancelled those are active, but from our end it's still showing as active. I am in talks with how to resolve this matter, but to renew again would mean a payment would be taken twice. This is unfair to subscribers and challenging for the site.

No double payments have been processed.

This issue might only affect PayPal, as looking into Stripe it seems subscribers have remained active.

If not, members subscriptions might expire, but this will not affect any benefits which might be claimed. Once I can confirm, you can either re-subscribe or choose to remain inactive. If you are effected, and wish to continue supporting us by subscribing - I will walk you through the process closer to the time of your potential next payment cycle.

It looks as if Stripe is okay, but I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

All subscribers will have to proceed to renewing their purchase, to which afterwards everything should be routine again.

https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/clients/purchases/

The patch which was applied before I crashed the site, has cancelled all renewals after the date it was applied. I believe two members are currently awaiting "renewal" being @super_ram and @Ryan Raynor.

@Robbie, @Richard Eley, @Michael D Pie. and @Dripsey3 - yours were taken prior to the patch being applied for January.

@Fan of Big Tone: Around the 18th, you should be notified about needing to renew if you wish to continue subscribing.

The patch issue is due to featuring slowly being removed by the software company that builds the main applications in which PON uses. Unfortunately the patch created a bug which released the payment gateway tokens. This has since been resolved, but unfortunately we have to appeal to members to renew (obviously with payments being sensitive).

I'm very sorry about this. :(

Update:

I fixed the corruption in all four themes where the "𝕏" icon appeared as '????'.
I have re-designed the who's online widget
Limiting it to only 5 members usernames being shown online in the widget, but it will tell you the total amount.

The limit doesn't affect the member total: 1 Member, 0 Anonymous, 43 Guests <- The amount of Member(s) can be whatever it is, it remains unchanged.

I have also fixed all the theme corruption caused by restoring the backup during the downtime I caused.

Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the corrupt data inside of posts, not without manually editing every individual instance. (I don't think this is practical, but please edit your own if you notice it).

We are currently a short time away from another security fix update, which will bring Blue Sky embeds into the community. The moment this drops, I will schedule a reasonable time to upgrade and for that duration the site will remain offline briefly.

My focus tomorrow will be trying to do what content I can, but please be mindful I do what I can, when I feel well.

Let's pick up once more now we are firmly into 2025, thank you for your support!

Fixed this earlier, but then I had to adjust the CSS slightly so that it didn't cause issues to mobile devices.

Fixed: Amended the fix to Liam's reported issue, which has resolved this.

Thanks for reporting the problems, sorry about the issue(s) too. 👍

I will be performing a site update tonight at 11:35 PM London time.

It's just a routine patch.

(I say routine, but there shouldn't be any extended downtime - I just hope there are no complications. (Most of the time patches are fine.)

Thanks for letting us know @chris I’ll be tucked up in bed and by the time I wake up tomorrow hopefully the site will be back.

No issues from my checks have been caused by the latest patch. 🤞

The upgrade was very smooth (as it should be). The most significant update to mention is the introduction of BlueSky embeds. :)

I have fixed and tidied up the featured article template.

In-line with the wallpapers page design, I have added share icons higher up to encourage them to be used. Yes, you should be happy now @True Magpie. In addition, I have added BlueSky to the share options.

A status page is in the works, which will show if the site is online:

PRIDEOFNOTTINGHAM.STATUSPAGE.IO

Welcome to Pride of Nottingham's home for real-time and historical data on system performance.

In case there are complications, this will be where updates will be provided about downtime, maintenance and site-related issues. We are using the free tier, which means 100 members can subscribe to get updates. This will automatically alert those who do sub of downtime, and the following updates.

Right now, we have the site listed.

But I will be including the server, and MySQL (database).

Website: <-- Is the site loading?
Server: <-- The site is not loading, but is it server related?
MySQL: <-- The site loads but gives a database error.

Sorry, @Robbie and @Michael D Pie..

If you wish to extend your subscription, you'll need to visit this location. I have just noticed the renewals have been generated now. Due to the issue experienced with a previous patch, which cancelled all active subs. :(

https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/clients/purchases/

On the link you will see the name of the previous teir you took out, if you click to manage it and then see the message about renewing. It will take you to the payment gateway. By no means feel oblieged to do it.

Apologies about the lack of updates so far. I had an appointment earlier and it took much longer than I had hoped. I don't want to disclose personal things, but I don't feel all that well either.

I will try to do my best, and I know everyone tends to understand. That is appreciated, but I am saying this so you can be aware.

The site seems to be loading much more slower than usual. I always clear the cache regularly, however it's not having any effect on the slowness.

Sorry, I have been busy with work and somehow I overlooked this. I will pass the information onto Chris for him to look into the server issues. Thanks, Robbie.

Was there an exact error or code? Just so I can assist Chris better.

@True Magpie sorry I should have taken a screenshot. I will in future. I can remember it had the name of the server & an error message attached to it. Is it the name of the server PON uses?

I will be looking into it, thanks for reporting it!

With me being away Sunday, I haven't had a chance to look, and even then I missed this. Apologise for that @Robbie and @Fan of Big Tone. I wouldn't be able to assume the course of it, what with me being away and with no articles being published or anything to suggest it could be traffic-related. Still, it's useful as I do need to be aware of issues and site troubles.

Thanks!

Did it say if the problem was related to them or the site? Usually, it shows ticks and reveals where the problem lies.

There's a chance the server just had trouble during that period. Did it last long?

I can’t remember what it said to be honest but the site was very slow all day and the message appeared a few times.
