Saves us a job in sending him back. Let’s face it, if he couldn’t get into our shambles of a back line, then he has no chance.

Doesn't say much for our recruitment team does it. Tipton gone, Gosling maybe, and Morias can't get a regular game

I Agree @PiethagoramΒ

Why not let the Head Coach have the final decision on recruitment. If the Head Coach doesn't like, get on with, nor rate the recruit, or the recruit doesn't fit into his system of play, he's not going to play him. We've seen the same thing at other clubs.

I know coaches have a lot to do, but surely meetings can be held,Β  so recruiters know what type of player the Coach wants.

I'm sure the head coach is involved... see Baldwin and Randall, both known to LW

Luke may be involved but does he have the final decision? He either has or he hasn't. Either way the recruitment decisions are a little wanting.

This is pretty harsh given that the recruitment team has also brought us players like Rodders, Jones, Reeves, Palmer, Wootton, Langstaff, Scott, Crowley etc. Some of whom weren't on anybody else's radar. Gosling was a gamble worth taking, while Morias was injured when he joined us and has struggled for fitness ever since.

Signings are always a gamble to an extent, but our record on loanees has been patchy. Maybe the experience of being in and around the first team squad has been good for Ollie Tipton, but it hasn't really benefitted us. We're crying out for competition in a few areas, so we don't need players who aren't really in contention for a spot.Β

I think he recommends the recruitment team to take a look at them, it isn’t his decision to sign them or not as he is head coach and not the manager.Β

Totally agree, most of our recent signings apart from Crowley (I won’t include Didzy as he wanted to come home)Β & possibly Macari have been poor. Stone is pretty bad, Randall doesn’t exist, Morias injured before signing, and Tipton just not up to it. Gosling was a gamble that hasn’t paid off, so not quite in the same category as the rest to be honest.

It makes me wonder just how much of a loss Jason Turner really has been to us as I’m sure he was involved in the recruitment side as well (would be surprised if not).

i think with the signing of jumior morias we have been unlucky but i do think sometimes when a player is not near to starting, we have a tendency of claiming they have a knock which might be true but i dont think its anywhere as bad as to keep them from starting.

ollie tipton is probably one of those loans where the parent club continues to pay their wages without the loan club having to worry about it.

i cant imagine he would have been on a considerable amount either but there was no reason why we did not give him a chance. we should have given him some chances, but the most baffling part is when we needed a defensive midfielder he was nowhere near the starting lineup, when we needed a defender again he was just overlooked. i dont think it says anything negative about our recruitment.

it might have just been a budget thing for the time, or to see how our squad did. the same recruitment process should bring in more quality in january to help us push on with aims of back to back promotions.

i wish ollie tipton all the best, i am sure he could have done more for us given the game time.
